    Barry, not sure if you'll see this... Look for titanium reusable straws. They (sadly) don't sell as well because they're much more expensive, but they don't add any flavor. Mine had a bit of funk the first time, but I scrubbed it out really well after and ever since then it's prefectly clean. They also make silicon nibs for the end of reusable straws, which make them more pleasant feeling and prevent "tongue on metal" taste.

    • @CarinaCoffee
      @CarinaCoffee 5 лет назад +6

      Oh this is helpful! I hope we get to the point were restaurants will just offer glas straws which they can wash in the dishwasher, but for on the go reasons titanium straws will be really helpful.

    • @TehSlan
      @TehSlan 5 лет назад +9

      @@CarinaCoffee I dare say I prefer my titanium with the nib over plastic now. I can stir drinks with it, smash ice, and drink thick shakes and smoothies without it collapsing.
      Reusable at restaurants would be nice but properly cleaning the inside is a bite. You could automate it, but if you don't want to deal with brushes, it might just come down to boiling them to sterilize them, since a standard dishwasher wouldn't get "in" enough.

    • @Gilmoriel

    The egg timer might be designed to work with you putting the eggs into the cold water, bring it to a boil and then using the timer. I‘ve used the „bring eggs to a boil then sit them in the hot water off the stove for six minutes“ version for the perfect soft boiled egg, or 5.5 minutes in boiling water for the perfect ramen egg. But there‘s also apps that factor in altitude, egg size, egg temperature and whether it‘s the cold/boiling water method.

    I used to have a hamster called Spudgun. He hibernated multiple times a year and was the size of a man's fist. Absolute unit.

    Barry do you think you could do an episode dedicated to gadgets that help those with disabilities? I’m developing some grip issues in my hands and certain regular things hurt me. (Like cracking an ice cube tray) i know they make something called a non stick ice cube tray, or something like that on amazon. But the reviews aren’t very trust worthy and I’d love to know if it works.

    In America, we had those kids bowls. Called them gyro bowls, like a gyroscope. They work great for dry snacks. I never thought to put actual baby foods in them. The lid makes them easy to take on the go, and the little handles are perfect for toddlers carrying them. 😉🥰

    I guess that strainer doesn't really function any differently from a regular colander at the end of the day, but it does seem like it would take up much less space in the cabinet

    Believe it or not buzzfeed tasty gave me a great hack to make hard boiled eggs easier to peel. The woman brought the water up to a boil, then for ten seconds dipped the eggs in brought them back out and then put them back into to cook the rest of the way. Then when they were done she put them in a very cold ice bath. It worked a charm an absolute charm, I made brown eggs which are notoriously hard to peel and they came off in one go.

    Elvis works started in cold and boiling water, it doesn’t matter. He plays every song 2-3 times, so you have the choice between e.g. soft medium, medium medium or hard medium, soft hard, medium hard and titanium-egg

    I know this is a gadget review but I'm gonna leave this recipe idea for your 4321 series here before I forget about it- what we call a chocolate eclair pie around my home. All you need is graham crackers, about six cups of vanilla pudding (french vanilla if you can get it prepackaged), and chocolate fudge frosting. Start with a layer of the whole crackers on the bottom of the dish, followed by a layer of pudding. Repeat until you have three layers of pudding, topping it with one last layer of graham crackers on top. Cover that layer with a container of prepackaged chocolate fudge frosting. Refrigerate for at least four hours.

    I bought the Gyro Bowl (that's what it was called in the US) for one of my nieces daughters and it was a complete failure. Babies don't gently hold and move things. They fling them wildly. Give that a try with the chocolate pudding and see how it goes. :D

    I think you could adjust the height of the steamer basket with the pleats, to fit your pan. I really want that steamer basket - going to check it out using your link ☺
