Also, I know someone's already pointed out that the plural of life is lives, not loaves, but shouldn't the symbol for those irregular plurals be /z/ rather than /iz/?

In the United States, I often hear public speakers and politicians in particular exhibiting a phonological processing error called final consonant devoicing; they don’t use voice on final consonants where it should be used. I wonder if that occurs in the UK? President Obama and President George W Bush devoiced their final consonants frequently. Love your work!

The only difference I noticed as an American English speaker was that I sometimes pronounce moths with the z sound.
@@zarraenla /th/ is a voiceless consonant so you should say /s/ not /z/ with it. So, it’s moth/s/ not moth/z/.
@@vcubed7275 When I pronounce the z sound I also voice the th sound. Kind of like the difference between wolf and wolves.
