    I've been listening and playing Chopin for over 70 years and this young man is a delight to hear and watch. Get over the jealousy and pretentiousness and if you think you can do better...why then prove it. He has fresshness and emotion...so did Chopin

    This guy has something that Lang Lang or any other pianist can't do well. Which is he puts his heart in every single music he have played. Nice job and well done...

    Frederic Chopin, the great Polish composer, one of the brightest representatives of romanticism in music, one of the creative individuals throughout the world culture. Music contemplation and creation, bright, clean, beautiful music for centuries !!!) Magnificent, lovely music Chopin's performed by a unique musician, genius pianist Maksim Mrvica. Excellent execution. The extraordinary tenderness and sadness covers listening to this composition, it is impossible to listen to without crying. Very delicate, beautiful and emotional game, fingers on the keys are similar to the flight of birds. Thank you for a magical performance of this masterpiece.

    I personally love his outfit. Why should it matter what he wears? He plays it beautifully and from the heart. When I play the piano, whether I'm wearing sweats or a dress doesn't matter, what matters is what my heart is showing through my playing.

    My mother is a concert Pianist, and Maksim may be eye candy but one cannot deny his amazing gifted ability and talent as a true pianist and musician in his craft. It's evident by the way he plays the piano with so much feeling and expression with every stroke of the keys. I agree, the piano is out not well tuned.

    What's amazing to me is how these artists commit these complex pieces to memory; so much so that someone sight reading it and listening to the rendition would find virtually no difference.

    • @oqueestou
      @oqueestou 7 лет назад

      The hands do most of it through muscular memory. This happens when the pianist practices so much and so the brain knows where the hands have to go.

  • @ursaltydog
    @ursaltydog 12 лет назад +2

    I have now just discovered this very talented pianist and enjoy listening to what is his sincere and most apparent emotion in playing these pieces back to back, and from what I can see, no sheets. What surprises me is the high number/percentage of dislikes. If you didn't like the first video you heard/saw of him playing, you are certainly not going to like any successive ones either. So, move on and stop the pettiness and attempts to break the balls of the person posting the music.

    I second your opinion. When I first saw&heard this piece being played by Maksim, my eyes just began to fill with tears, and I remember being so shocked at my own reaction. I was thining about his history, and the hellish journey he has taken to deliver us with this performance was just too much to bear. I had never been so glad that Maksim, and his sound, survived.

    My mother first discovered Maksim via random internet link, and she told me about him and brought up the RUclips video for me to watch, and I LOVE this guy! I was practically rasied on Classical music (although sadly, I've forgotten how to identify most of it... :/ ) and now at age 17 I am getting back into it.
    I rank Maksim way up there with awesome dudes like Greg Patillo, VSQ, and that one guy that does videogame theme music on the violin! xP

    You know anything that draws attention to classical music is a good thing. I'm glad he's stirring up some controversy. That just means more people might listen to him. Like him, hate him. Criticize what he wears. Doesn't matter to me. He absolutely loves what he does and I applaud him for it. Personally I like how he plays.

    This is a fine and sensitive performance. As much as I like Rubinstein's more literal approach, I don't think this is at all florid or overdone (one of Rubinstein's criticisms of some players of Chopin). This is a really satisfying performance of this nocturne, and now one of my favorite videos! Five and fave!

    I definitely love his touch in this piece that makes the whole piece clear and echoing in my ears, and he's so into this piece that at some particular point I thought he was really whispering to it. And my heart nearly missed a beat at 5:30 or so because of that tempo.
    This is still not my favourite interpretation though, and nothing to do with how he's dressed since I really fancy that outfit =P
    It's just he's somehow making this piece warm and peaceful, and I'm used to connect this piece with some melancholy emotion. But this is just different opinions probably, and in general I like his interpretation a lot.
