    I own two of those Bonklips (2nd came with a French watch attached). They are awesome! The Bonklip - as already discussed - is somewhat notorious for its mere slide-in buckle but in over a year of frequent use I have never had it open unintentionally. I hadn’t even noticed that the buckle doesn’t lock like the Forstner apparently does. For the buckle to actually slide out I need to wear the watch pimp-style with two fingers space. That Junghans on the Bonnie is a stunner!

    I have the Tropic brand straps and they have those flat ends which I honestly can’t stand. I didn’t realize that until after I got them. Definite liking these straps 👍🏽

      They (Tropic brand) did update the 20mm to have a rolled edge, like the 22mm but hard to confirm before purchase that you'll get the newest stock

    Joseph Bonnie is the best tropic strap I have ever tried. Love it and I do like it much more than the original Tropic

    How have I never heard of bonklip bracelets before? I happen to own the same Junghans Max Bill, and it looks great on it. Thanks for the review!

    Krementz in the USA also made Bonklip style bracelets in the 1940's. Have one for 16mm lug width.

    Steller straps. Have you handled the Forstner Bonklip? If so, how does it compare to this one by Joseph Bonnie?

    That tropic definitely does not fit a 7.5inch wrist. It's about 5-10mm too short and the short side is way too short for it to be balanced right underneath the wrist. The tropic branded tropic strap is appropriately sized

    It looks a little thick at the buckle end (doesn’t seem to taper). Is this an issue?

    • @AverageBros
      @AverageBros  Год назад +1

      I does taper but thickens back up to offer reinforcement around the buckle, so it's a non-issue for me.

    Thats the same bracelet SERICA uses, the problem with it is that you can not wear it on the lose side because it will come undone. Fostner has a better designed clasp system that won’t come undone.

      Can confirm. The Bonklip bracelet looks and feels amazing on wrist, but it's quite easy to dislodge the fastening tab if it brushes up against something.

      the simple design did give me pause but I've been wearing in quite securely

      @@AverageBros if you like wearing bracelets snug it works fine but if you are like me and like to easily slip a finger under the bracelet for sizing it will come lose

      @@canadianwatchmonkey3992 I get what you mean, I like to have some space on my bracelets too but with the way this is designed, not sure how it could be comfortably worn loosely, a sit needs to sit pretty flush against the wrist and with the flexibility, it's more comfortable, even on the tighter side, just my experience though.

      @@AverageBros For regular wear, the Bonklip is totally secure like 90% of the time. To be fair, the times when the Bonklip on my Serica 4512 came undone, I was doing relatively active stuff (cutting down a tree in my yard, playing basketball) and probably should've been wearing a G-Shock lol. But it also came loose once just by brushing up against my pants when I was getting my keys out of my pocket. I put the Serica on a Forstner bracelet, and now use the Bonklip on varied 'occasion' vintage watches.
