    Without seeing the hand, I'm guessing you have AKKJ with 2 or 4, with the king of clubs. 20:15

    Ya another vote for the straight 4card plo content. I would maybe be more interested the dbl board bomb pots and hi-low hands but it isn't offered at my casino or poker site.
    Cheers!

    When someone you have no history with 4-bets in 5 card PLO8 they're pretty much saying they have AA2xx with a suited ace. Only thing I will say is that I don't think they would check back the flop if they had an A-high flush draw.

    • @ploprofessor
      @ploprofessor  Год назад +1

      I think that’s a fair assessment and a good read. Gary does mix in some checks with some bets when he has draws…. But yeah in a 4 bet pot heads up I think you are spot on with assessing they would bet at least half pot!

    Hand 1. You and I have very different ideas for sure. I see this hand as big potential loser and not a big potential winner.
    If I do dodge the low and make my hand, it will be tough to get action from worse hands and I might wind up with a 2nd nut loser if I catch a Q or a club. If the river is a blank, calling vs folding AQ will also be treacherous. Since I only have a one way hand, I want far more nut potential.
    I would not bet this hand and flop unless on the button, and I am not sure that is correct. Once I bet and got FIVE!! callers, I would really not like this hand. Sure, someone has 234xy. Maybe 2 players have that kind of hand, but the other callers have AQ/QQ/77/AA and nut clubs. Maybe some dork has KJT without nut clubs. Unless you are playing with truly awful players, your high is on very thin ice. Now I know you said all of this, but then you fired $300 and got raised. This is a bad spot and you created it. It might be too tight to simply check and fold this hand from the beginning, but I would say that is a lot better than creating this situation.
    As for the turn call, I think it is not close. I expect you are doing very poorly vs. the players who went all in for roughly 300 since they will have AQ+ and nut clubs very often. Are they really so bad that they are drawing to WORSE flushes and pairs than you have even after the low hits? Against the remaining player who is likely on a low with some kind of redraw, your chances of winning high are going probably be much better, but that money is heads up and so you are not making a dime on calling that raise and so all you are really doing is protecting the equity in the main pot, but I don't think you have enough there to protect. I expect you wind up winning the high on the main pot well under half the time. This might be a whole lot closer in 4-card O8, but in 5 card O-8, I think you will just wind up losing the main pot too often to random freak hands where the dangler winds up making a straight or trips. The nut club draw is so much more likely to be in play as well.

      I don’t mind your assessment - but the person raising 900 obviously doesn’t have a high hand that can beat me just yet (yes he did have 245 but he didn’t have higher clubs) - the other two players were all in for the original 300 bet - so the only high hands for the side pot that I have to worry about is the free roll with 245.
      The other players - even if they had QQ,AA, 77 - after I bet 300 - their high is irrelevant.
      I would prefer to be on the button here. Betting 300 to start is very aggro, but it also could mean I could have A245 - in which case the guy who jammed 900 on top is getting quartered.
      I know when you look at the hand individually you may say way too loose (and you have a very solid argument for that)- but one thing that is hard to factor in especially for a vlogger - is when I’m there for 12 hours for a game - some of the action that is shown early can get me paid late so players are jamming and getting quartered there pretty often - just this time I happened to have pretty much a one way hand at the time……
      Big O is a crazy game where it’s hard for people to put me on hands because if it had A245 - even with one pair of aces and the low - I would still pound the turn - and then get paid!
      I appreciate the comment and Ty for watching!

      The highs for the all in players in the main are NOT irrelevant. You say in the video that you are calling 900 to win $712 from the main which is correct. But you gloss over the fact that your equity in the $712 main high pot is nowhere close to 100%. So you're calling 900 for the side, and you only have 77% high pot equity at best vs. 542. On average, you have 74%. Assuming the all in players have decent draws like a wrap, king high clubs, then you have about 25% equity in the main high pot. If either of them has a set your equity is even worse in the main. So (900*.74)+(712*.25)=$844 you can expect to get back from the $900 you put in the pot to make the call. Your ultimate assessment that you were about $50 short of the equity needed to call the all in was about right, but for all the wrong reasons.

      @@ploprofessorSee my reply below. If your assumption is right that you have 85% equity in the side high pot vs. 542, then this actually becomes a profitable call by about $40. Either way I really don't understand your assumption that your equity in the main high pot doesn't matter and the short stacks hands are irrelevant. Being able to win the main high sometimes is the only thing that helps you get closer to breakeven vs the freeroll in the main.
