Jax and I hit first puddle 120+ second one about 90. Thats the benefit to prerun in a TT. Day before the race we tried it at speed and crossed our finger haha. Once we seen it was easy then race day we hit it even faster. Cool to see the teams that race my notes also hit it at speed.
I was amazed that L.R. tip toed thru while Saroupes & the McMillan's flew thru. In days of old the farmers would flood the roads in protest of Sal until the graders came. Corley used to put chasers around these mud fields to tow his team's out if needed. RIP Corkey
I love the TTs and class buggy's go at it but man the classic Baja (10 class I think they're called? IDK) at the end go though it no problem was neat. Love to see a full ep of just the classic series vehicles.
The noobs think slow and around the edges is safe, but it just costs time, throws more mud and water into the vehicles while causing more erosion to the road.
I saw these guys in La Paz a few years back. They were doing a demo start on the Malecon. It was all the cars from the different classes. They started with the big boys, like the ones on this video. And went all the way down to VW bugs. It was so awesome to see and hear!!. It's amazing how massive and fast these are. I've heard of the Baja 1000 ever since I was a kid and at 45 I finally got to see them up close. I've been to NASCAR and F1 back when they ran the V10's and these Baja trucks are some badass engineering. To take that punishment for that distance is pretty phenomenal. Thanks for the video!
I can partially understand the trepidation of some of the drivers, as some of the locals are known for planting "boobytraps". But at the same time, the old saying goes" when in doubt, throttle out"
Wide open was the way to go… i can’t imagine how much it affected everything hitting it slow.. covering switches gauges gps screens visors goggles in and out with a coat of mud … then trying to find everything on a tire change…. Mud sucks, I hate mud… 2-3 preps later still finding that crap !🤮
I think its stupid to go slow through this, you got these big trucks, with huge tires and so much suspension travel. You can glide over it at speed. Going slow loses so mich time and the water slows you down even more. Plus you make a big splash that covers the vehicle.
Just shows don't slow down. Trophy trucks that went flat out made it look like nothing to go through and they didn't get soaked in mud. Sic footage. Avagud1
era mucho mejor acelerar en este mud ,siempre frente a un obstáculo antes que frenar es mejor acelerar a fondo y relajarse . creo yo por experiencia que las probabilidades de accidente disminuyen drásticamente . 🛵🛵☁☁☁☁
So cool to see how different all the drivers react to obstacles. You can see who has experience and who doesn't.

This totally confirms „when in doubt - flat out!“
Like Jeremy Clarkson say's 'speeeed!'
Speed makes me lighter.😂

I think some of them wanted to make sure it all got inside
Jajaja 😂
@@WHEELSnSTRINGS you and the kids

This answers the question of who played in the mud as a kid. This one was fun!
Shows the DEFINATE difference between experienced GOOD drivers and the rest!!!!

Loved watching the class 11 buggy go through.
Another great Two Schools example. I'm of the Pin It or Bin It camp, where the mud can't touch me if it can't catch up. 👍
Looks to me like full throttle and not being a bitch about a little mud is the best strategy.
I was just gonna post that😄
hydroplane

@@bradarsenault6984 a lot of "legends" went slow here. usually, its the noobs that will just bomb thru something like this.
Truth is, it's who has up to date pre ran pace notes, and who didn't. But go ahead and call it balls if you want.
Thanks for the video. Full throttle is the key!
The faster you go through it the cleaner you stay!!
The high speed runners came out clean as a whistle on their front half, slowing down jsut covers ya.

Your coverage is unparalleled. You ever considered dash cam? Keep up the good work!
yeah, would've been cool to see this section from a dashcam...ad much as it could record seeing the splashing happening
Hammer down stay on top of the mud is definitely the line.
That class 11. Other than the trophy trucks, the class 11 are my favorite.
Is that really mud? that is the million dollar question lol.
I can partially understand the trepidation of some of the drivers, as some of the locals are known for planting "boobytraps". But at the same time, the old saying goes" when in doubt, throttle out"
That sweet class 11 at the end. Like the youngest sibling. Wait! I want to come with you. 😅
If you pay attention during physics class you’ll know it’s all about speeed
They sound great
Excelente video
Best way through the mud is wide open throttle
So.. In doubt, flat out!
0:27 that sounds when he hit the mud.
Perrones muy profesionales admirables mi punto de vista. Soy Manuel Osuna. Los Cabos bcs y mi querido valle de comondu soy el jaibo
Harley: what mud puddle? 😂
looks to me like hydroplaning over it is the best thing to do
6:05 was scary lmao
So class 2days equation is Straight + Speed = excellent line of sight, (commonly known as "clean cab")😂, SPEED SAFELY 🏁🙏
Clearly a right way and a wrong way.
Bogor, Jawa-Barat🇮🇩☝️
Best way is all out
I’m surprised how many people slowed down.
No brake no mud eating haha
So yeah... Don't slow down.
There’s a right speed and a wrong speed.
note to self when you see a puddle go flatout. that way you will not get mud on vehicle.
The mud ain’t sh*t. I’d be more worried about the boobytraps that the locals set

Jason Voss flat out... what mud?
🤔Jason Voss isn’t in this video but he probably would have held it wide open here.
@You TUBA you got the joke, we grew up on the same town Voss and myself.
The mud is literally no problem at all when you haul a$$ through it. It’s all the guys who slow down that it gives problems too.
Either you pass it at 20MPH or 200
Hydroplaning is quicker, noted
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
The only time you don't hit water at hydroplane speed is in a corner.
Bryce Menzies FTW!!!
Robby Gordon is right... fast is better
Faster, faster, faster until the thrill of speed overcomes the fear of death
Repent and believe in the gospel of Jesus the Son of God, the Savior of the world.
When in doubt, falt out I say
When slow and steady doesn’t help haha
Hit it wide open and skim across. 😜😜🏁🏁
The single vehicle that should have slowed down was the beetle at the end of the video.
The rest that slowed down need to up their game.
Don't lift! Definitely the way to go!
Concrete Motorsports.... what mud hole
Never slow down!
Seems like some of these guys don't trust the equipment they're running.. either that or it's a totally unknown section
Milla?? Mile?
Rest in peace ken

This man in front of the camera in the middle of the road......
КТО БЫСТРЫЙ - ТОТ ЧИСТЫЙ

That's not mud!! Just a puddle.
You mean 💩 water
Тихо ходы всю грязь собрали 😆
Umm that mud crossing is only about 30ft and 37 inc deep... seriously just send it
The drivers slowing down make me mad
the clear difference between racer and losers
Why would ever lift……
why in the hell would you slow down before hitting the mud????? if i'm a truck owner and my driver slowed down his ass would walk home from Baja.
คันที่ไม่เบรค. จะไปได้ดีกว่า. แปลเอาเองนะ
