    Very good info except the part about bleach. It is one of the most common mold myths that bleach is an effect way to kill it. Also, I'm glad to know that there are other people out there like me who went through the struggles of mold toxicity, have healed from it and are helping others to heal. 🙂

      Yeah we’re aware now that bleach is a bad choice - and would not recommend it. Makes it fester even more. Peroxide is the way to go!

      Same comment! It can actually cause spores and rooting structures to break a part and become more of a problem - rarely kills any mold and doesn't kill mycotoxins.

    I went to Portugal during winter and lived in several
    Airbnb, it was super humid. The house was by the sea, and inside the bathroom , even I turn on the extraction fans for many hours , inside the bathroom I can still see water on the wall. And the beds felt cold and wet when lay down on it, and the blanket feel heavy because of the water content inside

      From as much as we gathered, the older style houses used to not be weather sealed which then helped with the humidity - in a sense that the house was breathing and water was evaporating.
      Then when they moved to "newer" construction methods and basically hermetically sealed their houses, then the houses stopped breathing and moisture got stuck inside and they also didn't have any hydroisolation.
      Now they're combating this with dehumidifiers which really often end up spreading mold spores around since they're not properly maintained.

    I felt like we escaped a house fire when we left a black-mold house. Not just because we had to get rid of everything, but it was traumatizing. I wonder if it was an ancestral memory, that it felt like we experienced a fire after we left the mold house.

      I can definitely relate to that! It was a state of panic, confusion and just wanting to be in a clean space, while also feeling unwell. How did you find out you had mold?

      @@healthyholistichomes It’s nice to talk to people who will recognize it. When it’s prevalent in a region, then it’s quickly overlooked. We were in the house for 3+ years and even though every single wish I had ever made in my life was coming true, I still couldn’t shake what seemed to be deepening depression, and everyone I talked to tried to deny away with some reason or another. Um, a lot of things lead me to be in an unusual position looking at the ceiling, and I was crying out to the angels (I believed God had abandoned ship at this point), asking “!why, what was it, why can’t I feel better already?” (after doing SO MANY things to try to feel better for years)… and I saw a big water spot on the ceiling that I hadn’t really noticed, and I heard (swear to God, I was hearing MAnY things those days. Don’t lock me up yet!), I hear, “That. That is what you’re dealing with.” But that’s all. The angels always kept it short and to the point.
      I looked around and realized there were many water spots, and I did know that in many places the roof was leaking, and remembered we’d had all kinds of weird experiences with new, unusual, and intense allergic reactions since moving in, plus the water heater that busted 3 days after we moved in, oh, and the central ac unit was broken (that was it’s own separate he.ll, but combined for a bigger He.ll).
      So, in short 😆, praying to the angels in a moment of despair was how I found out. Then, trusting the guidance, I did some research, watched some RUclips, and understood that it indeed would make me crazy depressed. We moved out Sept 2018. It’s been a long recovery and I feel I’m needing to address the long term effects, now. Thank you, your content has been so helpful! 💝☮️

    Thanks for this content. Interestingly my wife and I are thinking of moving to Portugal and I've also looked at your website... I say this because my wife is Estonian. So similarities there. We've watched your videos and she (another link) is very much into functional medicine and has hyper sensitivity (skin) to a range of things... The advice is handy, it may be we try and see the places in Portugal with the least humidity (I suspect either the interior in Alentejo like Evora or one of the towns in the Algarve)...

      Algarve is a beautiful area, but it would have been too hot and dry for us in the summer. If I might suggest, it might be a good idea to go for a holiday and arrange some house viewings :) We didn't do that and just moved. When we arrived we were in a big shock with the rent prices and the state of most of the properties that were within our budget. But even though we had to nearly 3X the budget, we ended up renting moldy houses. I hope this helps and also that you'll have more luck with the houses than we did :)

    Eating mold is prob way less harmful than breathing it in. But you are correct, better safe than sorry , toss it

    It's not just Portugal, dear one. Italy, like say, Venice? Constantly under water. Also in the US, with a lot of forestry which prevents sun from drying the house after humidity and rain. You, huge problem - especially for those who are disabled, solo/single, and can't move, nor have the money to have a proper rendition, etc. Tough stuff! Add wifi to it which multiples it? Yikes. Thanks!

      That Wifi thing is mindblowing - we just recently found this out from a biochemist friend of ours how radio frequencies affect molds.

    You packed your car with the belongings from your house. I see your car jam packed from things that were previously in your house is as scary to me as anything on this planet

      You can actually ozone clean your belongings. Luckily, actually, we didn't even unpack a lot of stuff and the new furniture has not arrived yet, so we shipped everything to another house :)

    i have multiple symptoms and im sick, i did a urinary test for mycotoxins and it came back as ultra clean and negative on all species. maybe im not detoxifying? no visible mold in our apartment. unsure what to do now, bringing a mold dog is expensive and re-taking the urinary test is also expensive.

    • @healthyholistichomes
      @healthyholistichomes  10 месяцев назад +1

      I completely understand, tests can be expensive :( One way is to work with a professional (such as a functional/integrative medicine practitioner) who can point you the right direction and you might end up spending less money on tests. They might ask you to do a full blood panel test or heavy metal test. The symptoms of metal toxicity and mold toxicity can be very similar. This isn't a medical advice, however, and the best is really seek out a professional you're comfortable working with :) Your health is worth it!

    • @mkazmi
      @mkazmi 10 месяцев назад +3

      So im actually working with a naturopath right now and i also took a mycotoxin urine test that came back 100% negative. To my findings, it is not normal to have an ultra clean lab test. If i were you , id also take the VCS test. Its about $15 online and it has a 92% accuracy rate for CIRS/mold related issues. If you fail that test (and you're having many symptoms that occur with mold, its very very likely its a mold issue)
