Such a phenomenal track. Fuck I love this song. I've always said I can die happy when I hear this live! Thanks for checking this one out y'all 🤘🏻
Thank you man! This was phenomenal! I’m still trying to wrap my head around that beat by Danny let alone the entire song🤯And thanks again for the support!
Seen it live, was not disappointed 🤘
@@dmusiclife5727 love your reactions and insight, happy to support. Eulogy has long been my favorite track, it keeps getting better- like all the rest LOL
Kia ora hello from aotearoa New Zealand hay I've seen these guys three times here in Aotearoa New Zealand the first time after the gig a few thousand people left in near silence we had just had our mind's BLOWN AWAY STUNNED WHAT THE FUCK HAD WE JUST WITNESSED and HEARD AMAZING AND THE LAST TIME I SAW THEM THEY HAD THE MALVIN'S OPENING FOR THEM WICKED BAND
You nailed it. This is why Tool is Tool; the polyrhythm is everything.
This song. This album. This band. It doesn't get much better folks.
Spot on!
I’d have to disagree…seeing them live is unlike anything I’ve ever seen! 😂
Maynard's "Goodbye" scream is about half as long as his scream is in "The Grudge" five years later.
30 seconds 😂
Fun fact: That percussive clicking sound at the start of the track is caused by Adam picking the strings between the bridge and tailpiece of his Les Paul.
Holy hell it is! I have a Les Paul and just tried it. F*cking rad!!! I’ve been playing this song for 20 years and didn’t know that… Figured it was just more Danny magic. Thanks for that!
@@JesseJames7-8-9 Glad to help. I don't even recall how I figured it out all those years ago. Whether is was scrutinizing live footage or some helpful internet stranger.
He could have picked up anything. It just happened to find his ear lol
Damn in my old HS days we thought it was a metal bowl against a glass ashtray
I got chills! One of my favourite Tool tracks, so good.
She gets it
Still the best band on the planet 🌏 Love this song.. Like nothing else..
In 1997 Eulogy was my first Tool experience. For 25 years later to witness that awesome moment happening again to you guys is why I love this channel.
the way Maynard SCREAMS "goodbye" leaves me speechless every time
It's going to be great ! "Goodbyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyye" :)
I had heard Tool in passing earlier, but just never took the time they require to appreciate them. The first time I heard this song, I was a fan. Love this song, for itself, and for making me sit down and pay attention. The dividends have been paying off ever since. Spiral out, mf’s!
"You claimed all this time that you would die for me. Why then are you so surprised to hear you own eulogy?" Maybe the best line from a Tool song.
One of the best. "Get off your fucking cross, we need the fucking space to nail the next fool martyr" is a close second, in my opinion.
I have found some kind of temporary sanity in this shit blood and cum in my hands" goes pretty fuckin hard too
First chorus is an insane key change. Second chorus no key change. HOW???
For me, Maynard's vocals often sound like a second guitar melody. Like he wrote a vocal tune in notes first, and then put lyrics to it.
Yessir! But also, it has RHYTHM TOO! In Invincible, he sings in 3 against danny who's playing in 7, making an amazing poly-rhythm
My wife hates Tool because of Maynard's voice. I contemplated divorcing her just because of that.
@@trumphatesyou yeah, that's "irreconcilable differences" for sure 😂
They opened with this when I saw them at Lollapalooza 97. I think about it every time I hear it to this day.
I remember playing this for the first time and instantly hitting replay about 6x. Never got old. I continue to blast this in my car, windows down while crusing Coast Highway in Oceanside CA. Love seeing people throwing up horns at me.
Fell in love with these guys reactions 2 years ago when they did Fear Inocculum. Always wondered if they did older stuff. The facial expressions tell all there is to a reaction, cant hide those. Thank you both again
They have a bunch. Check the channel. Definitely my fav TOOL reactors.
@@LanceThompsonKssooner i definitely will, basically I was just listening to Fear Inocculum reactions, came across theirs and saved them, so when I saw this one today I was like Awesome!
Agree!!
My favorite TOOL song...
Same
😂 "Don't you step out of line!" lol. So psyched for this reaction. Can't wait ✌🏼🌀👁🧘🏻♂🙌🏼
Don't you lie !
@@anthonypallen7919 😂👏🏼👏🏼✌🏼
Just the best track of all time, no biggie
Toolarmy 🔨🎸🔥🔥
Happy Easter !!! Plant a Flower, easy on the Chocolate Bunnies and Peeps 😀 (The sound effect at the beginning is done with a Megaphone) Got to see it once Live out of 4 TOOL shows, with what Maynard said this past week about playing old songs, don't know if he'll ever play it again 😞Is what it is
He had a lot to say
He had a lot of nothing to say
We'll miss him
We'll miss him!
🤘🏼😆😅😂🤣
You guys are an awesome couple. I enjoy the reaction videos especially tool but more than that I like to see a happy little metalhead couple jamming out
A track that gets little love, such a banger!!! 🤘🏻
Danny's drumming on this is just bonkers.
That was fire. I've been drumming for a while and I still struggle with that crazy beat towards the end. For me at least, learning to play Tool songs really opened me up and took my playing to another level. There's not many if any, Tool songs, where Danny doesn't do something intricate even though it may seem simple by itself. The way he places his beats and sets his polyrhythm's is just insane. Great video. Thanks guys
This intro is creeeepy af . Best band ever! 🐐 🐐 🐐🐐
I liked both your reactions and excitement. Tool must be aliens 👽. Unexplainable geniuses. Master musicians. Never less than epic 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
Aloha and Mahalos 🤙🏾
@@mannysotelo673 🤙🤙🤙
This song is one of the main reasons aenima is their best record.
My favorite song from Tool
A great track! Heard this one certainly more than a 1000 times before
Awesomeness 🔨🔨❤️
I used to use this song when I was testing out new speaker/subwoofer systems at home. The kick drum sound is phenomenal
Incredible song Tool is just on another level 💯🔥🚒💪
The beeping in the beginning is Maynard playing with a bull horn. You can really softly hear his voice in between his bottom presses.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe he's singing through a megaphone during the verses. And the 'doot doot's' are just him pressing the megaphone button. 🤘
Yep, I have seen it live twice
I agree, beautiful, but so hard
The first Tool song that got me, after that I was on board.
I so love this lead in❤ f the whole song lol
That Hiphop breakdown thing at 7:10 gets me everytime and also why this is in my top 3 tool songs it’s so damn nasty
Ive always said this is their best song.
Same here.
I think you cracked the Danny code… It’s all Morris code. Imagine if there was a 9th layer to TooL?
Morse, my bad
@@JesseJames7-8-9 I'm sure Morris probably had his own code too, my dude. :D
@@JadedFish 🤣
Morris was a cat and not an octopus though…
This dropped back in the day I was 16 maybe 17 awesome album. I loved it
One of my favorite songs of all time 🤘🤘
Elite ..Tool my boys
RIP LRH
It’s a journey, TOOL is.
First time I heard tool was I was 6 and omg it was heavy it was loud and I loved it
This is def one of my favs. The whole track is fantastic. And the breakdown when it’s just Danny and Maynard is icing on the cake. The drum beat is so simple, but the hi hat accents make it so much more effective.
This is my favorite Tool track…it cemented my love of this band. So awesomely crushing🤘
Same
Yo I’m loving the swag! Keep it up fam! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Possibly their best song.
I have always thought it is
There's more refinement with each album, but that Aenema sound tho....
This is exactly how I feel, and I'm not quite old enough to be ogt. Born in 90, and got into them in high school. The engineering on Aenema is just...solid.
@@warspyder7406 David Bottrill is a genius
In the mid to late 90s, I was a regular at a bar that would play all types of alternative music, and this was a constant hit. Hearing it through speakers that DJs use is shattering
When you see TOOL in concert, Maynard does the first vocals of this tune through a megaphone. If I could suggest anything, it would be to go see them live. It's THE MOST AMAZING experiences you'll ever have.
🤘😉🤘
A eulogy is a statement a symbol to those who have dared to be
I love you guys. bro, you're killing me! I look just like that when I hear this song for the 15,000th time
Tool rules.
tool is like a soundscape with vocals, they do not follow your standard verse , chores, verse, chores ,
Which is why they are the greatest 🌀
I fucking love you two. Your take on TOOL is spot on. Ride the ride and take what you will from it.
Greatest Band Evaaaaaaa
One of my all time favorites. I have seen them 8 times but never heard it live
Eulogy is definitely one of their most powerful songs, you should look up a live show video...
I mean, there are other bands out there, but they just live in Tool's world.
Spiral out, friends
Once again another great TOOL reaction from the most legit reactors out there. ...all the TOOL all the day. 🤘
You guys are so easy to like... It's uncanny.
peace and love, and rock on.
One of my personal favorites by them!
I was lucky enough to hear “Opiate” before “Undertow”” came out and I’ve been a fan ever since. They have consistently been one of the most intelligent, melodic, unique, and HEAVY bands out there. My favorite tool album changes every time I put a different one on.
Same. Been over 30 years and I love nothing better than sharing my love of Tool with everyone and nothing is better than watching people truly hear it for the first time.
Great reaction as always 🔥🔥🔥
Yes..I remember when this first came out..no phones no computer or online tracks..just go to the store and buy the cd...and Bam..
I bought the vinyl in 1996, still have it.
My fave tool song. Love it. 🤘
Same
Top 5 intros of any song ever. One of the dirtiest and jazziest grooves in Tool's catalogue. A patented Maynard long scream. And lyrics to pay attention too. Yeah, Eulogy is phenomenal
Banger !
Punchy AF👊👊👊!!! Great reaction guys🤘🤘🤘
Best reaction to my favorite song
Found something new huh? We found you when you were waiting and watching. You. Can’t. Let. it. Go. . and now here you are 🔥we’re gonna miss you u. No way to recall. What u said to me. If I cared at all. .
That's actually Maynards voice doing that thru a small megaphone. The eheh eheh.... Eheh eheh
3:00 welcome to the family
About comedian Bill Hicks (Friend of the band) who is well worth checking out on RUclips.
Nah it’s about L Ron Hubbard. The album is dedicated to Bill Hicks
Why would it be about bill hicks 🤦♂️ he’s talking about crucifying the person and telling them I’m glad your dead pretty much lol it’s L Ron Hubbard look up the lyrics, he’s making fun of him also for thinking that he was like Jesus Christ
@@frightenedsoul Fr
Yeah Danny is a badass drummer 🤘🏿🤘🏿
Mad As a Hatter by Larkin Poe live at The Convent Club will blow your head apart and piece it all back together. It's that damn good.

Najlepsze "Do widzenia" jakie w życiu usłyszałem
This is super fun to play. A lot of great riffs in one tune and all the little dynamics Adam throws in are fun to improvise and have fun with.
Next time on D MUSIC LIFE...
VICARIOUS
They did Vicarious already. They have a play list of Tool reactions
Most ppl think this is about L Ron Hubbard. It's not. I saw an interview with Maynard. He said it's about Andy Kaufman, the guy who played Twiggy on Taxi and Laverne & Shirley. He and Maynard were friends. The movie Man in the Moon with Jim Carrey is about Andy Kaufman's life, and really good. One of the funniest comedians ever. RiP Andy
Finally you do it! ♥️
The sound in the beginning is Adam Jones picking the strings on his guitar under the fret board at the bottom of most guitars. It sounds like clicking.
Bill Hicks, Kurt Cobain, Layne Staley were all friends who died in a senseless manner, which pissed off Tool. Adding the fact that Maynard's mom was a devout Christian who was deathly sick, and her church friends were rather nowhere near her in those darkest moments. And then there are those who claim their own self righteousness for attention. Eulogy was born from these issues and emotions.
loving the channel shirts
Thanks Dan!
Good one team. One of my favs and best. The dooting sound in the beginning is Maynard into a megaphone and then in the verses he sings into it. I have been fortunate to see it live twice in 97 for the Aenima tour. Even better live.
Two recommendations for you both, Tool 46&2 (same album as Eulogy - one of their coolest songs), also, Australian band Karnivool (start with anything off their Album 'Sound Awake').
The soundscapes in this is outstanding
Adam uses a metal pick and taps it on the bridge of his les paul and rakes it to get the triplet feel. Maynard is on a megaphone making the ba ba sound lol. Danny is doing the shakers and rest of percussion shit.
Damn! About time I became a Patreon … signing up now!!
No one rolls in like Tool and this is a great example
The sound you were asking about in the beginning is Maynard blowing on some kind of whistle or wind instrument
Always a great reaction!
Maynard said in an interview in the 90's that he didn't write the lyrics about any specific person.
I think it may be about himself.
It was a jab at l Ron Hubbard and Scientology. This dates back to the now infamous gig they played and they had a run in with Scientologist because they tried to recruit the band and threatened the band.
Hi my loves. Was just think of you two.
And I noticed that y'all haven't done Jimmy yet by Tool. And
I just cant waut to see that one. Well have an amazing fkday
