How To Make Your Truck LOUD For Free (Muffler Delete)

- Hey everybody, in this video I show you how to jerry rig a muffler delete. As warned in the video, this does result in exhaust fumes being dumped under the cab of the truck, so do this at your own risk
me like loud noise me make truk go VOOOOM VOOM then beat rock together. naybor say loud i say FKU NAYBOR! me go VOOM VOOM!!!!
😂😂
😂😂😂
😂😂
HELL YEAH BROTHER!!¡
This is the way
Legends like this are still here. There are some people can’t afford to get exhaust work done.
Bro for real
I did this in high school with my 330K mile 01’ Silverado. It was so damn loud I’d set off car alarms ripping out of the parking lot 😂😂 All that fun for free but gooodness did it run through gas lol
It actually had no effect on your mileage if anything you would get better mileage because your engine can breathe better making more power requiring it not work as hard, it go worse mileage because you liked the way it sounded when you touched the gas 😂
Joseph Patton Hell yeah I did bro!!! I hauled ass any chance I got😂😂😂
Lmao....first thing imma try when i get home
I got a 01 with 157k miles on it and I’m 16 I got a flowmaster on it that sounds great but it’s just to quiet
@@daquavisdaquavis9676 yo i’m 16 too and i have a 98 silverado and i want to do this so it’s much louder but if it makes it gas guzzle i don’t got the money for that so, i’m not a car guy so i don’t know much.
I tried this, it was so fun everybody was yelling at me to go home!
I've had mine the same way for a year and had no problems I drove from Ohio to Tennessee with this setup and back and had no issues of carbon monoxide
I have a 2010 silverado. I can’t find this part of the exhaust

Muffler shops will do turndowns under a truck as long as it's behind the cab. And by the way, those aren't bolts, they're nuts.

My 04 ram hasn’t had a muffler or a Catalytic converter since 2017 and I love it he is LOUD has 308k miles ❤

rip my brother too "carbon monoxide poison" 😇🙏
Worth it
As long as you're NOT in garage or really confined space with your windows rolled up, you will be fine. Heck even A vehicle with muffler can kill your from Carbon monoxide if your in a confine space witht he vehicle running.

Probably going to get a new muffler instead lol. But good tutorial, obsessing over your voice, keep making stuff similar to the set up of this video! Enjoyed it :)

@@406hunterz8 honestly not bad. Down on power for sure though. Better to get a piece of flex pipe and saw the muffler off.😂
@@colebaranek4604 you think I would get power back if I put back to normal?
@@406hunterz8 yes only because your exhaust needs that length to generate good bottom end HP. if you were just looking for straight top end power I'd remove the whole second exhaust piece and do a side pipe.

Going to try it thanks
Uh thanks a lot dude! I did this and died of carbon monoxide poisoning!! Wtf
Where can I get the nut? I lost it smh 😂
Junkyard
At Home Depot or auto zone they sell bags of bolts, or if you don’t want to purchase just open the bag and get 2 for yourself and there
Why not just cut the muffler off and weld a pipe in its place ?? Alot safer no fumes going inside your truck
Just because this is legitimately free. I assumed that most folks don't own a welder; and if they do they'd weld some pipes or buy an exhaust system.
Why not clamp a pipe down instead of weld for the time being ?
@@chrisanthony5791 Once again, exhaust clamps and any pipe technically cost money; also not really enough space to clamp a 90 or anything at that point.
And that way you can always put it back together for FREE

why does mine make a pop and i can feel banging under the truck when it decelerates after i did this

Did this hurt your gas mileage at all?
UnknownSubscriber little because you are gonna love the sound and depends how much hit the gas a lot so just a little I have the same truck
Yeah it’ll harm mileage cause you’ll always wanna hear it roar lol
Can you still do this if the truck is true dueled?
Hey bro be careful it can melt your transmission wires
So what I did was I took a saw and I cut off my whole exhaust system there’s literally not one inch of tube
Open headers?
Is this just as loud as cutting the whole muffler off?
Noah Might be just a bit quieter cause exhaust is still getting through the muffler and tail pipe, but same tone
Limited Slip Automotive Okay, thank you! 👍🏽
Mine has a hole on it 😂😂😂
Can I do this on a semi truck???

How you take them off so easily. I’ve tried and they won’t loosen
Pretty sure I ended up kicking my wrench. Torque is your friend, try a longer wrench, or perhaps a pipe on the end.
Pb blaster or wd40 is a life saver
I used a driver. Couldn’t move it with a wrench
Daniel Remke mine was like that I found out the guy that had it before me stick welded the bolts onto the exhaust I wound up snapping the bolt heads and cutting my pipe out
How did you get them off mine is the same way
I have a 2011 gmc 2500 am trying to take off the muffler but the treads worn out , to open it is up or down?
All you gonna need is a sawzall and you gonna want to cut the Catalytic converter off and boom. Loud ass truck.
Don’t actually do that tho.
How does cutting off the catalytic converter of a Cadillac effect the sound of the silverado?
@@frankly2677I would assume that you’re referring to what seems to me like a auto correct issue do to a spelling error that I overlooked. Rest assured that it can easily be fixed.

The 3.8 with a exhaust leak sounds sick 😆 at idle, but is raspy when driving
Yeahhhhh found that out when I disconnected my mufflers 😂
Nice job but what was coming out of the pipe was oil or gas
water
Can you just use washers for the spacers??
That should work!
About to do this to my 09
Is it dangerous I mean I park my truck outside in the front? Any advice’! Please
not if it’s outside only if it is in a enclosed space running.
No, just don't idle it in the same place for long periods of time.
Limited Slip Automotive even outside?
Garrett Smith outside is fine
@@limitedslipautomotive What would u consider a long period of time?
you did an extreme exhaust leak! now toss on a intake offset< with out cia!
Does it hurt the engine at all
No
So... Why didn't you just use washers instead of the original nuts.... Vibration?
No reason other than didn’t have washers to fit over the studs.
Ima do it on my old shit box
attempting to do this on my 5.7 2017 ram. i’m letting WD-40 sit rn cause they won’t budge. this exact part tho is a lot closer to my front end than yours. like literally parallel to my front wheels.
How’d the WD-40 do? Mine won’t budge either
Does this mess with the back pressure at all?
Back pressure isn’t really a thing you don’t really want back pressure because it could damage your engine
The headers have enough back pressure
Back pressure has been so misunderstood, genuinely believe the terms serves strictly to scare people away from touching their exhaust, if taking mufflers and cats were bad for your car then you wouldn’t see ingreased mileage and horsepower, get a tune if you’re really worried about how the engine will run
@@yeahyourerightheresmystupi5352 yep nobody gets a tune and wonders why it runs like ass
Won't pass inspection in Massachusetts you could just do a muffler delete or for a few bucks more for the glass pipe
Just put it back together when you go for inspection
Okay I just tried to do this.. there was a lot of rust that sealed the bolt to the nut.. how can I get the nuts off?
WD-40, a torch, breaker bar, hack saw

pb blaster

still trying ??
So do it in the open foe how long
What do you mean?
Mine won’t spin
10/10 dead. Would not recommend for that reason. Sounds great though
Help the bolts wont loosen
lol you cannot do this without consequences. Most chevys in 2015 and up have a AMF system that runs through it. Unless you have a scanner to disable it the truck will not even idle correctly which in turn will give the MAP sensor a wrong reading. This is also runs concurrent with your transmission as well believe it or not. Might run good for a little while.
So is that spot in the pipe before the muffler or after?
Before if it was after it would sound the same
3:40 me with the roll down windows
Only do this with a truck ?
Could do it with a car
What size socket did u use to get it undone ?
15mm
rly dude?
I’m confused he never took the muffler off please explain anyone
It’s creating a gap before the muffler, therefore making it louder.
@@limitedslipautomotive oh I see thank you

Similarly, back in the 60's colored guys would walk around with a blaring, 3 ft. long boom box on their shoulder.

Just hook it back up if you need to have an emissions test

Hay i just sub to u
You do this on both sides for dual exhaust right? Lol I feel like this is a dumb question
Yes if you have two mufflers.
so if i did this couldn’t you just leave a window open so it wouldn’t have an affect on you
In theory yes lol but it COULD be dangerous around winter months. But like he said you have to sit idle in pretty much an enclosed space for hours before you run into problems
what about fuel consumption ?
Unchanged.
@@limitedslipautomotive thank you for quick reply, could you please explain in more detail about the disclaimer at the beginning, regarding harmful and fatal part with the fume ? Cuz I don't understand what it is about at all, and I am planning to do it for fun since it looks simple

My 2010 doesn’t have that
Do you still have it like this?
No, I got a FlowMaster installed.
@@limitedslipautomotive do you think it was much more worth it with the flowmaster do you like it more I was thinking about going that route but saw this as a cool little in between
I would say so, it’s only $150, and that way your exhaust is done up right and not disconnected like this.
@@limitedslipautomotive but does it still sound badass?
So is it dangerous if you do it outside? I'm wanting to do it but I keep seeing that even if you do it outside it's still dangerous and dangerous to the passengers in the truck
There is always risk dumping exhaust under the cab, but I have been in numerous vehicles with this set up, and even with under cab muffler dumps. As long as you don't idle stationary for long periods of time you should be fine, but I cant guarantee that.
@@limitedslipautomotive I pretty much unhooked the muffler from my truck so I'm pretty much running straight pipe which sounds just as good
@@Bryan42672 I was thinking of doing this instead
@@limitedslipautomotive kinda of amazing on many motorcycles it dumps right next to your body lol mines right behind me and right under passenger lol unless you car is filling up the inside of your inclosed vehicle it cant hurt you.. i would think a car sitting infront of me in closer to my air intake aswell

Will that work on a 2020 5.3 Trail Boss?
Yes
did you end up doing it??
or just spend $50 to have muffler cut off and straight pipe out back in its place at a muffler shop
$50 aint free my boy.
i'm just saying why cheap out with this idea? like you can afford the truck but can't afford $50 to have your exhaust done right?
IS THIS LEGAL???? In my state we need to get “THE STATE INSPECTION” every year.
Look up your states restrictions. A lot of states you aren’t allowed to cut your muffler but people still do it. You got inspections so you probably can’t do it
If you need to get an inspection just bolt it back on.
Limited Slip Automotive , I did , thanks
😂
Don’t do this to your truck, if your just wanting to see how it sounds with a muffler delete then fine but do not put miles on your truck like this it will cause an exhaust leak and possible blow a valve due to un proper back pressure.
That is completely false son
I’ve seen it first hand buddy people do this to there truck/car because they don’t want to pay for a muffler delete and a couple of weeks or months down the road oil starts spitting out where they unclamped it.. not to mention risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. There’s a reason they won’t do this at a muffler shop.
I mean I totally get wanting to make money off a RUclips video and run a channel but actually supporting this idea to people who don’t know much about vehicles is just wrong. Come on buddy you’ve made your money off this video time to stop acting like this is a good idea.
@@masonr8994 lmao you clearly have no idea how motors work pal. low back pressure 100% won’t blow a valve, sounds like the cars you were dealing with were total shit boxes.
If you won’t take it from me buddy then call a muffler shop or any mechanic shop and ask them why this isn’t a good idea they will tell you the same thing I’m telling you.
