Kiwi voices the whole thing and she does a good job retelling this new version of the story with a lot of emotion and seriousness. I think the resolution of bismuth makes sense because it's a kid's show. In real life oppressors should be fought but what good is it gonna do to tell a seven year old that? And also, Steven is a CHILD, and his safety matters more than Bismuth's ideology. It's because she attacked Steven that the other gems didn't want to bring her back (though I'm glad she does eventually get brought back).

"My superpower is dimentia" is crazy Also at the end when his pen and clipboard got pulled through the portal, around the same time there was a Rick and Morty episode where a pen and clipboard fell through a random portal in the background of a scene! So the Rick and Morty connection is real. Also y'all GOTTA watch Over the Garden Wall, it's a masterpiece.

I always saw McGucket's memories as a PG way of depicting substance abuse. He indulges too much in an item that makes him 'forget' and it degrades his mind. But when he confronts his issue with the help of others he's able to begin the process of healing.

If yall looking for another short series between Over the Garden Wall and Owl House (or even during), may I suggest Sonic Prime? I managed to convince reactor "Ruff Senpai" of Sorta Stupid to check out since he enjoyedd the first two Sonic movies and is excited for the third, and he has been absolutely loving it and losing his mind over it. He actually keeps saying he hopes the videos do well so he can justify getting the rest of his team to do reactions to it. Its only 23 episodes long and a lotta fun.

The constant memory erasure actually explains why everyone else in Gravity Falls have mental issues. All the background characters, acting goofy or unrealistically silly makes more sense (like the deputies). That’s part of how Gideon was able to control the townsfolk’s hearts so easily before.

McGucket tanking those memory-eraser blasts always gives me Lapis vs Blue Diamond vibes. "You can't break what's already broken" / "I've felt worse". I guess it's like that Hemingway quote, "the world breaks everyone, and afterwards, many are strong at the broken places", except instead of generally being about resilience it's about weaponizing your mental health struggles against magical lasers.

I find it interesting that McGucket actually hesitated a bit before seeing his memories. Another appetizer episode revealing some big secrets but leaving us hungry again with just more questions T-T Also the doggo’s snores really add to the ambience lol so cute 💕 also Indi looking great once again~
