Bull s-t, cops don’t need a blue light to tell if you have ran a red light.

Sure they do.
Makes sense the cop can be far away from the intersection and they have to do is look up and use the eye in the sky to catch someone running the light. This is excellent for cops sitting on private property hunting.

They didn't explain it completely. If the officer isn't in a position to see the red light, the ticket will get thrown out in court. With the blue light signaling when the light is red, the officer can see that from any position and it will hold up in court.
I live in this major city and the one has been flashing at the intersection for over an hour, it doesn't change with the traffic pattern. It just flashes non-stop for hours.
Some great advice I just read, if you see these blue lights, turn on your cars interior light! Blacks lights only work in the dark

The drivers in my city are so bad it's pretty much guaranteed that 2-3 cars will go through after the light has turned red... Every time. The cops do nothing about it.

This has nothing to do with streetlights. And yes, the blue streetlights are indeed defective LED fixtures that are supposed to be replaced as soon as they are spotted, but are not being replaced in a timely fashion by municipalities.
Plus common sense says black lights are not good for night time they only illuminate certain things brighter otherwise it makes it dark and or more dangerous for police officers if they go to pull someone over and they can't see what that person pulls out especially under one of these lights

Grants Pass Police Department Oregon put up blue lights all over up few years ago they were put up in high-crime areas when are they said they had cameras that fed only to the police department

Basically if you think none of those purposes or excuses they give make any sense, new black street light keep pop up though the company claims its faulty and has to be replaced yet none of it is done instead there are more. And now they coming up with different narratives, not only that they also now try to sway ppl opinion into thinking a lot of citizens actually like it(which is total bull cause simply put they are inconvenient and no no one likes them). So ill tell you what my guy. There are a lot of shady stuff it the world right now. But the thing is they installing them more and more under different narratives, they do differ and they all not making a lot of sense, and the amount of these different street black purple lights keeps growing though some of them just defective as they claim and some serve some purpose as it presented here. In my opinion they just seeking the most natural excuse to get public accept it for reasons yet unknown (or known but not everyone just going to believe). There also a lot of theories why they are coming to the street near you. But its up to you to pick what you think a lot of ppl dont buy the stories cause the lights are inconvenient and stories dont make sense.

I am a cop. When the light is red and you drive through it, we pull you over and give a ticket. That is, is it case closed. She is lying!!!!! The best way to know is ask a cop down there about the red light and the blue light. Then, look it up in the traffic regulations for you state. It should be public information online. What lies!!!
