Doing the axle swap JUST to a HP isn’t worth your time. If your going to get a spare one and get it geared up that’s a different story. The hp/lp ring gear is not the weak link of the d30 lol

Nice work, bro. I just did the same locker in my 30 last year for our trip to Moab. Love the locker in front since it's almost invisible in 2wd, and pulls the front up and over obstacles. I'm still rockin stock shafts but upgraded the axle joints to the stronger Spicer 760s. No problems whatsoever. Gotta get
a locker for the rear 8.25 next. Happy wheelin.

      @@dukainmanning7246
It's held up really well. I drive it about 3 times a week to work on the freeway and do 75 mph no problem. I get the ratcheting only on tight turns, but I can't even feel it in 2wd. Did awesome in Moab. I wanted to lock the front axle since it's easier to live with in 2wd every day. No issues at all. I like the front locker because it helps to pull the rig up and over obstacles while a rear locker would tend to push the rig into the obstacle.

I see you dont have lock out hubs either so my concern is the road driveability. I live a good hour from trails or more in some cases so 80% of my driving is on road.
