He actually wrote an entire physics textbook where he goes into the math in lots of detail. I don't have the link, but hopefully he'll see this comment and post it.
Where're the clones? It's due time u finally make a Q&A with the clones and share their perspectives on how it feels to "work" with u and all that stuff. Are u treating ur clones well? or u been doing some scientific experiments on them in ur basement..... Time to answer some real questions.
I'm so glad to hear that the channel is so doing well enough that both of you were able to quite your job and do RUclips full-time. It's also awesome that you're able to work together and be partners. You guys are such a cute couple.
This is great, seeing people who should be together and are and are loving it. I'm very not gay and Nick wouldn't be my type if I was but I have to admit to a man-crush on him. Every Science Asylum video should have tens of millions of views, for the info, insight, intelligence, humor and ability to reach the less intelligent/knowledgeable legions without dumbing down/talking down to us. You're actually earning every cent you might make here....such a rare achievement.
You might directly ask your audience(which includes me) through a youtube poll if you wish, if they enjoy math as it takes topics a little more deep. Anyway I enjoy your content a lot and also understand that everyone doesnt like math. But I think many people who enjoy physics would also love mathematical depth associated with it, well atleast a little bit. Best wishes.
Thanks Em!! For making the Science Asylum so much better of a channel! 👍³ (I'm not sure about that sentence lol it doesn't sound right, when reading it back to myself. 😇)
6:34 You've managed a lot more than that. Your channel is the reason I'm so into QM and part of the reason I'm into physics in general. It's had a large positive influence on my life and I know I'm not the only one. I've learned _so much_ science from you over the past several years. Your videos are also so upbeat and fun to watch that they've helped me feel better many times when I was just feeling really stressed out. Keep up the great work Nick and know you're improving lives by sharing knowing in such an awesome way!
it's really awesome to hear that the channel is supporting both of you these days. you guys are the best kind of success story: good people succeeding doing a thing that they're really really good at!
I read somewhere that comments sometimes help creators get their videos higher on the "suggestions" list. If true, then as a "supporter" I feel that part goes along with my end of the bargain. So I'm proudly part of that 1%. Glad Amazing M doesn't have to navigate our local interstate highway during reconstruction getting to work in the mornings.
I can't remember when I saw you for the first time, but I'm really proud of what you are now and that you can live out of what you love. Not much people can say that. Keep it up. I'm really happy for you.
Congratulations on getting your channel big enough to make a living! You both deserve it with all the hard work you have put in scienceassylum. Math is amazing to know..but I do believe the concepts are much more forthcoming without it...not saying I don't appreciate the math, I most certainly love those videos that include it, but the concept and your explanation is gold! I'm a Crazy for life!
I think, There are two different kinds of Math. Most people think Math is „quantitative“ (Numbers, formulas, calculations etc.). But there is an even much more important part (my opinion), which is of „qualitative“ nature. It deals with the logical connections behind the scene. (For example: Can a harmonic field on a Full Torus have Zeros?) I see a lot of this kind of Math in your videos. People who are scared of Math just don‘t notice and go on watching. Ok. I am not used to click Likes. For me, it feels like looking directly in the eyes of the author. I guess, I have to do a little training to overcome this threshhold. I viewed a lot of your videos, I liked all of them and I am eager to see the rest. Go on!
I think I might have commented on at least one of your videos. I'm not the best at higher math but I get physics and science in general conceptually rather well. Your videos have helped clarify holes in my understanding. Thank You.
I am one of these non-commenters (but I am commenting now so... contradiction?). What I love most of the Science Asylum is how you make comprehensible some hard topics, you find the "better nonsense" to help me understand what everybody means with "spacetime curvature" or "quantum field". I appreciate math doesn't get in the way. I am aware that those concepts come from math, but for me, it's more interesting to get the idea rather than how we got that idea from deriving some equations. I think you are great doing this. That said, if you had the time and will, I would love to have both. For example, a video about why the Poynting vector is a product and not another thing, or where did Newton got that gravitational constant, I woluld gladly watch. Thanks for the good job.
i really feel good when i see you and hear you. I felt alone all my life, almost, but when i am aware of such nice people, i cant despair. I am not joking, life is hard but at least if we can appreciate its beauty we have good moments to share, again thank you.
This is something I've been admiring in all the QnA videos , Emily's hairstyle is so stylish🤩🤩 being a girl with a boycut myself, I'm in love with her hairstyle ❤️
I find it interesting that the people who are extremely moved (one way or another) are the main group who comments. I wonder if there's a similar curve representing the commentary we receive in real life.
I'm sure that's true. This is a human thing, not an internet thing. As we get older, we go from caring what people think of us... to not caring what they think... to _eventually_ realizing that most people weren't thinking about us to begin with.
I dunno about that Mr. Herman...I comment much more often, readily on stuff I hate, despise, etc. Hmm. But now I have described such trash as if I WERE extremely moved by it....and I suppose I am, for about 90 seconds per. On the other hand, have been an avid watcher of this guy's videos for years.
Sounds like an opportunity to create a second math-focused channel?!? ;-) ... What baffles me is hat you currently have 8800 subs and from what I understand is that both of you are living off from what this channel makes. So, the number of views is one thing but I would have expected a higher number of followers to be enough for making a living out of it. hmmm... Dang... just saw that this is the other channel. So, ScienceAsylum has >400k. That explains it... (didn't want to delete the whole comment).
Yeah, this is my personal / "just for fun" channel. It's for stuff (like these Q&As) that don't really belong on the main channel. I'm so used to people knowing me from that channel first that sometimes I forget the videos from this channel could be someone's first exposure to me. I've added a pop-out link and an end-card link to the video that go to the main channel.
Wow! A big production now!! Math wow yeah - Khan Academy & similar is a certain use that I’m sure is being combined with many of your episodes for more understanding bla bla bla - thanks wow neat to hear about all of this - Nicholas Sedgewick Thompson 🎬🎬🎬🎬🎬😍🤯🥰💥😘🌈🗽♾☮️💟🤖🚀🤪🔥🧪🗽🥂
Leaving a comment here to be a part of that 1%! You guys are awesome.
Yess they are 😍😍😍... Really informative videos ✨✨✨✨✨
I would pay to have you teach the math needed to really understand physics with your unique style.
He actually wrote an entire physics textbook where he goes into the math in lots of detail. I don't have the link, but hopefully he'll see this comment and post it.
@@Lucky10279 Sweet!!
Links are in the video description 👍
@@NickLucid buying it first thing in the morning. :)
Wow😍😍😍!!! Glad to here that you both are running The Science Asylum together 🙌🙌🙌 (I am the 5th person to like the video by the way 😂)
Thanks!

You two have given us crazies so much good stuff. This comment is here only for your enjoyment. Thank you. 🙏
Delighted to see you both so happy! :D
The Science Asylum (and PBS Space Time) are hands down my favorite RUclips channels. Thanks for all the hard work!
Bro, the fact that she's smart and not being on "auto-pilot", worth more than anything!! Pure light!
Thanks Em!!

Thank you both for the videos; they are funny and interesting and I look forward to many many more.
That's my comment quota for this century.

The 1% are the people I get to actually connect with. As a supporter though, you're in the _0.1%._ You're the people I really get to know.
I’m so glad you guys are doing well with the science asylum!

Interesting perspective on the math. I've never thought of it that way.
I think you both are great at interviews. Would love to see you do more long form interviews.
I think I might have commented on at least one of your videos. I'm not the best at higher math but I get physics and science in general conceptually rather well. Your videos have helped clarify holes in my understanding. Thank You.

Created an “extended” version with the math clips. “Science Asylum: After Dark”
dealin’ with figures
Cool video! :)
Time flies. Seems not that long ago when you started patreon in hopes of doing this full time.
I hate flies.

Sorry I would love to comment more.. sometimes my "tism" won't let me.. you might understand a bit
I'll try to give more likes
It wasn't meant as a complaint. I barely ever comment on the videos that I watch. It's just a statement of reality.
I feel a bit bad that those old jewels of your early "amateurism" are lost for society.
