you make good points about needing a stronger argument to sell this to the average customer, though i think the reveal could easily get away with being a teaser, not even really worrying about general audiences beyond getting it out there that it exists and is coming soon. they can get into the details later when they start airing commercials, really show off the games and unique features
Unless the Switch 2 is radically different to the Switch, I think the reveal will need to focus on the games, because otherwise people won't care. The Switch was such a new concept, that the initial trailer had to show us lots of ways we may want to switch between TV and handheld modes. They don't need to sell the concept this time around, just demonstrate why we should upgrade. So, I expect the initial reveal to sit in between the Switch Reveal and a full Direct; 10-15 minutes long, and with a far greater emphasis on the games. The Switch reveal had 6 games in it; Breath of the Wild, Odyssey, Mario Kart, Splatoon 2, Skyrim and some basketball game. But none of these were named or given much information. And I think that this will be where we see the difference. I think we may see a similar number of games; with 3 or 4 big Nintendo titles (new Mario, Metroid Prime 4, something a bit more casual and something new or unexpected), and then 2 or 3 big 3rd party titles. I'd like Elden Ring and Baldur's Gate 3 to be featured - as playing those games on a handheld would be a compelling prospect - and then something with a broader appeal - sports, Call of Duty, Fortnight etc. I suspect the new hardware itself will be deemphasised compared to the software, outside of highlighting key features like 4k support, cameras, microphones, magnetic joycons etc.
See, this is the kind of speculation on the Switch 2 that I can get behind. Some channels just don’t land their Nintendo Switch 2 speculation, assuming they NEED the console revealed now because they aren’t making as many millions of dollars on the Switch this year. But you cover multiple possibilities, and don’t count anything out. My gut is saying a big blow out in January next year, truth be told, that is a full on Direct showing a huge lineup of games and they let the big games from this year (that some people are downplaying as unimportant) carry them as they coast on to next year. However, I could see them revealing the console this year still at some point. If the console releases around the same time that Switch did, they would need to so they can get a head start on revealing Switch 2’s early line up. Ultimately, I am terrible at predictions. So I can’t say certainly what they aim to do. All I know is we’ll know what they’re cooking by March next year, and in the meantime I’ve got a backlog to focus on, games I can actually play here and now, rather than stressing over the unknown. Plus, Mario Party next week and I am very excited. Same with Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations, and I still eventually need to pick up Ace Attorney Investigations. I have too many games right now to think about games for a new console. It’s a good problem, but hoo boy, my backlog is still not close to cleared after June.
I think the best strategy is to have a small trailer for the console first than have whole presentation centered around it afterwards like the OG Switch. A small trailer this year with a full presentation in January or February would be ideal imo. It’s really suspicious that Nintendo not only pushed the direct up to August instead of keeping it in September but also they have no official game dates past DK. I feel like the fourth week of this month is prime time for a trailer followed by a presentation in February talking about the games.
In a world where GameFreak are competent devs, Pokemon Legends Z-A would fill in as the "BOTW launch title" for the Switch 2. It would be huge if they finally made the "pokemon + botw" game people ask so much. I hope that the delay of Switch 2 and Palworld are signs of this happening.
I've been in conversations about this for a while. The one thing we talked about was what happens after Nintendo releases that kind of game? After that every Pokemon game would need to be an escalation with a growing budget and higher risk. That's not very Nintendo
@@patrickfrost7488 Not very gamefreak*. Nintendo is more than happy to release one mainline Mario per generation. But I see your point, since Pokemon Legends is a spin-off with real-time battles they can treat Legends as its own thing and not mainline. People still prefer turn-based mainline Pokemon. Look at Yakuza, they release it yearly, it's AA (and probably cost less than Pokemon's usual budget), and they have yearly releases because they are always reusing assets, animations, and mechanics. TPC (The Pokemon Company) rarely releases big titles on the first two years (even the Switch). They even released Sun and Moon on the final year of Nintendo's support to the 3DS lol.
The game lineup is key here I don’t think the marketing will rely on gimmicks unless Nintendo thought of something really cool. Showing new ambitious games with amazing visuals might be all Nintendo needs
Mt personal thoughts on the matter are that Nintendo needs to show DEFINITIVELY what the new system is and why existing Switch owners will want to buy it. To this end, they need to show off backwards compatibility right up front along with whatever new gimmicks the system will feature.
I think reveal like Switch 1, with a indeapth Direct shortly after is the safesr bet. I cannot share a Direct with casual friends, they are more likely to settle with 3-4min long video.
I'm kinda hoping for something small, just a text announcement with a few small details. Really try to build up the Switch 2 hype slowly, make us dig through our massive backlogs!
The reveal should be a live one. Like a grand parade. At the top of the parade is a live marching band and they are playing Mario’s theme. Then, they are followed by all the staff of Nintendo all wearing Mario’s costume. At the very end of the parade is a giant mock up of the Switch 2 on wheels and it is pulling behind it Princess Peach’s chariot. And driving the chariot is Shigero Miyamoto and he is holding a whip and he is whipping the ass of the Switch 2.
An iterative switch would be a massive seller… we don’t need anything too unique anymore. Nintendo has hit the perfect form factor - now is the time to refine it.
I was going to say something similar. Nintendo have said that they hate the generation transition as it's so risky. The most Nintendo move would be to just say, nah we're done with those. We're iterative now
As a fan of Nintendo games, I will get annoyed with those "pro gamers" saying the Switch (or the successor) has weaker graphics. My guy, PS4 to PS5 doesn't seem different. So yeah I agree with you. Switch with better graphics is what we actually only need. Nintendo's selling point is its games, the one thing they could fight PC with is its games. I want a time where its Steam Deck vs Nintendo lol.
Like they did with the switch! No build up and a simply announcement the day before that the reveal trailer will debut the following day in a single x tweet! That's it!
I think right now I'm banking on a Switch reveal-style lifestyle trailer, followed by a direct within a month or so after the fact. They do the lifestyle trailer that shows off the new gimmicks, includes a few new game teasers, and maybe even showcases backwards compatibility. At the end of the trailer they put a graphic that announces a Nintendo Direct. I'm not sure if the direct would go over the hardware, games, or both. It could be a huge thing like the Nintendo Switch Presentation in January 2017, or it could be smaller. Maybe even split up into 2 different directs. One late in 2024, and one early in 2025. I'm not sure. But regardless of what they do, I feel pretty certain we'll get another lifestyle trailer.
Also, I think it's incredibly unlikely, but I'm REALLY hoping Nintendo is gonna start rolling out Nintendo Selects for the OG Switch. This is the perfect time to do it. It would advertise the backwards compatibility of the next system, and it would encourage people who aren't ready to upgrade to buy a bunch of new games. They can roll out a few each month, starting with the earliest titles. Breath of the Wild could get a definitive edition with quality of life features from Tears of the Kingdom, as well as the DLC automatically unlocked. If they aren't gonna update the original title, then the enhancements for running on Switch 2 could be part of the release as well.
It looks like they're setup to repeat what they did with the original switch with reveal and timing. Last scheduled game is January. If they reveal the console this month with a short teaser and then do a long presentation in January it would all line up.
you’re right on point that they will need to announce games alongside the console. therefore, we will likely have a “Switch 2 Direct” where they can go over hardware and announce a few titles. namely, the new 3D open world mario
They should have a direct and reveal the system alongside A new Mario Kart as a launch title. Mario Kart is popular amongst casuals and non-casuals and would garner even more hype.
I think, optimally, the Switch successor is largely iterative system (mostly just a beefier Switch) with maybe one major “gimmick” (i.e., small form factor change or additional mode of play to TV/tabletop/handheld). That way it gets the best of both worlds, in a way, as far as excitement about something new and familiarity with an established product. I could see dual-screen gaming being brought back somehow with the reports of fans in the successor system’s dock. As far as the reveal goes, I think two online video presentations back-to-back would make sense: an initial hardware showcase trailer followed by a litany of major games coming within the system’s launch window (ideally including 1st-party and 3rd-party releases).
Great video 👌🏻 I'm kinda thinking a Direct too, just showing all the upcoming games as usual... Then exec comes out and says "what if you could play all these games and more in 4K and 1080p in handheld.. please enjoy the following advertisement" (click-click) ✨
So I believe, and these aren’t real numbers just using to get the point across, that in the 1st half year of the Switch 2 like 75-90% of the games should be playable on Switch, the next year get that down to about half, then till the 2 yr anniversary there should mostly be Switch 2 exclusives. Mix in a price drop for the Switch and this give people time to transfer over at their own pace but also makes sure the original won’t cut into the successor’s sales. I think this gen has shown what happens when you release games to your previous consoles for too long. I’m sure even more PS5s would be sold if they stopped supporting PS4 after year 3 or so.
My bet is a twitt in the next 2-3 weeks with a date for a teaser trailer and then a timespan of like 1-2 weeks to give ppl time and reunite all the hype around it (see how that worked with rockstar), no more than 3 minutes, cuz i'm kinda confident the console will be both, an hybrid console and innovative at the same time (vr, ar or whatever), in the teaser nintendo would focus equlally on the gimnick and showing how much better its compared to the switch (idk, showing rdr2, elden ring or even crazier stuff running on it like they did with skyrim, as well as some new 5 secs clip of new nintendo games), then a full presentation in at the end of january or around that time, to release it on march/april
Most discussion seems to want an iterative system that carries over your old system, rather than a brand new start, and most of what I've seen of the leaks certainly points to that being the case. If that's what happens I believe the biggest likelihood is a more "direct" style presentation where games are slightly more of a focus, aince it doesn't seem like there will be any major hardware gimmicks that needs to be explained. "Switch but stronger" seems to be the thing here, so they'll market the games over the tech. What I really wonder is WHEN they'll start marketing it. I don't think Nintendo cares super-much if they depress desire for a new Switch in this holiday season since I feel like they have made their peace with the Switch being the (current) third best-selling console ever and they'd rather focus on making sure there's a solid hype-cycle leading up to it's release... but that presupposes the Switch successor will release on the Switche's anniversary and they need to reveal it about six months before release like with the Switch. But will they want to do that? The circumstances are pretty different now from what they were back then. Will they try and hold out for the Switch 2 until November like the PS5 Pro is, in an attempt to make it THE big holiday seller? I don't know. I dare not even speculate.
I’m of the mind that this coming generation Nintendo will want to make a stronger case for third party support. When the Switch came out, this was dwindling to non-existent. That’s no longer the case and I’d think that Nintendo, despite always standing on its own, would at least want to make a strong reference to third party support with a flagship title present at the launch lineup.
I cant wait for switch 2, PC + switch 2 will be perfect combo since I will have every game avaible and I hope when there will be many 3rd party games ported to switch 2, there will be cross save across pc and switch like with witcher 3 (even tough i dont have any nintendo console, its great feature to have)
Sure, as long as I'm able to - Nintendo has a track record of announcing things when I'm away for work and can't react. But I'll certainly do response videos when I can.
I hope (and I think it's possible) Nintendo will use Pokémon Legends Z-A to showcase the new console as a way to show its power, something like "hey, look how powerful Switch 2 is, even GameFreak now can do a great game with huge graphics and performance as well"
TPC (The Pokemon Company) rarely supports the new system within its first two years, they released Sun and Moon on the last year of 3DS support lol. Though if we're going to the "Switch with PS4 graphics" route, then surely TPC will just release it on both consoles. Though GameFreak is quite a... liability (and Nintendo only gets a portion, a huge one, but just a portion of the revenue compared to their own games like Metroid Prime 4 or the new 3D Mario which will surely be more quality... hopefully).
But Pokemon never did a cross-gen game. the closest are the mystery dungeon games in GBA and DS. I believe the next-gen Pokemon will be a Switch 2 exclusive
Sure, I’m excited for the reveal, but I’m mostly wanted to happen just so we can move on. I’m tired of all the speculation and waiting. No other company makes their fans wait this long and honestly, it’s kind of exhausting being an Nintendo fan at this point.
I think you mean it's exhausting being a hardcore fan, because the Switch 2 discussion is a niche topic in the fanbase. The large majority of the Switch consumer base don't stay online lurking forums and subreddits every week to know about the next Nintendo console (and sometimes i envy them 😅).
It's pretty even for me between Jan/Feb and Oct/Nov but I'm cooling on October since if they have any leeway at all in their production schedule to delay the announcement they're going to want to do so as there's the Japanese snap election, US elections and natural disasters in the US and Vietnam plus numerous other crises. It's just a terrible time to get eyeballs on a new console announcement. Of course, if the machine is sufficiently far along they probably don't have much flex because of partnership agreements.
At this point I think they may just be focusing on fixing flaws of the original Switch. Tbf, the original Switch had quite a few of those compared to previous systems, but software-wise it seems like Nintendo just hasn’t bothered when previously they did.
my uncle wirks at nintendo he says switch 2 game yoshi will finally kill mario is was like "noway" he was just all "look at the signs!!" and started crying :(
I will watch every Nintendo Switch 2 video but we got to a point where we are already out of things to talk and speculate about. JUST REVEAL THE DAMN THING ALREADY, NINTENDO!
Haven't they been revealing a blueprint on how NOT to reveal new game hardware? * Moved expected September Direct up to August, leaving the month open for a lot of hype that went entirely unfulfilled. * Emptied the month of September, allowing main competitor (Sony) to make not one, not two, but THREE different hardware release announcements of their own. (PS5 Pro, 30th Anniversary sets, limited edition controllers.) * People start thinking about early Christmas shopping in October, as evidenced by this week's Prime Big Deal Days and Target Circle Week. If there was any worry that a September reveal could damage holiday sales, then an October reveal is clearly much worse. (I don't really subscribe to holiday sales being impacted much either way, but some people put a lot of stock into it.) * Not announcing it prior to one of the big three gaming conventions in Tokyo Game Show, denying an opportunity for third parties to pitch their 2025 games coming to system. Any successful system needs healthy third-party support, and not letting them advertise at TGS may have ruffled some feathers. (Not such a problem in 2016 when Nintendo had much weaker third-party participation.) * Lack of clarity regarding 2025 title timing. What if they don't announce new system until March, with release for October or so? We already know Nintendo typically does two big releases and one smaller release a quarter, with perhaps one more game to go with the system launch (along with a lot of third-party titles, but these may be ports from PS5/PS5/Xbox.) We know Metroid and Pokemon are two big releases; if the system were to come out in October, that leaves very little room for the next Mario 3D, or next Mario Kart, or next Splatoon, or next Kirby, or next Monolithsoft game. (Might not see these anyway, but I think we can be sure at least one or two of those is coming.) If S2 doesn't really take off until 2026, that's leaving a large gap in 2025 where the Switch 1 games may be very 'meh' and the competitors look stronger. (Sony is putting together a pretty powerful 2025 lineup.) I'm frankly surprised at how bad the Nintendo public relations/marketing department is handling this. The only excuse I've been able to fathom is that there's been a disaster on the hardware side that would delay release well into second half and software teams are unprepared for how to deal with such a large gap, with consideration of spacing the February release and future games farther apart to compensate. But the recent rumors that its has gone into physical production and that the trailer video was recorded seem to dispel that excuse. If both are true, then there really isn't any excuse other than to say Nintendo played the September lead-up about as badly as they possibly could have.
Outside the Nintendo RUclips bubble, most people aren't fixated on announcement timing and by promising to reveal this financial year, they've set expectations quite reasonably. Meanwhile, there are major events going on in the world at present - the Japanese snap election, the US elections, natural disasters in Vietnam and the US and a lot more besides - which might give them pause for all sorts of reasons.
@@nintendoforecast The Japanese election, yes, because of some economic decisions. The Vietnam floods, yes, because of manufacturing. The trading value of the yen you've brought up in earlier videos, yes, because of revenue expectations. The rest they shouldn't concern themselves with so much that it affects their major business decisions. They just can't wait around forever to pick the ideal date when there's no elections, perfect financial stability, and the least chance of natural disasters - such a day may never come and at some point they have to bite the bullet and just hope something major doesn't happen within the next 24-48 hours. And Sony isn't waiting around - they're moving forward in the same political and economic climate. Nintendo is certainly more cautious, but can't be so cautious that they're needlessly surrendering market share. Sony looks like they're going to have the best holiday in five years with Astro Bot leading a lineup going into a powerhouse lineup in 2025 featuring multiple 5 million plus sellers, while Nintendo's going to have their worst holiday in a decade with only Pokemon Z-A down the line as a certain 5M title. Nintendo needs to be presenting an alternative that their lineup is going to be more competitive than we know it to be now, and I really don't think we can wait until mid-January to find out. (Just from a practical standpoint, the preorders for the February and March titles should be underway by then.)
Sony revealed the PS5 Pro very close indeed to its release though. Nintendo will have their own internal hard deadline but in the ten year view, whether they announce this quarter or next is unlikely to be too consequential.
@@nintendoforecast Agree that the actual hardware reveal matters little to Nintendo's bottom line over a long period of time. But game sales matter a lot short-term and we have little idea beyond a three month window. If no hardware reveal this month, why move out of September? Why not just keep the September Direct, potentially announcing the February or March game as well. There was no significant game launching digitally the same day as the August Direct (Goat Simulator 3 and Castlevania Dominus Collection) so moving up to August seems otherwise arbitrary. The only valid reason to move up to August is to support a big same-day digital release (which didn't happen) or because there's something substantial to say in September or October. Moving up to August with no plan to follow up was an open invitation to Sony to steal the Switch2's thunder. (Sony blew it, but Nintendo couldn't have predicted it would be the PR disaster it was.) And if neither a hardware reveal or games reveal, are we not going to find out the February release until mid-January, with only a 4-5 week lead time before release? That sounds like a Nintendo World Championships NES Edition or Emio the Smiling Man type of release, with basically no preorder period and both pulling down rather dismal sales for first party titles. If they don't tell us in October that there's something better in February and March, they likely aren't in November or December either, so it would likely mean at least the February release is going to be another low seller, and perhaps the March game as well. (With one of the two months likely taken by a NWC: SNES Edition.) Having the published games for December, January, February, and maybe March likely all under the two-million sales mark Nintendo claims as financially viable is not a great outlook. Nintendo may be looking merely to break even or absorb a little bit of loss on these three or four games. And with Switch sales suddenly dropping off hard after the holidays, that could make for a really ugly winter quarter. Nintendo doesn't like to post quarterly losses but they're looking at one now. Brighter days ahead with Switch 2 and a new Pokemon game, but it may be a bit of a desert before we reach that oasis.
I absolutely do not want gen 10 to be cross gen. Considering how much of a system seller Pokemon is, it would make way more sense to be next gen only to get people to invest in the new gen system. Don't do what Microsoft and Sony are doing by prolonging the old gen because of its install size. Gen 10 being on the Switch means there is a limit on how much progress they could make visually and technically. I don't want another SV scenario.
the gaming industry really does not need a technical and graphical jump. We need a cultural shift away from passion killing monster games that take decades, eat billions and are played for 100s of hours towards smaller games that can be iterated upon more easily.
@@ruolbu but nintendo is not at that point yet. The Switch is not even close to the vcr xbox in terms of its capabilities. So, their games have way more room to wow us visually and technically going forward. Hanging on to Switch for too long would be a detriment to the series actually progressing past what SWSh,PLA, and SV did.

It would not surprise me, if they reveal the successor this or next month with only teasing some games. My reasoning is, that partner and other developers can use the Game Awards to advertise there games for the next Nintendo console or at least Nintendo can used it for them self to show one or two game teaser, like a new Zelda, or even a trailer of a almost finished game. After the Game Awards we get the full release line-up, maybe end December to be excited for the next year or as late as possible in February or March.

@@riventv4927 Pokemon Legends A-Z is a launch year title, based on the last entry, I would say it's pretty big.
The game lineup is key here
I don’t think the marketing will rely on gimmicks unless Nintendo thought of something really cool.
Showing new ambitious games with amazing visuals might be all Nintendo needs
I’m happy to wait, still got a hell of a Switch backlog to clear
Yeah, I must admit, I feel a bit this way.
Real I gotta get on it, I was just thinking about it
Mt personal thoughts on the matter are that Nintendo needs to show DEFINITIVELY what the new system is and why existing Switch owners will want to buy it.
I know this is just another comment in the sea, but I have genuinely love absorbing all that you have to say in your videos :D
Thank you!
Just saying, if this actually happens, you will win the internet for all time.
I don't think this is a possibility, but I am loving the world you create in which it is.
Hopefully these questions are answered sooner than later.
Like they did with the switch! No build up and a simply announcement the day before that the reveal trailer will debut the following day in a single x tweet! That's it!
Nintendo Forecast: comprehensive video on how Nintendo should reveal the Switch 2
Nintendo: Best I can do is an alarm clock.
If they reveal the console this month with a short teaser and then do a long presentation in January it would all line up.
you’re right on point that they will need to announce games alongside the console. therefore, we will likely have a “Switch 2 Direct” where they can go over hardware and
announce a few titles. namely, the new 3D open world mario
Super Mario 3D Galaxy lol
They should have a direct and reveal the system alongside A new Mario Kart as a launch title. Mario Kart is popular amongst casuals and non-casuals and would garner even more hype.
Dammit man, you had me for a moment thinking they had revealed it when I saw the thumbnail🤣
Thanks for the tutorial. I’ll get right on it.
What a coincidence it was one day before the announcement
Walmart Canada seems to tease something about a possible Nintendo Direct on X/Twitter 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I cant wait for switch 2, PC + switch 2 will be perfect combo since I will have every game avaible and I hope when there will be many 3rd party games ported to switch 2, there will be cross save across pc and switch like with witcher 3 (even tough i dont have any nintendo console, its great feature to have)
Will you be doing a reaction/breakdown of the reveal when it does happen?
Sure, as long as I'm able to - Nintendo has a track record of announcing things when I'm away for work and can't react. But I'll certainly do response videos when I can.
@@nintendoforecast QUICK! GO TO WORK SO THAT WE CAN GET A SWITCH 2 ANNOUNCEMENT ALREADY! HAHAHA!
Though GameFreak is quite a... liability (and Nintendo only gets a portion, a huge one, but just a portion of the revenue compared to their own games like Metroid Prime 4 or the new 3D Mario which will surely be more quality... hopefully).
Spill the beans already Nintendo! Pretty please with a double cherry on top!
Yeh. It's time to flip the Switch.
I'm just tired of pol taking about it
I think you mean it's exhausting being a hardcore fan, because the Switch 2 discussion is a niche topic in the fanbase. The large majority of the Switch consumer base don't stay online lurking forums and subreddits every week to know about the next Nintendo console (and sometimes i envy them 😅).
I’m at a point where I only want it to happen to stop the speculation. Not happening before next year though
I feel like the idea of the Switch’s successor has been floating around in my head since early 2021.
what would be your forecast on the month of announcement ?
It's pretty even for me between Jan/Feb and Oct/Nov but I'm cooling on October since if they have any leeway at all in their production schedule to delay the announcement they're going to want to do so as there's the Japanese snap election, US elections and natural disasters in the US and Vietnam plus numerous other crises. It's just a terrible time to get eyeballs on a new console announcement. Of course, if the machine is sufficiently far along they probably don't have much flex because of partnership agreements.
Thing is, unless they announce the Switch 2 or have a General Direct, what are they gonna show investors at their next meeting November 5th?
we will be watching
At this point I think they may just be focusing on fixing flaws of the original Switch. Tbf, the original Switch had quite a few of those compared to previous systems, but software-wise it seems like Nintendo just hasn’t bothered when previously they did.
Switch 2 trailer starts with Kendrick Lamar playing def jam vendetta 3 with his family
I think Dual screen gaming is better than the switch it actually adds something to the gameplay.
Do you think they could show, first for the reveal, the games and the name of the new system without showing the hardware if it's just iterative?
That was my initial expectation but I feel like they'd have started teasing games by now if they were going to.
Not impossible, but having visuals of the console would generate more publicity.
Inb4 we get no news until 2025
my uncle wirks at nintendo he says switch 2 game yoshi will finally kill mario is was like "noway" he was just all "look at the signs!!" and started crying :(
The answer is in January after they get to sell the switch for yet another holiday season.........
I will watch every Nintendo Switch 2 video but we got to a point where we are already out of things to talk and speculate about. JUST REVEAL THE DAMN THING ALREADY, NINTENDO!
Switch 2 reveal timing:
February/March 2025!
It’s right around the corner!
Hey buddy who’s doing the forecasting here…
@@sunxnes lmao
Switch 2 release timing:
August 2026
@@MrUncanny234 💀
Haven't they been revealing a blueprint on how NOT to reveal new game hardware?
* Moved expected September Direct up to August, leaving the month open for a lot of hype that went entirely unfulfilled.
* Emptied the month of September, allowing main competitor (Sony) to make not one, not two, but THREE different hardware release announcements of their own. (PS5 Pro, 30th Anniversary sets, limited edition controllers.)
* People start thinking about early Christmas shopping in October, as evidenced by this week's Prime Big Deal Days and Target Circle Week. If there was any worry that a September reveal could damage holiday sales, then an October reveal is clearly much worse. (I don't really subscribe to holiday sales being impacted much either way, but some people put a lot of stock into it.)
* Not announcing it prior to one of the big three gaming conventions in Tokyo Game Show, denying an opportunity for third parties to pitch their 2025 games coming to system. Any successful system needs healthy third-party support, and not letting them advertise at TGS may have ruffled some feathers. (Not such a problem in 2016 when Nintendo had much weaker third-party participation.)
* Lack of clarity regarding 2025 title timing. (Sony is putting together a pretty powerful 2025 lineup.)
I'm frankly surprised at how bad the Nintendo public relations/marketing department is handling this.
(Sony blew it, but Nintendo couldn't have predicted it would be the PR disaster it was.)
And if neither a hardware reveal or games reveal, are we not going to find out the February release until mid-January, with only a 4-5 week lead time before release?
Nintendo is too busy destroying Switch emulation and future preservation attempts to get ready to reveal new hardware.
We need a cultural shift away from passion killing monster games that take decades, eat billions and are played for 100s of hours towards smaller games that can be iterated upon more easily.
sv is awesome though
@@ruolbu but nintendo is not at that point yet. The Switch is not even close to the vcr xbox in terms of its capabilities. So, their games have way more room to wow us visually and technically going forward. Hanging on to Switch for too long would be a detriment to the series actually progressing past what SWSh,PLA, and SV did.
They will first talk about Switch 2 in March 2025, they have no reason to talk about it this year.
The Switch's successor will be revealed between Jan-Mar 2025 and released Nov 2025. 100%. Mark my words.
Please, stop using AI generated voice overs in your videos, it's annoying and I don't like it.

Sorry, that's just my voice! I sometimes use an AI tool to clean up the sound to cut down echo etc - if you go back to the very early videos on my channel you can see what it's like without it and I think it's an improvement.
