Be aware that the chef in Malice In The Palace was played by Curly Howard who was sadly in very bad health when he made a cameo in that 1949 Three Stooges short called: Malice In The Palace
It fooled only the guard at the gate, but not the hulking one inside the palace who would later portray the genie of the lamp in their short “3 ARABIAN NUTS”, which also included Vernon Dent. This left Philip Van Zandt as one of the villains of the storyline.
The one I found the funniest was the scene where three Jews dressed as Santa Claus convince a Muslim that they have a present for him. It was deliciously absurd!

They used stock footage from "Malice In The Palace" when they did "Rumpus In The Harem." Any new footage they used Joe Palma as Fake Shemp. You'll be able to tell when you see the back of "Shemp's" head.

Tysons Accosta There is a photo of a thinner Curly with a fake handlebar mustache as an angry chef, but his scene was cut due to his illness. One of the reasons was probably Curly’s speech being deemed unintelligible. The Stroke that forced Curly to leave the stooges made it difficult for him to walk and talk.

That's because the cameo wasn't actually filmed. Curly turned out to not be up to it.
