  • It just wasn't our race this year, it takes a massive amount of time and energy to go race this amazing event. Hope you enjoy the 90 miles that we were able to go this time. Back to the drawing board and prepping for next year!

    Thanks for recording and sharing that. Brought back some old memories. I rode that section to mile 120 on a XR650R back in 2005. I remember all the rocks heading to the summit. Not fun on a bike. The next rider choked out the motor in the deep silt on the other side. He hiked out to the highway, which is where we found him. 12 hrs later we finally found the bike in the middle of the night buried in the silt. Sat Phone didn't work, no GPS link to the bike.

    You looked pretty f-in over it when we went by on race day. At least it happened before the summit and not on the summit!

    Solid pace notes and that camera mount was doing work! Very much appreciate and enjoyed the professional coverage.
    Still surprises me how some of the roadside fans get to where they are, just showing up in some of least expected places. Bet that makes it interesting!
    Add: Big bummer about the phantom voltage drop, though that has the hallmarks of a job that will be solved by days and days of prodding with a continuity checker by vibration-induced grounding. Naturally _everything_ is shaken to death on these trucks, but there's the minute solace of having a few high wear areas to check first. Inevitably as it usually goes, it's buried deep in the meat of some unreachable place that has jarred loose of a body tie.

    You should teach driving lessons, you are driving 50-60 mph in places that truck looks like it just fits on some gnarly terrain and make it look easy to boot . You must have some grease on the doors . You sure scared the hell out of 131 mph mark . That was awsome ! It sure had the makings of a solid run .

    What do the number the spotter is saying mean?

    • @FluffyTheGryphon
      @FluffyTheGryphon Год назад +3

      Like "Left 3 over crest" and stuff? Pacing. Represents the severity of the upcoming turn. The lower the number, the tighter the turn, so the driver knows how much to slow down and what gear they should be at or near.
