Oh man, that is so cool. Looks like it is straight out of a black and white sci-fi movie.

@GlenB1963. lol. I hadn’t thought of that, but now that you said it, I agree. I can’t wait to get it running better.

&JBOutboards It actually surprised me when I heard it run for the first time. I can’t wait until I really have it dialed in.

@perrymason4208 💪 Hopefully after I remake the jet it’ll pure even better.

cool! I had the 5hp version of that motor. Funky looking for sure that's why it had it, until it blew a rod. Thanks for the video.

@pryan05p71 sorry to hear about the rod 😢. Before that happened, how did that engine’s power compare to a 5.5hp OMC?

@GearHeadJP I did find a donner motor and got it going. It's now half Viking and half seaking. As for power, it's comparable to a Johnson TN 5hp but a lot noisier. Great dependable little motor with a neutral shift.

@pryan05p71 ah, consistent with my assumption. Thanks for the info.

I garbage picked a 2 cyl Sea King many years ago. Went through it, cleaned it up, made gaskets, honed it out and actually found some rings for it. Cleaned out the tank real good, and it ran great for several years. What finally killed it was the rubber donut around the concentric driver inside the water pump wore out, and it would overheat.

@nassar57 I enjoy hearing success stories like that. Those water pump wobblers are available.
