  • An iPhone 13 mini video of my Tim Reede Cittern (which I have named “Awen”)
    Adirondack spruce top, lattice bracing, koa back and sides, bloodwood trim, mahogany / maple neck with ebony fingerboard
    Using a Herco Flex 50 plectrum (approx .65mm (yesterday i used a Pro-Plec 1.5mm pick) it is also very responsive to fingerstyle playing

    Notes From Tim Reede:
    “Here is something different for me. You could call it a long scale cittern or a five course bouzouki. I designed it with lattice bracing which is new for me, an oval sound hole and rosette, also a first for me, and a new neck joint and new headstock shape. The woods used here are torrefied Adirondack spruce and koa with bloodwood binding and some figured maple in the neck and an ebony fingerboard. The headstock and tuning machines were chosen to reduce the weight of the neck. It is 15” wide. The scale length is 25.5", tuned DGDAD”
