Me, too! I felt like ASC makes it sound digital and artificial - it covers up that V-8 rumble that we love! I just need to get an exhaust like yours so I can enjoy the sound even more.
I’m a few days away from 2 years of ownership and have had the ASC on the entire time. I’ve tried to run the car with it turned off, but that’s not the sound I’ve imprinted onto. My 500 sounds too weird without it. 😜 Thanks for posting!
@Hyper_Boost Yup, it does come out from the front big-grill speakers and air vents, but it's piped in/inducted and not played/pumped/amplified. There are some videos online about it. There is a pipe that links the engine bay with the cabin.
I had a Fiesta ST and it had a hose piped into the cabin. It sounded 'unnatural' and aftermarket parts had something to 'cap' it off. Allowed me to hear my Borla exhaust more as well as the turbo. Feel like this was Lexus's answer to their quieter exhaust.
Hey, is the apexi exhaust the catback you have? Also did you get a CEL when you installed it? One last question😂 I live in CA ikik, but does the exhaust get quiet when in eco or does it stay the same where I would have to spend an extra $1500 to get a valves exhaust
Hi great car and tasteful mods! I am a new subscriber and I am considering IS500 in the future. I know in some of the videos you mentioned you have done family trips and you daily drive this. Could you please make a video on how your kids enjoy the back seat and how usable is the trunk space. I know IS is on a smaller side but it would be nice to see your perspective from an owner who has a family. My family is growing and I am considering an IS500 for daily drive. My daily driver is a 2022 3.0 Supra and looking for a sports sedan. An M340i would be an obvious choice haha but IS500 looks better in my opinion and the V8 is amazing. My only gripe is the the transmission, wish it had the ZF 8 speed or 10 speed from the LC. Wish I can keep both Supra and IS500 side by side though.
Hey bro! Thank you for commenting and subscribing! I appreciate it! I think we are on the same wave length or you read my mind. Because that is the video that I'm working on next! ("Great kinds think alike). Yes, I can't stay out of this car! I have a Toyota Tundra as my actual family hauler. But, the IS does fine for what my family needs on a daily basis. Will be posting the video next Thursday or Friday. (I'd love a Supra as well).
Oh...and yes. The 10 speed from the LC would've been the transmission to have for this car. It's kind of a pain to keep high-revving this car to get the best shifts out of it.
Thank you, brother! No, Edwin is here in Ocala. He will travel for food though 😋. Makes sure to follow him on instagram.com/the_fitment_factory?igsh=MXJ1Znk2Y3hrdWtuZQ==
@@E99584 It's not. It's mechanically amplified through a secondary "intake tube". It's not electronically amplified/digitized like BMW and Audi. It's 100% authentic engine noise.
@yousefal-assaf2985 not sure where you are getting your info, but it's wrong. This is literally from the owners manual "The ASC system is an electronic sound system that generates driving sound, conveying the kinetic situations of the vehicle’s acceleration and deceleration to the driver through the speakers behind the instrument panel"
ooof the lag on the shifts when u click and when it happens is really something else. maybe a test in the in the future, when the trans is fully warmed up, u cud show us the shifting capabilities when hooning on it
It's a common issue on the 500s. There's already a couple of RUclipsrs that are complaining about how slow the transmission is. In the low rev ranges, it feels like the trans is broken😂. Although, I have to admit that it's incredible when you are in the high revs and how quick it shifts when you got it pegged.
He wasn't really on the throttle hard - it helps to be at high throttle input and high RPMs like he said. I also have one. Yeah, there's delay. But I don't mind it. It's not as bad as, like, a 2nd-gen IS 350 or something like that. That had loads of delay, lol.
@@geefim2144 Yup. I didn't have time to warm up the transmission as I was late for work. So I drove it while making a video hoping that it would give me some sort of feedback.
Hyper_Boost, thanks for making the video I requested... I just subscribed! Thanks Again!
No bro! Thank YOU! I'm actually learning more a time about my car because of you guys! So, I appreciate it! Thank you for the support!
❤ I personally think that it ENHANCES the visceral driving experience with the ASC OFF!

@ARentz07 YES sir! Definitely 100% agree! Never really thought it was that much of a difference until I turned it off. Love it much more now!
Sounds good Pete
Thank you, bro! It's a "discovery" from my standpoint. I like it without the ASC.

The beauty of these cars is what we, as owners, find beautiful. Thank you for you support, bro!
im complete opposite , bought mine in jan 2022 and my ASC has been off the entire time. I feel like the sound is too artificial.
@wil3159
It might feel artificial but the sound is authentically coming from the engine bay without any amplifications.
@yousefal-assaf2985 really? I didn't know that. Why does it feel like it's coming out of the speakers?

Trans: Manual
Drive Mode: Sport+

All your questions are addressed in the vlogs I made previously. Literally, the 3 videos prior to this one you saw.

Oh, I noticed your mirrors were folded up in the garage. Have you made the electronic folding mirror conversion?
No Doc. I just folded it up due to the proximity to my wife's GX in the garage.
Your content make me want to trade my 23" IS350 f-sport to the IS500 😊
Both pretty bad ass cars bro. The 350 is light and nimble too!

True . Might as well get the actual sound rather then generated through the ACS
It's not generated. It's pumped in. It's thw actual engine sound inducted into the cabin without any amplification
@yousefal-assaf2985 it's agumented/amplified intake noise through a dedicated speaker

Don't know if my hearing is off or what but I can't tell that much difference with ASC on or off. Maybe it's because I still have the stock exhaust?
Most likely, Doc. The aftermarket exhaust actually brings out more sound
With an aftermarket exhaust/intake I can't hear any difference at all lol. The exhaust/intake drowns out any sound in the cabin.
@@DannyQanaah Does the intake sound good?
@@Hyper_Boost I have the rr racing one and I'm happy with it! Let's you hear the engine much more plus looks pretty good in the engine bay
