I was a sickly child and spent lots of time at home where my mum would walk me roun d the dining table to Charlie’s music, and here l am at 81 still enjoying it.
I learned to pick out tunes on our piano after listening to Charlie on the wireless. Now 87 and I haven’t improved any. Good luck to all of you.
My grandfather used to listen to him when I was a child, now I am a grandmother!
I read Peter Cheney so the Meet mr Callaghan is much appreciated!
Thank you! The views of London during the time of my childhood -- sigh.
This is the best piano player.
Jesus, what a different world then...The music is a clear proof of it !
Being the early-mid 50s, R&R had not exploded on the scene yet, but even then this was more 'middle of the road' music.
London was truly a beautiful town, wasn’t it?! Special place and time. I think the ‘leaders’ of the English people should be ashamed… Oh well, thank you for the memories! So long!
A wonderful time with wonderful music!
1:32-2:42 Wow! St. Paul's Cathedral looks so peaceful and pretty with "When You're In Love" playing in the background. I could just cry and waltz at the same time. 😢😢😭😭😭💖💖💖💖💗💗💗💕💕
Wow, thank you so much for your thoughtful reply, Mr Smith! Those were largely peaceful, but busy days... a summer's day in old London town was lovely then...
Oh my wordsmith! These visuals ... words can't do this justice. Thank you.
Какое превосходное звучание! А какая изумительная эстетика... Браво!
Wonderful old footage of London .... oh how different life was back then ..... the people look more wholesome ...... beautiful music ... thanks for sharing my friend, Big Thumbs Up!! Lorraine:))
Many thanks ....best wishes Lorraine.
I could cry to see London now compared to then
Agreed - best wishes!
Thanks for nostalgic video. Keep 'em coming.
I will try, friend!
Charlie Kunz had a magical style of his own which was unique. He was a great artiste but he was lucky that in his day there were lots of great Songwriters with great songs for him to play. Wonderful melodies which we have allowed to drift into oblivion and replaced with primitive sounds masqueraded as music. Were it not for the wonder of RUclips and Uploaders we would have no music at all as the radio airwaves have been void of music for decades. Shameful.
Terrific selection Steve , back to sanity , great footage , who needs Dr Who when we have you and IM lol .liked and shared :) ms
Hunble thank you kind sir - as usual! Funny how all the roads and pavements look cleaner and better kept than now - despite ww2 not long ended!
wordsmith52 ha ha .. yes I think they had brooms back then instead of big machines that miss the corners also no take away foods :)... no food at all most days lol just a piece and jam :))

Hartelijk dank! Dit is zuivere nostalgia!!!
Veel dank aan u - "u maakte mijn dag" - de beste wensen!
Great I have a photo of him at the Tower Blackpool alongside the equally great Reginald Dixon
Gordon Exmouth
Евгениально!
I expect this was both sides of a Decca 78 in its original form - unmistakable Mr.K.
Great film Steve, London was like a large town back then by comparison.
I think so - he tended to do his medleys with three songs on each side of the 78 disc.- so these ones were probably from 1.5 discs. Can't get much info on the precise details (yet). My recordings are from a compilation LP issued in early 1956. Most, if not all of these tunes are from 1952, so if he did release them on singles, that would have been the year he did them. His increasingly deteriorating health after the war caused a slow down in activity, and he stopped broadcasting in the late 40s, but continued with records. Thanks for looking in Jo.
...there was a time when Charlie's records were everywhere. Wherever there were 78s to be had you could be sure to see some of his amongst them - I wish now I'd collected them...
***** yes - I agree!
Good video 😊
Thanks....good comment ....!

I love the lady at 4:59? She reminds me of two things:
1. Susan from The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
2. My Aunt Jenny!
Ha Ha! Yes, that's a nice thought. (the one in in the green dress).
Fantastisch
Erg bedankt!
Эстетика старой Англии. Без Маэстро Понасенкова я бы никогда не смог ее разглядеть.
Да здравствует Понасенков! Добрые пожелания вам!
