Was Kanye seeking white validation when he said blacks don’t matter to Bush? a lot of shit go over charlamagne’s head and I don’t think he really has the intellectual depth to know which way the wind is blowing. Regardless, they didn’t address anything Kanye said. Just insulting the guy isn’t really respectable or convincing to me. I’d like Charlemagne to explain how being pro life is equal to looking for white validation, especially when Ye’s underlying reason was about how abortion is responsible for half of black death. I guess Charlemagne is okay with that? Or it’s not a big enough topic for him to address? Kanye advocated for black people actually getting ownership of the infrastructure they’re exploited in, primarily entertainment. i guess that’s not a good message to put out either Charlamagne? To say it was all just for white validation is a cop out and a lazy examination of Kanye’s interview. It’s clear to me Kanye wants to move to a place beyond this race bullshit. Charlemagne wants to soil in it n stay at each other’s throats. Remember, nobody is right when everybody’s wrong. Moving on gives us a chance to dead the vitriol.
And for charlamagne to say the slogan and BLM organization r two different things seem disingenuous. He’s reaching for a couple reasons. First, It’d be like me saying Go Eagles in philly; not in reference to the football team but the animal. No one would think I was talking about the animal. To expect that level of nuance to land when the slogan and organization r the exact same is farfetched. It’s just a convenient excuse for Charlemagne to avoid any responsibility for pushing BLM propaganda and helping them fraudulently raise money that should have went to victims family’s. NO ONE was delineating a distinction between the two when the BLM organization came up with slogan or before all that money was raised. If I’m wrong show when & where this distinction was pointed out. I’ll be sure to check what Charlemagne was talking about prior.
Bottom line, anyone getting heated about a white or black lives matter shirt seems a little too invested in their race. There’s so much more to life than the color of your skin. Our race should NOT be the forefront of our identity. That’s stereotypical and lame. To say either phrase or to say one group can’t say either phrase undermines the chance that we start looking at each other like brothers and sisters. It should be axiomatic that everyone’s lives matter, the whole concept of pushing a slogan that only highlights one ethnic group is automatically going to be divisive. It borders on narcissism. Police brutality is a problem in all communities, to what extent may be MARGINAL. Look at the stats. By including race in the slogan u immediately create an out group that includes 85% of the population. It’s just a stupid tactic if u want to garner widespread support for the issue you’re concerned with. “End Police Brutality” would have been more effective AND it’s not the same exact name as a fraudulent organization.
Also, acting like police murders r some kinda referendum on race relations in this country is absurd. As if the whole white community is choosing which cops get hired and who they’re going to unlawfully shoot. There’s just simply not enough unarmed ppl dying at the hands of cops to be at each others throats like we are. There’s 350 million ppl in this country and we’re at each other throats over 50 deaths per year, all races included. It’s delusional. We need to stop attributing the actions of a incredibly small - literal handful - of bad cops to an entire race of people. Bad cops come in every color btw. I want to believe 99% of all people are reasonable & not looking to murder anyone.
