The entire "Paragon" album is such an amazing body of work, and it's a huge departure from what most people expect from her. But that's why she said she made the album...to show people that she's not just a metal vocalist. I believe her song "Invincible" will speak directly to you.
There is a video/documentary about the time/tour Floor joined Nightwish. It's called "Please learn the setlist in 48 hours". Floor was recovering from a burn-out and the band got in a disagreement with their singer in the middle of a tour. Anette left the band and they called Floor Jansen if she could fill in. She had only 48 hours to learn how to sing the songs and what to do on stage. Everything was filmed for the documentary. Just before Floor had her first performance, she was very nervous, sitting in front of the mirror, doing her make-up. It looked a lot like in this video. She was wearing a glitter jacket and her make-up looked the same. In the time her first solo album was released, Floor had some health issues and finally had surgery to remove a small tumor from her breast. I find "Storm" the most beautiful song on the album. With this song Floor did something, that only She can do, as a Valkyrie Goddess ...She dedicated "Storm" together with the Orchestra of the Royal Netherlands Air Force to Talitha Born, an army veteran in Dutch Television show "Ode Aan Onze Veteranen". Considering your personal story, I think you will really appreciate another of Floor's recent solo songs. The song Invincible is about recovering from trauma. The well crafted video for the song really has a significant impact, and highlights the journey through recovery for men, women and children who feel the impact of a tramatic event.
I have the sense that a major motivation for her in this project was to create songs that would make people feel better...That is amazingly selfless...
