    I'm getting a lot out of your vides, plus I've been running better lately. Last week I felted a guy in an 8 or better plo pot with 444- He had raised preflop, and bet flop- I knew he had aces and low cards, so I raised him on the turn, and he shoved. Board ran out to broadway (which made me nervous, as there was a third guy in the pot), no low. Preflop raiser showed his hand- AA 3 10. 3rd guy was gambling to hit low. I was stuck until that pot, which finally put me up for the night.

      Why would you want coaching from a guy w a VPIP of 80-90% lol. I only needed to watch the first hand to see this guy is pissing away profits. He got his miracle card on the river and got bet into...his quote "I grabbed a stack of black... So here would be the OBVIOUS question to ask this PLO Professor..."Why raise pot when you can ONLY be called by someone who either A. has the same hand or B. has no clue what they are doing (very unlikely in a 10/20 game). Why not make a smaller raise to induce a call and secure more profit with ZERO RISK. . I would have made a one-third pot bet and hope for a call or a raise. His way ...he is only winning what's in the current pot. My way I can make an additional $300 with ZERO risk. I want to maximize profits..not just win the hand.

      Remember the following text:
      "I learned early on from a very wise Big O player not to force opponents out when I have the best possible hand by making large bets on the river. Usually, I make 25-30% pot bets and get called down about 80% of the time. If you are the opponent, how much will you call to "see"? That's the question you need to ask. How much more money am I making in this situation every time than just betting the pot and either splitting the pot or not getting a call? Even if there are multiple players, I would only bet the pot if I am certain that the other players are competing for the low hand. I also had to teach myself that it's okay to make a smaller bet on the turn with the best possible high hand and potentially allow a low hand to get there, as the odds are in my favor that the opponent won't catch and I will make more money. I've already secured a profit and have virtually no risk. The likelihood of a low hand coming on the river varies depending on the number of players in the hand, but as we know, three or four-way action to the river is common, so the odds can be anywhere from 30% to 15% that a low hand will come on the river. I'll take those odds all day and make a smaller bet on the turn to encourage action. It usually results in more money for me."

    66 full hand pot was1020 and you bet 500 and got 3/4 = 1515. So you lost 5 bucks by not betting full pot to blow him off the hand, On another hand by betting only 500 you made it tempting for him to call you off with trips Ks or Aces up, I say that was 5 dollars well spent.

    sorry but i just have to say this but as a poker player myself can we normalize better tips for dealers? im tired of seeing "pro players" tipping a single $1 on a pot thats 1k+? come on but this is just a shame and it breaks my heart that you probably feel like its a honor to tip a dollar. just my opinion i know that it doesnt matter on the internet.

    • @ploprofessor
      @ploprofessor  Год назад +2

      I think this is a point that isn’t talked about enough.
      It’s an excellent point. It is actually something I go over with my students in their first session.
      So when I tip $1 per pot - I end up spending a little over $6,000 per year on dealer tips (not including any tournaments).
      When someone shows on their vlog that they are tipping 5 or 10 per pot - on pots that are normal (like 600-1k pots in 1-2-5 plo). When I see someone doing that it demonstrates that that particular individual may not be a professional poker player because if we are earning for example 100k per year (and that’s a big if after all expenses) - tipping $5 or $10 per pot would significantly decrease our income.
      Second. Dealers earn what they deserve. I used to be a dealer - and I would earn about 50 an hour dealing. So a buck a pot on a normal pot is reasonable - a few bucks if it’s a huge pot I can see…..
      But I’m glad you brought it up because yes as pros we do tip, Rec players will tip much greater than a pro because it doesn’t impact a Rec players income where it significantly impacts our income.
      I hope that helps answers that in the best way possible - but yeah, most pros will tip a buck a pot unless it’s a significant pot. You can usually “tell” or “spot” out a Rec if you see them tip the dealer five or ten bucks.
      Ty for the comment and Ty for watching!
