Floor wrote this song as an anthem to those dealing with PTSD. Critical response to the song (indeed, to the entire album) has been lukewarm, but she didn't write it for the critics!
As a retired EMT, this spoke very clearly to me. I wish I'd had this available on an iPod (wow, that dates me!) so I could play it in the back of the rig, especially for older kids.
Try Nightwish's acoustic (Planet Rock) rendition of "How's The Heart?". It's very stripped-down, with just Floor's voice and Troy Donockley on guitar. Tuomas said he wrote that song as an ode to human empathy.

Lukewarm for some maybe. For me, just like the Northward album I was blown away at just how good the whole Paragon album was from the first listen. A phenomenal solo debut from Floor in my opinion.

You'll like this song called: The fight goes on. Floor sung this song for an organization called Warchild to raise money for children afflicted by the truama and horrors of War.

P.s. my 18 year old son Jayden has Autism as well. Best of luck to your son with his job search at least he's giving it a go good on him.

This song comes from Floor's own experiences. Her first band After Forever broke up and she started a new band called Revamp and Floor was heavily involved in all the organising of writing, recording and basically managing the band. However, it became too much and she had a breakdown. Not wanting to get up, not wanting too go out of the house, always tired, depressed etc. It took her about 18 months to bring herself around. At the end of the 18 months, at her sisters wedding, she got the phone call from Tuomas asking her to come to the USA to save the tour. She took the chance and flew out to Seattle, so you could say that she saved Nightwish and they saved her. There is a documentary called Learn the Setlist in 48 hours documenting that period. She was also diagnosed with Breast Cancer in 2022 and had to have surgery and additional therapy which fortunately was successful. Hence this song is from her heart.

I don't know if Floor has PTSD, but she told on Dutch TV that she did nit have an easy youth. She is an empath and an HSP. Her parents moved I think 7 times and Floor did not fit in at all her schools and was not accepted by her classmates who bullied her. That must have hurt her a lot.

Being an empath is so difficult. Taking on others emotions...I would not want that.

@erinna_the_white_rose Floor has talked about her High Sensitivity while walking in one of her covid era Storytime videos on her YT channel. You may find it interesting along with some of the other wonderful info and music she posted.

I am glad you liked this recommendation and it sparked some thoughts, hopefully mostly good ones.
Floor's voice delivers the emotion needed for these lyrics, as she "feels" what she sings.

Great video, you do not see Floor, but the people that the song is about, like those that conquer adversity and compete in the Invictus Games.
