Genoa marina or Mollo Vecchio Marina and Porto Antico, is home to some beautiful superyachts and yachts. Earlier this year a 32 meter yacht crashed into the pier (twice) and we look at the damage left behind. We also look at the 68 meter SuperYacht Soaring, still for sale and still sitting here since her delivery.

Hello from Canada great videos thanks for sharing
More sailing yachts! You're doing so many more of them lately and I love it. Thank you, and please keep it up! ❤️
😁 I confess it's the sailing yachts 😍
Stepping up the edit game! NICE MONTAGE! Way to go eSysman! Keep up the good work over the winter months! Fun Content! Cheers from the States!!!!!
I enjoy your strolls around Mollo Vecchio very much. Another entertaining vlog to view first thing in the morning!!
I like how you comment on what you see, feel, hear, smell. Observations expressed by a good writer.
You’ve got some great photography skills. Thanks for the video.
I love the sailing yachts thanks for showing us some
Great life you carved out for yourself. Thank you for your insights.

That was great Daniel. Love that sailing yacht.

Soaring is a beautiful motoryacht. I think the red stripe above the waterline suits it.
Me too. It's odd how such a small thing can make such a big difference, isn't it?
Boy thank you for the sailing yacht I live on a tiny tiny sailboat 1972 Choley 35 foot deck i am currently remodeling going to end up with as much money probably one new hindsight is great hahaha I do really enjoy your videos keep it up oh yes please be safe
A tour of that sailing yacht would be something else! Just why did that yacht crash astern and then leap forward like that - to make the dents symmetrical? !!! Great video.
Perfectly balanced, as all things should be.
Fun video. Pretty area, Genoa. Windy, but not all that bad. Drive safely.
Thank you, Syman! Good to see you.
Great Video !!!! Thanks !
Fantastic location, so many gorgeous craft. Some very very lucky people about
Awesome video!!!! Great vlog!!
Do you have any information about why the vessel crashed? hitting the dock/tenders is one thing but it looks like a fairly long way forward to hit the pier on the other side.
The proper terminology is.... Whiskey Throttle. Definition: A totally freaked out individual who loses muscle control & freezes stiff while vehicle, motorcycle, or yacht is at full power.
@@nerblebun Gear box problems
You may be experiencing a problem with your transmission if your vehicle is exhibiting any of the following symptoms below:
Transmission won't engage or stay in gear. ...
Shifts are delayed or missing gears. ...
Transmission slipping or engine is revving high. ...
Transmission fluid is leaking. ...
@@jbar-a9910: My friend, I seriously doubt both throttle & forward gear malfunctioned at the same time on this yacht. Whoever was at the helm had the options of shifting to neutral (normal operation), actuating emergency stop buttons located within arms reach which immediately shuts down both engines, shifting into reverse, or dropping anchor to arrest forward movement.
No... this guy froze, plain & simple.
@@nerblebun the stewardess onboard at the time finished her season on the yacht I Captain, evidently I know the Captain who was onboard at the time. He’s been a Captain for 20+ years. After the collision the main engine and gearbox technicians were onboard and the cause of the crash found to be a male function with the throttle controls which are electronic. Don’t throw around accusations if you don’t know the facts.
@@kahalani
Thank you for having first hand information on why crash/speed happened. I was on a Large conversation WW-2 sub chaser. The Captain was having trouble with the big old CAT engine stalling at low power shifts. He thought it just needed Fuel filters changed. Anyway when we came back from are Dive trip from Vancouver island. (Doods narrows) a must for any diver when it's slack tide. The big old vessel stalled on come along side dock. It hit hard. The Captain was running down to engine room to get her started again. Sometimes there is no one in Engine Room. To take control of systems or start/stop. The NEWER electronic control system they put on these super yacht's, if something goes wrong it's big time issues. Some people we know who had a 60 footer. And the CAT engines they Hated them. They idled too high. They sold the vessel because it was so temperamental on docking.
Very educational and I like that you give measurements for context as its true that the camera doesn't provide a good scale despite all the other yachts moored along side. Thanks for a great video. At USD$105,000.00 I'd buy two! LOL!
That was a good 👍 video
Cool yachts.
Not surprised about Zefira being an award winner, I think that she's stunning.
Would really like more sailing yachts in your videos please.
Thank you for all your great video. I was wondering if the cable stays for the sails block the signal from sat- Lights.
Wow. The wind is blowing really bad here deep in the heart of Texas.
I remember that crash. Was he high?
Love the videos, E!
Great video.. really enjoyed it.. thanks
Love the sailing yachts.
here's one for your Q&A's. Is there ever theft or pilfering on board? How is it dealt with? Enjoy the channel very much, a big thanks for taking the time on our behalf.
Well, there's this thing called a plank... 🎃
Good to see a sailing yacht being reviewed. Can we see more of the sailing yachts going forward
Excellent as always
I love the dock walk vids!!!!!!!
When the vessel goes dormant for winter, do all crew leave and go home, or some minimum crew for maintenance?
Top man
Sailing Yachts! Yes please, the older the better.
Great video of you get bored could always give us a tour of the town 😃
That unused charter yacht is beautiful. It must be Covid that has it in port for so long.
I was going to comment that I *too* would buy it for $105,000 USD but then I remembered that upkeep cost in fact does *not* scale with actual price. I'd have to try and sell it for it's 'true' value and invest the money then try to buy something half the size much later
You mentioned "the apartment". Where is your boat at the moment?
You had me worried. I thought Soaring had an accident! My dream yacht. The interiors are beautiful. At a €95 mil a bargain!
105,000 euros? I'll go halfsies with you. You could keep it in the Med during the summer and I'll take it to the Caribbean in the winter.
A performance oriented sailing yacht will be rather beamy to maximize righting moment and for racing yachts, to get on a plane.
the beam on that sailing yacht is the same as my LOA 😂
Malta (Valletta) has the largest super yacht registry in the world, so there are bound to be quiet a few Malta flagged super yachts.
They also have one of the nicest looking flags
Enjoyed it. Especially the story of the wayward yacht. The ship captain must have been a bit tipsy to say the least.
Did you find out the cause of the boating accident you mentioned? Thank you :)
Complimenti per il tuo canale video stupendi un saluto da Milano 🇮🇹
Grazie mille!
Looking at Zefira it reminds me as a kid going onboard the racing yacht Drum who was owned buy who was to become my boss Sir Arnold Clark but it must have been much smaller.
Have you seen The new silent 60 yet and if so could you do a video on that and also on the new silent 100
...yes, for sure eSysman ... thumbs up indeed 👍... what a beautiful locale' ... very very amazing reveal with Genoa? ... ... Italia bella, vivace ... Genova è una chicca .. thanks for the comparison with the sailing Yacht ... with my sudden enchantment 6 months ago with the motor SuperYachts, I quite left off the amazing romance of 'being under sail' ... two from Malta? ... yes, & with 'Elisabet'? ... that is the nickname of Queen Elizabeth II ... well, I do say , that with her constitution she would be right able to man her own ship LOL ... 👑
Great vid, though I find it hard to believe in this Techie World that a yacht could go HAYWIRE and just start crashing into everything?!?!?!? My Seadoo and pleasure craft have Deadman switches, why not a 50 Million Yacht or a Billion dollar cruise ship, they all seem to crash into shit and a computer takes the blame?!? WTF!
What's with all these large sloop rigs like Zefira, isn't it less manageable than a ketch or yawl?
It would be interesting to learn why that boat collided with the two docks and, was the operator arrested or cited into court? Thx!!
A small 36m yacht :-)! Perhaps they had left over grey paint in Valetta :-)!
@3:00 Siren / Bale... does that mean it is registered in Switzerland?
Do the bigger yachts have a skeleton crew living on board during the winter?
Quick questions, How do sailing yachts dock with no engines? Do they sail backward or use tugboats? Do crews if super yachts boast about working high profile yachts like Motor Yacht A or Octopus to other or new crew mates? Just curious, Keep up the great work.
They all have engines, and usually have sufficient fuel to do hundreds of, if not over a thousand, miles. They will drop their sails a few miles from the marina to give them time to stow everything and get the fenders out, then motor the last few miles.
Thanks
How is it possible that your hair stays so nice on a windy day? i go outside in the wind for 30 seconds and my hair looks like i stuck my finger in a electrical socket!
Does a crew have to stay on board if the boat is winterized?
somebody almost have to be close to move the ship/boat
100 mill is significant money. A bit awkward to sell a 2020 boat already.
Is Genoa low cost berthing for large boats? seems fairly concentrated compared to the rest of their marina.
Was exactly on that Marina not 2 weeks ago ⚓
Why, when not in the U.K., are you basing yourself in Genoa? (Nothing against Genoa mind you; happily took _il Canguru_ [sp.? Kangaroo] from there home to Barcelona) when I was a boy. Regards.
No mention to why it crashed, that’s what we’re all here for.
Are you using an external mic? If so, get a bigger wind screen for the mic. If not, maybe consider a Bluetooth external mic.
Heck, at even $205k, I'd buy it! LOL
How’s port workers strike going?
Annoying, they were blocking the roads yesterday!
With the roll on the antenna's. What are your views with Starlink? Lot's more Sats for these antenna's to 'lock' onto, more bandwidth and is looking a LOT cheaper than the current systems. I guess that these legacy sea bearing comms companies will be doing 'Bulk' deals with Space X... :)
He has done a video on starlink a couple of months ago, check his past video's.
cool
Do you still work on these boats?
Oh my
Audio is ok on my end.
You mentioned that accident where the yacht seemed driven by demons. That was a software problem? I would think there might be a MANUAL shut off for computer control or at least a way to shut down the engines manually.
What is the name of the song?
Did you ever find out why that yacht hit twice? Bad piloting or faulty electronics? It reminds me of a teenager when he gets behind the wheel and he's drunk with grandiose.
One can only assume that the boat "(sorry but I can't call a 30 mt. non sail, a yacht) that crashed into both structures consecutively, was Not in the hands of A QUALIFIED Captain at the time, but maybe an inexperienced member of the owner's family..?
Was that that driver drunk?!! Did he face charges?!! Bizarre!!!
The places that got damaged by that yacht running in to them is probably tied up with insurance companies and litigation as to why they haven’t been fixed yet!
What is a super yacht
Even if getting it for €105,000 you’ll still have an estimated €10 million per year expenses to own and operate it, if using the 10% rule. Amazing…
1:55 _"...but what the fuck is he doing?"_
Yacht roll isn't a problem for starlink.
Well they don't yet offer maritime satellite internet so you're right.
@@YachtReport lol I guess so. However I contacted starlink and they told me in an email that later in 2022 they were going to offer there service for multi zone use and to be used while in motion for vehicles while traveling.
@@secondstartotheright I made a video about this recently.
@@YachtReport - And you did and excellent job of explaining Starlink in that video. 😊👍
Reason for the crash?
Drunk, other substance use
Capt let girlfriend/boyfriend have a go and panicked
Owners significant other found out he/she found out they were cheating and decided to damage the yacht.
Systems failure
Pissed due to the docking fees
Etc.............
Aliens 👽
I would love a video on the best value internet and sat tv for a yacht cruising the Med and the Caribbean. How do you get fair value without spending your whole wallet?
Spanish subtitles, please 😪
Ok. Subtítulos es español listos. Comparte con tus amigos. Gracias por vernos. 👍🏼
Gracias! Saludos 😃
maitenense and crew and fuel cost on thise must be astronomicol
foare shure wood bee craezee
Maybe Tristan's boss will spend a few more pounds.
Oh that’s just sickening. I don’t care rich, not rich it was a beautiful piece of machinery. A sh*t load of work went into it. Seems like it would have a I’m fucked up button shutting most every thing down.Except steering and small amount of power and some electric. Crazy being able to go on screwing the pooch.
A Scientist owns it i think
Alwayz pay your skipper what you owe otherwise this happens.
Wife caught him cheating and decided to mess with his boat
I’d buy one also for 105,!!!
I buy the yacht for 104 K but only if you are going to be the captain.
Oh my! It looks like the
Zefira yacht should be able to afford a new flag. The existing one is in tatters!
👎😎👎
Only a fool would pay $700,000/week to moor any kind of boat.
*And the reason for the accident was...?*
Under imvestifation
Isn't it funny, all that money, all that technology, and at the end of the day it all comes down to a rope ha ha ha ha
Seamanship at its bloody worst...
Well it was most likely a malfunction of controls. I will update once the final report comes out.
Don't be offended, but lose the seabirds on the intro. They take away from the overall effect I think. ⛰🌋
