Someone who tows a fair size boat said the 2.8 litre diesel shits all over the 3.0 litre diesel. I believe him as he went from a low milage 3.0 to a 2.8 Hilux. How is the 2.8l working out for ya! Now for the big question. What problems do you foresee owning an import be it 3.0 or a 2.8. Mechanic wise and insurance wise? I hear lots of arguments that owning an import is a big no-no due to insurance being a killer price? also engine maintenance is it the same as local 2.8 or not? I am looking for answers from the horse's mouth as it were! Regards Peter.
Hi there! Yes the power is well worth it! As far as insurance I’ve had no dramas, and mechanical is not as bad as it seems, it’s actually very similar to local models and worst case scenario you just order the parts from Japan or any other Asian country :)
Lot more place then the troupy 78 that’s why I choose the I hace no top tent that’s economic Ok question qu’est place to buy a good rear and front Bull bar and winch for the hi ace 2024 thanks Bob Laos

Could you share the importer info?

Are you in Australia Bob? If so there is a guy who imports front and rear steel bars for the hiace.
Good👍
Thanks 👍🏻
Is it a real 4wd?
They are both full time 4WD yes, they use the same diff as a hilux and have a similar traction control system to the land cruiser prado
You can watch it off-roading in this video 4WD Hiace off-road adventure, 4x4 van life
