We didn't buy it. The leaf springs in the back were kind of a bummer. The sweet spot for the manual is the TRD OR though. However, that's about 5K more than this.
Toyota is going to cannibalize itself with these prices. I think many folks will hang on to their 3rd gens for a bit longer. Besides, never buy the 1st gen of a new technology.
@@legendarytrails I can't pull the trigger on this new Tacoma. My fully loaded 2019 TRD Sport 4x4 w/ manual was 39k! Other options on this truck also included blackout emblems, black exhaust tip, and factory installed Toyota tri-fold hard tonneau cover.
@@avsguy01 Comparing apples to apples, $39k in 2019 dollars is about $47.5k in 2024 dollars. A fully loaded 2024 4x4 trd sport is about $53k. Are all the new features worth the increase of $5.5k? I guess people will have to decide
I wish the manual was offered in a double cab 6’bed
That would be a nice option
Great video, does this model with the manual transmission come with A-Trac?
I believe it does since it's a 4x4.
Napoleon Dynamite, all grown up!
Hope you guys bought it. Doubt the prices will go down

Cool truck! Any luck floating gears?
No floating gears when we drove it. Seemed solid overall. Didn't try to shift down more than 1 gear, though.
After test drive needed a new clutch
🤣
It's nice until you see that it costs 40k
Yes! 100%. Its crazy that this SR cost more than the 22 TRD OR manual we borrowed awhile back - it was 38K. Totally not worth the price.
Did all the features of Toyota safety sense still work with the manual? I haven’t been in a manual since 2005 and I want one. I miss it.
They seem to be working. In traffic, it was using lane center assist and did everything we expected. Nice for driving on the highway and in traffic.

The third gens come with a lot more for the price. Honestly I think waiting a few years is a good idea.
Very Nice!!!
It's pretty nice
What was your seat jacket setup? Front and back? How many spacers? Ty!❤
You don't need seat jackets on the new ones thank goodness! The 3rd gen we had the desert does it in the front.
I picked up the TRD Sport 4x4 in 6 speed manual - 44k. It is so nice to drive!
The manual is pretty awesome!
That has the less powerful engine right? Not the core engine in the sr5 and higher trims
Yep. This is the base engine.
@@legendarytrails the 6MT is detuned slightly (7HP) from the 8AT, but not to the level the base engine.
If you get the manual you get 270 hp regardless of trim so plus point of a manual
All Manual trans get the higher spec engine. 270hp and 310 torque.
Forty thousand for a base model!
Yep! It's insane! 😮

Yeez, that is a high price for just a base model...
It is! It drives super nice, but so do a lot of vehicles for 40k
Really expensive. Car market is like that
It is expensive!
Technically it’s a SR6. Just sayin.
Like it but price is a joke.
It is a little pricy for what it is.
Cuál recomíendas 22 Tacoma manual or 24 taco manual ?
built in theft deterrent!
Yep 🤣
