    Tooth and jaw pain are super evil. It affects your whole head and creates tension down the neck. Glad you are feeling better!!!

    When I was younger I sled face first into a tree. Fractured my skull and chipped some teeth. When I was about 18-19 I went through a week or two of excruciating pain, which was essentially my nerve dying. I know what you mean when you say the pain is awful, I resorted to sucking on ice cubes. I really should have gone to the dentist right away. Ended up needing a root canal but putting it off about 5 months because I just hated the idea of invasive surgery on teeth that i've cared for meticulously all my life (never had a cavity). Ended up getting it, and now all is well, except for my discolored front tooth. Hope all is well with you now too :)!

    Glad your tooth is feeling better! Years ago, I went to a new dentist and after never having any cavities, the guy said my teeth were in bad shape and would need like 3 or 4 fillings next time I came in. He was not friendly either so I looked for a new dentist. The next one I found was much better and said I didn't even need fillings. So far I have had good luck with this one. One positive I got out of it was the motivation to take better care of my teeth.
    Keep up the good work on the vlogs. PS I like the southern accent you did in the car :)

    I’m going through this right now. I’m about to schedule a root canal once we have $600 more saved up. Thank you for vlogging your experience. It’s made me feel much better knowing I’m not alone. I can’t run or anything because it flares up my tooth abscess and it’s KILLING me. Btw, new subscriber! Yay! And Hi! You’re gorgeous!

    I feel for you Meghan. I suffered 7 years of root canals, extractions surgeries, broken jaw bone, and finally had the last of my 9 teeth removed surgically while conscious. So that was a nightmare after. I had to go back as I was bleeding so much and was in so much pain. They helped and the bleeding finally stopped 4 hours later! I went through a week of hell with stitches all over the top of my mouth LOL I am recovering and it will take 2 months to heal. So I totally feel your pain. I would not wish dental pain on anyone. Even 1 tooth can be debilitating.

    I just went to a new dentist and she did fillings on two of my teeth and its been two weeks and im in sooo much pain, im going through the SAME thing! i never had these problems before... im worried i need a root canal now. so sad... i dont like the dentist anymore either.

      @@sravyav7348 I ended up seeing an Endodontist. Specializing in root canal. They offered to do it but the dentist that did the fillings reached out to me and said “you had very deep fillings” this is reversible pulpitis. I stopped eating on the side that was sensitive and in about 6-8 months it officially healed. Fillings ever since have never been the same. She most likely was just very aggressive with the teeth... it took about 6-8 months for pain to go away but I never went back to that dentist. Call that dentist back and say you are in extreme discomfort after their procedure. I would ask friends who their dentist is and go see them. Find a dentist that you know someone personally that can vouch for. Have them check out your teeth and just give it time. For your next cleaning just see someone else and explain what happened and how traumatic this is. Now when I get fillings I have to ask for laughing gas because I’m so afraid it will happen again. Just floss and brush a lot so you can prevent fillings... don’t get a crown unless completely necessary! These dentist like to make money so they will push procedures. Do your research and get second opinions! Best of luck. I’m so sorry this is happening to you

      @@TalliaB omg after many weeks of anxiety, your comment gave me hope like nothing else. Thank you very much!! Like i've been beating myself up for why did i let myself to see that dentist and why should she mess up my teeth like that. I'm so happy that it healed for you regardless of how long it takes. Do you suggest I go see an endodontist or a dentist after 3 weeks if it still hurts, or should I wait it out like 6 months like you. I'm so proud of you for avoiding that root canal. I will wait as long as it takes. So, for your teeth, after like 8 months can you now eat crunchy or hard stuff where you got the fillings? Did you see it gradually improve with time? I'm just scared what if I have something that hurts forever. Seriously, I lost my trust in dentists, some really are tricky. thank you for replying

    • @TalliaB
      @TalliaB 3 года назад +1

      @@sravyav7348 ask the dentist for the X-rays they took before your fillings, and sign a release and send them to an endodontist (root canal specialist) who will look at it and take new X-rays to see the latest fillings. They will do a hot and cold test on your teeth and then give you options based on your reaction to those tests and what they see. They can examine how deep the fillings are and if there are any cracked teeth or fractures from the filling! Just don’t say yes yet if they offer a root canal without letting that initial dentist know that she is the reason you would need a root canal. I would keep calling and making records of your pain and keep records of you calling them about your discomfort. They have to do something to help. What has your dentist said?

    • @TalliaB
      @TalliaB 3 года назад +1

      @@sravyav7348 the pain gradually went away over time but it took TIME, I remember every time I flossed it would shock me because it hurt on that tooth. Just don’t eat super hot or super cold things for a while...don’t eat too many crunchy things, over time slowly the pain will hopefully subside. Google “reversible pulpitis” I think this may be your case too. But you deff should go see a dentist that you know a friend can recommend and trust

    I didn't know bone edema was even a thing. Thankfully, I've only ever had one tiny cavity and since my teeth have always been sensitive, I didn't even notice. Tooth pain is the worst.

  • @sravyav7348
    @sravyav7348 3 года назад

    Hi Megan, I recently got a filling done, and it's been 3 weeks and it still hurts when I bite hard or crunchy stuff. I contacted the dentist and she said that my tooth might be sensitive due to post-operative procedure. She said wait for a couple of weeks, but before that she suggested to go see an endodontist. I'm very scared if they''ll suggest a root canal, it was just a small cavity I'm afraid the dentist didn't do the filling properly, a dentist friend of mine looked at the xray and said it was close to the pulp but the dentist who did it said it was not close. I'm panicking and I have anxiety to even go see one, because one root canal is expensive and two i'm afraid they'll mess it up again. It's a unique situation. I asked my friends and family but not everybody who get's their fillings done hurt after at all. How do you feel after 2 years getting a rootcanal do you think its worth it and safe and we can go back to eating nuts or crunchy stuff?

    You should of taken Aspirin/Tylenol before you went to bed after you had your root canal, since i've had my first root canal like around 3- 4 years ago and like you i too have continuous pain, however i took some tylenol or my pain did last 72 hours like yours since it only lasted like about till midnight it only felt like tenderness afterwards.

    @Megan Absten - I used to have tooth pain, it happened after I had the same thing done. I doubt what I did was good for my tooth though. I would just stare into my mirror making direct eye contact with myself as I furiously scrubbed the heck out of my tooth with a firm bristle tooth brush. I just fought pain with pain, but it hurt less afterwards... so...??? At least my teeth were always dentist grade clean ;P

    Did you have difficulty getting your driver's license after losing your arm (or did you already have your license)? My brother had a stroke when he was 15 and made a full recovery but it made getting his driver's license really difficult.

    Same exact thing happen to me, a dentist did a filling on my tooth, he screwed up my tooth and the filling had to be redone, then the second filling failed then he did a crown prep he over drilled my tooth and killed my tooth, luckily a year later I found a great dentist that did a root canal and saved my tooth! Really makes me mad that some shitty dentists get away with ruining people’s teeth!!! Luckily we got ours fixed! It was my first root canal and it wasn’t bad at all! Lesson learned I will be extremely cautious when it comes to my teeth, only go to a dentist used by someone you know that has a good review, and learn as much as you can about dental work! Back molar teeth that need larger fillings should get silver or gold filling because they will last a long time! The idiot dentist that ruined my tooth used white filling for a large cavity! Anyhow glad you feel better and glad my root canal is done and over with!
