Interesting but I think my party would attack the liche while he’s casting a spell
Wise idea, honestly. Old school spell interruption, lol. Cheers, Rivers!
Hey Wally, this is pure genius 🤩
The lettering should be spelt backwards after the illusion kicks in, it will act as another clue to reverse the words, and only one mirror resting against the pillar. I would move the desk to the top floor. Have the old man writing at desk, all a illusion, he is another clue. First floor have a small table with a book no pen just a dried ink well; a lecture or registery. I would make the illusionary lich be the trigger, the party finds a real dead body in the bed, when disturbed, the illusion rises up from the body and the lich cast his spell changing the whole building into the illusion.
Thanks Wally you have a wonderful day!
Yes! The lich, perfect! What a great idea for the trigger. And, glad you enjoyed the video Matt. I love ideas like this that really gets the brain bubbling with creativity. Cheers!
As a player who's characters are usually fairly cautious,as soon as i have seen the clean floor in a ruined tower i would leave an take a long rest outside, you either have someone using as a base if operations still or you have to contend with gelatness cubes. Either way we should be at full strength. Im curious if the tower would still change after the first hour of us entering or if the timer resets after we leave. Awesome puzzle though fun flavor
Always interesting to see how players would have their character's react to a place like this. A big "NOPE", I'm not going in there makes a lot of sense, lol. And, ya know, I think if this happened, a lot of GMs would probably handle it differently. I'm not sure if the tower would trigger or timer reset, I'd probably do a reset. I think 12 GMs could run this and every one of them would do something differently. Which is what I enjoy most about presenting puzzles on this channel.... all of the different ideas that come from the original. Thank you for the conversation, cheers!
looks like a fun book. Thanks for sharing it.
Puzzle looks like fun too.
Indeed, its pretty cool. Thank you, my friend! Hope you are doing good. Cheers!
Its amazing to see you bring one of my adventures to life! Thank you Wally!
It's really a fun little adventure and looks like folks enjoyed the book, idea and presentation. Was great collaborating with you on this... glad you enjoyed the video. Cheers!
Dang it, that little owlbear is too sneaky 😅
He's in there! I promise ;-)
This is a really interesting little adventure. I coul see this being a fun way to put players on edge. Maybe forcing them into a weird situation by giving them a difficult combat so theyre low on resources and an intense storm to make them want to hole up in the tower otherwise theyd be to paraniod (my players at least)
Great points here, absolutely. A mysterious tower is definitely going to intensify player paranoia, for sure, lol. Thank you, my friend!
I got it around 3:30. I think flipping letters would make it too easy. Maybe put it in a Cypher?
A cypher might definitely help up the difficulty level, for sure. Absolutely. Cheers, good to see you!
Love the password at the end just to amuse the DM! Those are the best sorts of details!
Absolutely, 100%!
That is a neat little adventure! I liked the way you described it, giving me enough information to run that adventure and making me curious to read this book. I *love* the use of the Dyson map! I am a huge Dyson fan.
Thank you Mark, glad you enjoyed the video/idea/review! Ya know, I'm not familiar with Dyson maps, I'll need to go out on into internet land and find out more. :-) Cheers!
Nice presentation. I like the aspects of the puzzle but 3 floors could be a bit much for some groups, and then again, the DM can change things.
Thank you, my friend! And exactly... all videos are ideas for the DM to use and change as they see fit. ;-)
This puzzle encounter looks fun and it's easy to run, for the lich guy I would allow the players uses their passive perception to see if its illusion. Make set a dc or some hints for the players to find the object to open the lock if playing at low level
Overall it's a well design puzzle, hopefully you do more of this content
Edit: where do you buy that toy, the bootleg lego building to make your tower?
Thank you, Isa! I'm glad you enjoyed the video. And, absolutely, allow the characters to detect the lich illusion is a great idea.
Also, the bootleg lego blocks are from a game called "Crossbows & Catapults". It's an out-of-print game now, but a lot of the pieces can still be found on Ebay. Cheers!
Thanks Wally. To hard for me.
Well... I won't run this one on the 29th then, lol. Cheers Fred!
