This is the main difference between Chinese approach and Indian approach. China used the older RD-93 engine but IAF needs best engine for it's AMCA. IAF is suffering because of its impractical and over ambition.
I mean it's not good to go for bad engines either. We struggle to find a middle ground. Obv we should focus on quality and efficient resource utilisation but we become too careful and obv then you factor in natural corruption.
One more thing. Tejas MK1 was complete why IAF went for more modifications I really dont understand. Then HAL took more time in those modifications and built MK1a. This time should have been used for more MK1s or for building MK2.

No and no.. its not a pipedream.. most of the technology has been in development.. EOTS, RAM, FCFS Radome are made.. DAS is still being worked on, Critical Design Review has been done.. just like Kf21, we will be getting AMCA in initial production within 4years (5 prototypes) of its first flight.. China took all these years bcoz they went the technology demonstrator way it seems.. way too many prototypes and enhancements done on a very shady initial designs.. India has already gone through that process of initial designs and taking the CDR route..

Some outdated and wrong information in the video. J-35A is using WS-13 engine now. Eventually it will use WS-21 engine. The model that was revealed was J-35A, meaning this is for PLAAF, nothing to do with export. Export version will have a different name. The naval version will be inducted later when the Type 003 becomes operational.

1. Immediately scrap the MRFA tebder and ask the IAF to jpin TEDBF and induct 114 ORCA in the place of TDDBF. This will give TEDBF the much required numbers. This will make it economically sensible to invest in TEDBF 2. Invest in Kaveri engine and get it ready for Tejas Mk1 and Mk1A platforms asap. 3. Select the winner for the 110KN engine and release funds for the same asap. This will solve the issues of the jet engine for the long run.

See, when it comes to 5th Gen Aircraft, we have two strategies- Early 5th Gen aircraft or 5th Gen tracking radar. While several channels are covering the aircraft but no one is talking about the other but which is the 5th Gen aircraft tracking technology. Because I think having a radar is good enough and we can wait till the aircraft’s arrive later
The decision makers in India will delay AMCA and MMRCA programme to the point where there won't be any other options apart from buying Russian or American 5th Gen fighters at great cost and also make huge brokerage cuts in the deal.
This is all the reason why IAF should go for two to three squadrons of Su-57 , stealth Su-35 and or more Super Sukhois to counter depleting squadron strength and acquire technological edge in the region. One variant of AMCA with Saturn Al31fp or Al41f1 engines should be opted.
All these kids in comment section should be well aware of Next generation radars for Project Kusha which are specifically designed to counter stealth targets . Astra mk 2&3 which will be suprior to any BVR missile of continent . Virupaksha radar and Polutherane based RAM for Su 30 mki which will emerge as the best Radar any flanker has ever got . Uttam on Tejas mk1A (a bvr beast with rcs of 0.5m^2). And Rafales with their meteor missiles are already enjoying air superiority in entire subcontinent. Apart from physiological effects these wont be that challenging for IAF as people anticipate . All systems disscussed will already be in service before Pak gets their 4 squadrons of J 35 .
AMCA is not going to be inducted within a short period of time. Production of Tejas 1A is facing delay. But production of Ghatak stealth drones is in our hands. They should go for mass production and induction in our forces. They will fill the gap till we have our own stealth aircraft.

I strongly believe India should go with Su57m in MRFA here are some reasons: 1. It is the most maneuverable aircraft ever built. 2. Having most Active sensors even more than F35. Only aircraft in the world with 360° radar coverage. It's N036 Beylka radar has no equivalence in terms of versatility and antennas, it has 4 X-band arrays and atleast 4 L-band arrays. Also Rotating IRST. (Note: These are integrated with newer Su57m variant) 3. It is designed to be a 'Stealth Killer' which perfectly fits with our near future requirement as both our enemies will have 5thGen aircraft before 2030 4. As u know we are paying them in Rupees. It will save our dollar reserves and they will be forced to invest them back in our economy and defence infrastructure which will further help in indigenisation of it's components. 5. Even with older AL41 engines Su57m is much better than Rafaels. It will give IAF new capabilities. In my opinion Rafael is more or less similar to Tejas Mk2 with very little capability boost even after spending freaking $30Bn. It is not advance enough to face future threats. 6. AMCA Mk2 is going to take more a decade. So many new technologies are needed to be developed for 5thgen aircraft and any one getting stuck can lead to stalling of whole program by years. 7. Licensed building of Su57 in India can give us the much needed experience for faster development of 5thgen AMCA. 8. Russia is in desperate position and India can use this opportunity for better price and more tech sharing. Even for new AL51F1 engines. Which have around 160kn of thrust and can be tunned down for our other domestic programs. Combined with the 80% tech trf of F414 US engine we will have best of both world. If we can use them correctly to our advantage it will make us the leading power in jet engine making. 9. Easier integration of indigenous weapons like Brahmos. 10. Battle tested aircraft as now Russian are actively using them in Ukraine. Even integrating Drones Su71 which other nations are just conceptualizing where Russian Su71 will enter production from next year. 11. As this aircraft is heavily focused on Active sensors and air superiority, we can focus our AMCA for passive sensor similar to F35s optimized for ground attacks against enemy air defence. IAF is at least 15years behind the Chinese air force and in next 5to 7years it will fall behind PAF not quantitativly but by 5th generation technology and in next 5years IAF not getting any MRFA aircraft or good nos of Tejas or AMCA or at least super Sukhoi make in India is not so good for at least IAF and after 10 years as you say I don't see any dramatic change in results it may happen that AMCA is ready but we will not have operational squadron one should at least increase no of new Sukhoi in super Sukhoi configuration to meet squadron strength. This is the main difference between Chinese approach and Indian approach. China used the older RD-93 engine but IAF needs best engine for it's AMCA. IAF is suffering because of its impractical and over ambition.

China took all these years bcoz they went the technology demonstrator way it seems.. way too many prototypes and enhancements done on a very shady initial designs.. India has already gone through that process of initial designs and taking the CDR route..

Iaf has already lost trust in su 57 and a lot of design elements are not stealth, despite a war going su 57 has not yet been deployed even tho Russia claimed to drop some long range missiles from it but only from the border and not going in Ukraine. We can purchase 2-3 squadron of SU57s from Russia as a stop gap measure, and have to work on AMCA in same way as we had worked on SSBN program. AMCA is not going to get rollout before 2026-27.

See, when it comes to 5th Gen Aircraft, we have two strategies- Early 5th Gen aircraft or 5th Gen tracking radar. While several channels are covering the aircraft but no one is talking about the other but which is the 5th Gen aircraft tracking technology. Because I think having a radar is good enough and we can wait till the aircraft’s arrive later
Does India have any capable radars?
The decision makers in India will delay AMCA and MMRCA programme to the point where there won't be any other options apart from buying Russian or American 5th Gen fighters at great cost and also make huge brokerage cuts in the deal.

This is all the reason why IAF should go for two to three squadrons of Su-57 , stealth Su-35 and or more Super Sukhois to counter depleting squadron strength and acquire technological edge in the region. One variant of AMCA with Saturn Al31fp or Al41f1 engines should be opted.
All these kids in comment section should be well aware of Next generation radars for Project Kusha which are specifically designed to counter stealth targets . Astra mk 2&3 which will be suprior to any BVR missile of continent . Virupaksha radar and Polutherane based RAM for Su 30 mki which will emerge as the best Radar any flanker has ever got . Uttam on Tejas mk1A (a bvr beast with rcs of 0.5m^2). And Rafales with their meteor missiles are already enjoying air superiority in entire subcontinent. Apart from physiological effects these wont be that challenging for IAF as people anticipate . All systems disscussed will already be in service before Pak gets their 4 squadrons of J 35 .

AMCA is not going to be inducted within a short period of time. Production of Tejas 1A is facing delay. But production of Ghatak stealth drones is in our hands. They should go for mass production and induction in our forces. They will fill the gap till we have our own stealth aircraft.

If the f35 is a fifth-generation fighter, then the j35 should be a 5.5-generation fighter. It is just because it is Chinese that it is often belittled.

I strongly believe India should go with Su57m in MRFA here are some reasons:
1. It is the most maneuverable aircraft ever built.
2. Having most Active sensors even more than F35. Only aircraft in the world with 360° radar coverage. It's N036 Beylka radar has no equivalence in terms of versatility and antennas, it has 4 X-band arrays and atleast 4 L-band arrays. Also Rotating IRST. (Note: These are integrated with newer Su57m variant)
3. It is designed to be a 'Stealth Killer' which perfectly fits with our near future requirement as both our enemies will have 5thGen aircraft before 2030
4. As u know we are paying them in Rupees. It will save our dollar reserves and they will be forced to invest them back in our economy and defence infrastructure which will further help in indigenisation of it's components.
5. Even with older AL41 engines Su57m is much better than Rafaels. It will give IAF new capabilities. In my opinion Rafael is more or less similar to Tejas Mk2 with very little capability boost even after spending freaking $30Bn. It is not advance enough to face future threats.
6. AMCA Mk2 is going to take more a decade. So many new technologies are needed to be developed for 5thgen aircraft and any one getting stuck can lead to stalling of whole program by years.
7. Licensed building of Su57 in India can give us the much needed experience for faster development of 5thgen AMCA.
8. Russia is in desperate position and India can use this opportunity for better price and more tech sharing. Even for new AL51F1 engines. Which have around 160kn of thrust and can be tunned down for our other domestic programs. Combined with the 80% tech trf of F414 US engine we will have best of both world. If we can use them correctly to our advantage it will make us the leading power in jet engine making.
9. Easier integration of indigenous weapons like Brahmos.
10. Battle tested aircraft as now Russian are actively using them in Ukraine. Even integrating Drones Su71 which other nations are just conceptualizing where Russian Su71 will enter production from next year.
11. As this aircraft is heavily focused on Active sensors and air superiority, we can focus our AMCA for passive sensor similar to F35s optimized for ground attacks against enemy air defence.

IAF is at least 15years behind the Chinese air force and in next 5to 7years it will fall behind PAF not quantitativly but by 5th generation technology and in next 5years IAF not getting any MRFA aircraft or good nos of Tejas or AMCA or at least super Sukhoi make in India is not so good for at least IAF and after 10 years as you say I don't see any dramatic change in results it may happen that AMCA is ready but we will not have operational squadron one should at least increase no of new Sukhoi in super Sukhoi configuration to meet squadron strength. Or is there any viable option you see which will give results in next 5 years ?
