I can't even look at glue traps. I have major PTSD from those. I had one under my bed and the mouse got caught on it. The wiggling from the mouse caused it to move from under my bed to where I walk. I didn't see it in the dark and stepped on it and my foot got stuck with the live mouse!! I can barely type this comment. Omfg it was horrible. 😭😭😭

Aw no, that's horrible 😢 I moved a trap in my bedroom. My son and i lived alone and there eas a mouse running around the room. It went on it but was almost getting off it. I put a newspaper over it and hit it with my slipper. Sounds awful, but that was the end of it lol 😂😂

Glue traps must be the most horrific death for rodents.
I had used a few for bugs after we got our house sprayed and accidentally caught 2 skinks in one. A baby and an adult. Both had ripped their skin and tails off trying to escape. They were both still alive when I checked the traps 3 days after placing them, too.
I spent 20 minutes freeing one with cooking oil and q tips.
No joke... senior year of college the house next door (4 women) had a couple mice so the landlord puts down 2 or 3 glue traps. It caught a mouse and they had no idea what to do. One of their boyfriends came over and what they came up with was to throw it in a pizza box, put it behind a car tire and reverse over it. They then also burned the whole thing afterwards lol..

Years ago I had a trash hoarding neighbor, he would throw all of his trash in the backyard, which brought in massive sewer rats. Instead of seeing an occasional bunny cross the street you'd see the rats. They started hanging out in our garage because it was winter and our dog food was right next to the door. The same one chased me and my friend on two separate times. Our land lord gave us a metal trap to put next to the entry point, I put glue traps around and on top of it just in case it was to smart for the cage. My dog was staying in the garage that night because of a leg injury and when I came home the next morning from work, it was dead. It got stuck on the glue trap next to the cage, my dog cornered it, and my other roommate used our wood axe to kill it. We started feeding the tom cats outside and adopted farmhouse cats to help protect the house and get rid of the problem. Once I learned about the neighbor down the street, I called the city on him and they closed the house down and brought out exterminators. The rats were eventually killed off.

If you try to catch a rat, have two glue boards placed beside each other coz if they try to get away, the other glue trap will back it up.
I baited my glue board with a cookie and a kit kat and caught the little critter in the first hour of placing in at night. I put it in a box until i could release it somewhere in the morning. My mom wanted to get rid of it immediately, never seen her so freaked out ever.
I just caught a decent sized rat in my shed. I baited it with frosted cereal and put it smack in the middle right there on the floor. 👍🏼
I had a mouse in my room when I was 14. Dad gave me a glue trap, caught it with in 5 hrs. I felt super bad for it when I threw it in the trash cause it was still alive. Only used spring traps after that cause at least its a quick death.

I had a serious mice problem, they were running all over the kitchen at night around our stove and such. Set one of these bad boys and managed to capture 15 of them in one day. Absolute insanity.

If youre an exterminator worth your salt, you don't use glue boards on rats at all. Theyll run off em with em stuck to each other and do some 127 hours shit to get free. Just use a snapper.

Saw a Brooklyn rice warehouse with rats, establishment put bulk glue on opened cardboard boxes and every night they covered palletizing rice with them. In morning so many rats caught that it resembled fur covered boxes the size of the rice pallets .

I’ve caught about 20 mice. I use an regular small trap, and put a Cheeto Puff in the middle, they LOVE Cheetos Puffs

Be prepared for screaming rodents, I used a glue trap until I caught a mouse and that sucker did not die quickly. Now I use either snap traps or an electric rat trap for larger rodents.
Those boards are a cruel way for any animal to die and they catch more than mice and rats.

Mice Specifically are sometimes too small and can eat the food off the traps without setting them off and if you do catch them it’s only one at a time. I just caught 3 mice on one trap so it’s really the best way to go and if you feel bad then remember they’re shitting every where and possibly have diseases

Best tip is to not touch the traps with your bare hands. They smell your scent and won’t go near it

I always had 100%luck with a glue board on each side of a snap trap in a corner usually the snap gets them if the glue doesn't catch them first.
This is how you safely free a rat or Mouse from a glue trap because those things are cruel. Use either olive oil or baby oil and have it touching the rodent that stuck to the sticky trap. Make sure it doesn't go in their nose because again drowned them.

I don’t have rats but I do get mice here and there . The glue traps with peanut butter work awesome . But I don’t buy the mouse traps . I buy the big black ones like your showing and it gets the mice just fine
remember once we caught a mouse on a glue trap... then another mouse came up and got stuck too and started eating the first one... man was that traumatic... poor things
Tip: Use a 12 pack can cardboard one end left closed one open , snack on closed side , slide in the sticky trap, use the wide ones then they have to walk over. $.99 cent store has them in 2/4 packs. Its works every single time.

These glue traps are so old that mice’s and rats are jumping right over them
Glue traps work well, baited or not. Caught 20 mice in a week with 4 small ones that I reused. Getting the mouse unstick isn’t so hard with a stick. Basically painless. I set em all free.

You should try a 5 gallon bucket with peanut butter smeared around the top and some four inches down it works really well

My cat just brings them to me partially alive, then I kill them with a fast blow to the head or neck. While I do agree glue traps can be used inhumanely, if you have a lot of mice it’s okay to use glue boards as long as you make sure your pets can’t get to them and as soon as you catch the mice, kill it RIGHT AWAY so it isn’t suffering. Otherwise you could always try snap traps I’ve used those too but they can be really stressful and they won’t catch as many mice. Live and release ones are useless, because they will come back if you don’t take them more than 2 miles away, and if you do, they’ll just invade somebody else’s home. So they gotta die
Actually you wanna use live traps that don't hurt animals, especially mammals, because they definitely feel pain and stress similar to us.

If a mouse gets on a glue trap and you haven’t checked them in a while, there will be just bones and fur left
If you want to catch them with a glue trap but not kill them, use dawn dish soap and a chop stick to help get them off.
Make sure your glue traps are where your dogs or cats can’t get to them. If there face gets stuck to it they can suffocate

Glue trap are just horrible. Either use a kill trap or live. Stuck dying of dehydration an/or hypothermia is just cruel. In addition some rip their skin off trying to escape, causing them to expire in a secluded place like behind your oven 🤢

Don't use glue traps they're unnecessarily cruel. I know they're mice and rats but have you ever seen a mouse skin itself when they are stuck? Just use a regular trap, it kills them quickly.

I don't know about Rats but I've used the Glue trap for Mice and they worked excellent. I had that problem years ago in a place I had rented. Told the landlords and nothing was ever done.

I got nothing agains traps EXCEPT for glue traps. Theyre downright sadistic. Leaving a small animal to starve to death as it breaks its own bones in a desperate attempt to escape. Its downright cruel. Just use rodenticide or snapper traps. Quick and mostly painless.
