Fun fact!!!!! The ghost’s name has been confirmed to be Archibald Corduroy, making him Wendy’s ancestor! Also, the graveyard that contains all of the dead lumberjacks is where the Mystery Shack was built, which is why there were so many zombies in the area in Scary-oke :))))
Never has a show sold me on a ship in just one episode, but this one pulled it off really well. Dipcifica is hands-down my favorite Gravity Falls ship because it just feels so natural, and they have such good chemistry together. Even ignoring that, this is just a superb episode all around, with some of the darkest imagery in the show, its themes of classism, and a nice redemption arc for Pacifica that feels earned. While there are Gravity Falls episodes that are objectively better, this one's my personal favorite.
I don't think you guys fully grasp the nightmarish implications behind that bell First you take the context of how it's based on Pavlov's experiments where ringing a bell every time a group of dogs was fed would cause them to start salivating in response to the sound even when there was no food. Then you watch how Pacifica responds to that bell, the way she just falls apart and instantly goes from arguing and defending herself to being quiet and submissive. Then you start wondering how exactly did they conditioned her to respond like that. Then you remember she's a child It really just gets more messed up the more you think about it
It comes as a joke ("look how funny the rich family uses a bell to treat people") and ends in a character background about generation/historic trauma and overcoming that trauma for the sake of social equality. I don't want to think what Pacifica's parents did to her for fear a bell that much.
It’s really easy to make fun of Mabel and her friends for saying Marius is from Australia, but it’s important to note that there’s a desk in the Vienna airport to help people who thought they were going to Australia and not to Austria. It’s a legitimate problem.
28:17 just wanna mention, The Owl House wasn't created by the same person. Alex Hirsch created Gravity Falls and Dana Terrace created The Owl House. That said, Dana did work on storyboards for Gravity Falls, it was one of her earliest works. Both shows share a lot of the same crew too. Alex Hirsch is in the Owl House, but only as a voice actor
I don’t know if you noticed, but the way that dipper is positioned is the same way that the Shapeshifter told him he would meet his end when he was frozen
Fun dipcifica fact: In irl book number 3, dipper writes about how he felt a kind of a vibe between him and pacifica here and how she smelled nice, but marked it out. I believe i remember seeing that mabel also made a note beside it pretty much saying "i saw what you wrote dipper"
I love dipper a lot of times with characters like him (more nerdy/introverted) you’d expect him to not follow though when he sees pacifica but no he straight up was like “your the worst 😐” *SLAM*
Something that I personally think is *crazy* that it was never addressed is, why IS Pacifica so scared of her parents??? She seems to have what I can only describe as a *Pavlovian fear response* to that bell which is um. Worrying?
if you go back and watch closely from “into the bunker” all the way up until this episode the agents have been in the background watching them the whole time
one fun easter egg is that the pose dipper makes as he's turning to wood is the same pose the shapeshifter made when he turned into dipper while he was being frozen. I LOVE the attention to detail the animators and writers have!!
Dear Lord I'm excited for the next couple, peak incoming! Also this episode is so good too. I love how absolutely hard it goes into the horror of everything. Shocked Disney let them do this much. Also congrats on 10k!!!
Spoiler-free Fun fact: in a recently released piece of Gravity Falls media, there is a message to someone in regards to Pacifica: "Stay away from her, ______. She has the protection of the lumberfolks spirits."
Something that has always bothered me about this otherwise amazing episode is the whole opener is a scene to show how demanding her parents are when it comes to upholding their image over something as insignificant as the wrong shade of her dress. EXCEPT then the entire actual party Pacifica is wearing a purple dress, a wildly different color to the theme. Her mom's still in the "sea foam green" dress, but nobody brings the color issue up again lol
migth be a stretch but purple is considered a color of nobility. it might be considered acceptable by her family because it displays a class difference even if it doesnt fit the clearly nonexistent theme. its weird because gravity falls is usually so particular with its details.

Woah I love how everything's connected in the show!
I couldn’t agree more.
Holy guacamole! I never realized that. Damn I love interconnecting lore
Whoa
The moment where Dipper gets turned into wood is the exact same pose the shapeshifter took as Dipper when he gets frozen

Agreed on all counts.
too bad shes hardly in the show at all. shes an interesting character considering everyone else in gravity falls is low class/hogwild.
Sips the Dipcifica episode like a glass of fine wine.

YUP major emotional abuse.
Forgot this ep was so late in the show.

If it gets to the point where people already going to buy a ticket, it's their problem for not searching about it, not the airport's or country's.

And if im not mistaken she's his ex though I'm not sure when they started dating
And producer
Ok gotcha! That's good to know.
@@IzzyGoner101 that's right, they were dating. Don't remember when it started but I think they broke up some time after the release of TOH
@@JuliDDyeah the spilt up around the end of season 2
Uh oh, Dipper, a girl your own age????
The Bell is one of those things that gets more horrifying the longer you think about it....
I don’t know if you noticed, but the way that dipper is positioned is the same way that the Shapeshifter told him he would meet his end when he was frozen

also he did the same thing with wendy when he had a crush on her (drew her in the side view) sooo
EPIC episode!
13:47: "BOY" and "Your kind" is crazy.
I love dipper a lot of times with characters like him (more nerdy/introverted) you’d expect him to not follow though when he sees pacifica but no he straight up was like “your the worst 😐” *SLAM*
i mean hes been hanging around with stan and literally learned to stand up for what he believes in during the man-o-taur episode.
@@nullakjg767 all true I just like how blunt he is about it and how it diverts from the norm of his type of character

STAN IS NOT WHAT HE SEEMS
STAN IS NOT WHAT HE SEEMS
STAN IS NOT WHAT HE SEEMS
So many horrifying things in this episode, including that bell. What kind of childhood that suggests... damn.
18:30 "And this will be the last form you’ll ever take!"
y'all love dipcifica
if you go back and watch closely from “into the bunker” all the way up until this episode the agents have been in the background watching them the whole time
also I’ve seen a lot of people talk about how pacificas parents probably abused her to some extent cause conditioning your kid to a bell is crazy
14:36 I like that dippers like “ I would let you kill the rich people but my sisters in there so I can’t :/“
this episode was the peak of gravity falls when I saw it air for the first time.... at least I thought it was :))
one fun easter egg is that the pose dipper makes as he's turning to wood is the same pose the shapeshifter made when he turned into dipper while he was being frozen. I LOVE the attention to detail the animators and writers have!!
So excited I found your channel, you have such great energy
Your reactions bring me so much happiness and joy 😭😭
The show mostly ZOOMS after this point. Eager to see your ride!!
Not too much on my girl Encanto, at least that family had legitimate reasons to be concerned about their reputations 😭 the northwests just suck
I shipped both Dipper and Pacifica. Pacifica's parents are the worst. Dipper roasted Pacifica at 4:42
😡😡😡😍😍😍🤣🤣🤣
Dear Lord I'm excited for the next couple, peak incoming!
Also this episode is so good too. I love how absolutely hard it goes into the horror of everything. Shocked Disney let them do this much.
Also congrats on 10k!!!
the entire Northwest family Tree are horrible people, even Pacifica's parents are the worst 😡🤬
How many of us have been caught in the Sweet-Savory Loop before?
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT EPISODE. MY FAVOURITE EPISODE
JUST 2 EPISODES, YOU GUYS ARE ALMOST THERE
AHH! I was waiting for you guys to reach this episode!! Can’t wait for you guys to see the next one, this reaction was awesome
Idk if you guys realized but the pose Dipper takes when he is turned to wood is the same pose the Shapeshifter said Dipper would die in.
ohh this one is so goodddddd
One of my absolute favorite episodes of the show
AAAAA MY FAVE EPISODEEEEE
Spoiler-free Fun fact: in a recently released piece of Gravity Falls media, there is a message to someone in regards to Pacifica: "Stay away from her, ______. She has the protection of the lumberfolks spirits."
We are approaching the big episode!!!! Next epsiode will have you shook
Next Episode...the best episode is coming next
Am I crazy, or isn't the title supposed to be Northwest Mansion Mystery, not Noir?
Also, Dipcifica FTW.
Yeah, you're right. "Northwest Mansion Noir" has been used as an incorrect title in the past.
A PARTIR DAÍ É SÓ PEDRADA
Damn, sometimes it's baffling that people can't see through what moral of the story a children show is trying to tell until it is said word for word.

"The Northwest Mansion Mystery": Dipper tries to be a Ghostbuster. (What is the difference between "Seafoam-" and "Lakefoam Green"?)
