- I had super orange and yellow hair I wanted to get rid of the color I thought that I needed to bleach it again but was scared that it would get super damaged so I looked online for things I should do and I found this. (I also didnt wanted to shampoo my hair with purple shampoo because i have heard that its very dying for your hair and my hair was already damaged enough.)
It turned great for me.
I wanted to share my thoughts and experience with you guys.
Hope this helps you as well.
Keep in mind that I am not a professional hairstylist and that there is a chance that your hair doesnt have to not turn out the way it turned out for me!

Wow, good to know. A bottle of Wella t18 or t14 is just as inexpensive, but a lot of people don’t have access to these, so this method is a great alternative.
plus the toner tends to dry out hair especially when you need to use it pretty frequently.both work but the conditioner you really can't over use :)
T 18 don’t do crap or orange hair!

I wouldn’t recommend wella anyway. There are plenty of other toners which work better, more conditioning and are even more inexpensive
I did this with permanent color from issue box dye and it work so good! I just put a little too much and left ot for 12 min and now I have toned hair with a little bit of silvery lilac goimg on but it looks awesome so I dont mind!
Did you put both purple and blue in it? My hair looks so orangey rn
@@ceren1695 yes both. But I think you should put a little more blue than purple. Just really watch the timing
nice, my hairs blue so im do this opposite and gonna try a live orange toner mix, if i can avoid as much damage to my hair without bleaching then its worth a try i guess :)

no! use a purple shampoo or a purple toner

Try blue color only + conditioner...No developer is added here.

don't use developer cream for toning, you'll get too blue/violet
No it will deposit into your hair

Hi there do you mix a small amount of the actual dye colour. Did you first apply the blue then rinsed it the blue and purple mixed together? Please explain as i would like to try it thanks

I did the balayage on my hair but because I did it on my own the roots are not looking even/pretty.. if I try this on the roots and leave it longer than the bottom and try to blend the two do you think it may fix it?

I think your hair was a very nice colour even before ;) The word "brassy" is so derogatory; just because hair has a warm colour, it shouldn't be called "brassy"... Some people suit warm hair, some cooler, not everyone's the same. But I recently did an ombre too and got bright orangey ends, I don't really mind them but I have an unused Colorista #bluehair in a cupboard, so might just give this a try ;) It's much lighter blue than this one, so I guess I won't need to add much conditioner.

Brassy is used to literally describe the colour, it's not negative, nor positive. Brass is an alloy with a very specific look, that's why the word is used 🤷🏼♀️

Thank you! So I just dyed my hair red again and once the color fades ugly I plan on doing a color rinse then dying it blue so I was looking up ideas as to how to get rid of the orange once it fades, might try this, also have seen that T050 helps due to the blue tone. So still debating.
My color is still white did not change even with the blue

Hi I am about to try this method with blue dye to correct my brass tones. So should this be fine on washed and shampooed hair ? Does hair have to be dried or towel dried before starting ?

I tried this and although it nicely corrected some parts of my orangey hair, it got me stuck with some blue strands 😩

Thank you for this! I was stressing on my epic fail ash blonde hair. It turned out golden and i was getting depressed. I live in the province so toners are out of reach. I could order one online but it'll arrive in a week and im desperate! Been in youtube looking dor a solution. Thankfully i stumbled on ur dyi toner. Ima buy purple shade tom. @@wfhmomph I tried today and it worked for me hehe. I used the "Garnier Aqua Marine" - the only blue hair dye that I could find and it worked excellent

So I just bleached my hair and found the part that I had blue dye on from earlier turned whitish and the part that was black is having brassy tones. Then I realized maybe if I mix blue dye w conditioner it might help tone the brassy part but I wasn't sure about it. But now that I saw your video I'm confident about doing it. Thank you so much.

I'm trying this right now with arctic fox blue and purple..lol on yellow and orange hair..
Did you mixed all of them? I kinda confused here. Should i mix the blue and purple toner together? Or apply it one by one after washing it
@@randomwanderer3715 mix the blue and purple. It worked! More purple for more yellow and more blue color for orange tones mix with condition, I applied it to my wet head for 30 minutes.
@@jeanine0125 i just finished it. It looks weird because i apply it one by one color. I thought if i mixed the dye the color would change into something like brown. So i apply blue first then mixed with purple. But it didn't come out well. Like some part worked and some don't. So i fully dyed it to blue :(

@@randomwanderer3715 I'm sorry that really sucks, the first day I did it I didn't leave it on longer than 10 minutes and fear I was going to have blue tones that second day I did it I did 30 minutes and it works so much better
@@jeanine0125 some of the hair turned kinda brown too so idk what to do. Did you mixed the dye directly then put conditioner or you mixed them after combined with conditioner? I'm sorry if i asking you too much questions but I'm really desperate here. :(

Yes! Only blue can cancel out orange. If you have dark brown orange hair specially. Light violet, purple shampoos, none of that will work.
Only blue dye will work. I recommend not diluting the dye with conditioner though! It may not bind as permanently to the hair.

It's a awesome video she done a amazing job if you can't keep up with the parts where there words pause it and read them that's what I done
It’s great you linked the OG video, but it’s not great that you didn’t list ANYTHING of what you did. You didn’t list exact hair dyes you used and instructions (remember, your video isn’t good quality, so it was especially needed). You didn’t tell anyone if developer is mixed in too or just the dye.
Without this info it’s all just useless sadly.
It was perfectly clear and she did list everything she did. You can clearly see the package of the dye, which is semi permanent, which obviously means there is no developer. If you don't understand these types of basics,you shouldn't be doing your own hair as this is the bare minimum.

Im not really sure but it says it lasts 12 to 15 washes it that helps.
