Exactly. It's like there is a series of events that, if they don't happen, will totally wreck the experience. Tasha's Cauldron puzzles are creative, but a bit tough for DMs to navigate. Anyways. Thanx for watching, Cheers!
I would probably run it with paintings of Delora's family members in the alcoves, as well as the verses. Especially for the first ones being family members, a portrait of a person with a resemblance to Delora, or a family portrait of them all together, could help push the players towards asking questions from Delora about the answers to the riddles and not towards thinking figures like Cain or D&D deities or myths they've come across. It doesn't need to be hyper-specific, but a nudge towards the answers being, say, people who have lived in the haunted mansion where you're placing this puzzle in is a strong push to the right direction of thinking.
That is a brilliant idea! I think adding the paintings of the family members to the alcoves would solve a lot of problems this puzzle might have. Glad you mentioned it. Well done!
I would make it so that, if the players attack the girl, that something comes out of the alcoves and attacks the players, but that the alcove returns to normal if defeated or if whatever came out knocks out the player. Options would be: (1) The candlesticks come to life as if they were animated objects (2) The alcoves become mimics (3) The ghosts of the people (and animal) whos names are used for this puzzle emerge from the walls of the alcoves #3 is my favorite of these options I would add the flare that when the ghost girl can get the doll that the girl floats up off of the floor, and the doll becomes immaterial and floats up into her outstretched arms. P.S. Also why the hell would anyone attack someone who was crying anyways even if they were a ghost? Ya just gotta be a meany ta do that.
I laughed out loud on the "Ya just gotta be a meany ta do that", lol! But yeah, some fantastic ideas here. I also believe option #3 is my favorite. Well done on making this your own within a matter of minutes!
Welcome to the channel Alex! Glad you enjoy the series. Question for you. Are you enjoying/watching just the Tasha Puzzles or ALL of the puzzles on the channel?
Hello Wally, this is a good one. I thought it was hard, couple of those hints I didn't get. Can't wait to see you do more of these puzzles from your book. Thanks Wally & have a great day.
Thank you Matt, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah, some of those hints are super hard... this is definitely a difficult puzzle, for sure. Thanks again for hanging out on my channel... stay tuned, lots more cool stuff to come!
Wow I love this! I've been trying to think of a good puzzle to work until my homebrew I'm writing for a group of new players (who all love puzzles and riddles) and this is the perfect big finale puzzle. I'll tweak a few bits to fit my story but thanks! I hope my players love it. Love your channel btw, really well explained and entertaining to watch :) keep up the great work
Hi Raiden, glad you enjoyed the video. Be sure to let me know how it goes if you run it in your game. I love hearing stories. Also, thank you for the compliment. Glad you are enjoying my videos. Be sure you are subscribed... I have a lot of fun ideas coming soon! On to the next!
you all probably dont care at all but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account? I was dumb lost the account password. I love any assistance you can give me!
@Carlos Colton i really appreciate your reply. I found the site thru google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Hey there Phoenix! Hope you had a Happy Christmas as well. Glad you are enjoying the book, I sincerely appreciate the support. Stay tuned... 2021 will be filled with a ton of new puzzles on this channel. Cheers!
Great video! I think it's a great puzzle, I may try and think a variation with different names. And is that a Nerd Immersion shirt? What is this a crossover episode? 🤣
Ah, that would be cool if you could use names from your world or campaign. Or even the names of your players. I dig that idea. And, yep, I'm wearing a Nerd Immersion shirt, lol. I am a fan of Ted's channel, for sure. Met him at GenCon in 2019. He's a really cool guy!
Ah man, thank you, Justice. Comments like this always make my day. :) Also... yeah, these puzzles are definitely way too hard, which is why I feel the need to record videos about them. Hmmm.... maybe they'll reach out to me the next time they want to do puzzles, lol. Cheers and Happy Holidays to you!
Man I dont think I would have figured out the first part of that puzzle. Its definitely hard. I'm not sure between either of my groups if they would be able to figure it out. I knew the second part but that first set of finding out the names of people requires a few leaps imo.
Yeah, its absolutely crazy isn't it? I feel that the DM would have to run this encounter flawlessly, or it will result in some frustration. Heck, I knew the answers and still had issues trying to demonstrate this for the video, lol.
Since the order of the answers matters, what guides the party to do them in that order? Are the alcoves visibly numbered? (I don't have Tasha's book, sorry).
Hey there Scott! I just realized that I did not make that portion of the puzzle clear. But yes, Each alcove has a metal plate with a number on it (numbering the alcoves 1-6). This is definitely a very important part of the puzzle and something to make sure the players immediately recognize. Thank you for pointing this out. Cheers!
Haha, yep! This is very likely for most tables, I imagine. Then... watch as the Ghost goes absolutely ballistic on the party for doing so! lol. But yeah, the DM would definitely need to prepare for the destruction (or theft) of the doll. Thank you for pointing that out. Cheers!
I can see why this is considered hard. You have to get into the mindset the puzzle wants you to be in. Should be an interesting one to play

These videos are the best format for understanding how to run puzzles.
Thanks my friend. Definitely this helps folks run the puzzle in their game. :)

That's a fun puzzle, I'll use this.
Indeed! Let me know if there is another puzzle from Tasha's you want to see. I should be recording another one soon. :-)
@@WallyDM I don't know what's in the book due to being blind, though thanks for asking.
@@stm7810 Ah, sorry to hear that. Well, I'm glad that you are able to listen to my puzzle videos. I appreciate you being here. Cheers!
Attacking a poor girl should have consequences. Excellent Video.
Haha, right!?
I will adapt this to a 🪦 mausoleum
Oh yeah, that would be a perfect place for this puzzle. Hope it goes well for you James. Cheers!
nice candles
lol, thanx. I bought them specifically for this video. :) Cheers Robbe!
Way too hard, but I MUST still upvote. Great content from a great provider.

Why not a cow or goat ? Why not her Father ? Interesting puzzle.
My players would probably try to destroy the doll

Little children ghost are generally not little human ghosts
