  • Becoming a millionaire on any game show takes a tremendous amount of both skill and good fortune, but that is perhaps most clear on one show in particular that's seen only three million dollar winners in 14 years. This is why winning $1,000,000 on Wheel of Fortune is almost impossible...

    Wheel went from nearly bland/unwatchable to nearly a fine-tuned machine last season. I May see a live taping in September but yes the Million Dollar prize is purposely hard to achieve. The short-lived Million-Dollar Wheel in Australia basically gave the idea to bring the top prize to the USA.
    The first winner that aired in October 08 was apparently taped on August 8, 2008. I think you know where I’m going with this.

    while I technically agree with you regarding the celebrities having it easier since they always have 4 1 million wedges out as of Round 2 and it's flipped to its back area so no bankrupts are showing, they still have to follow all of the other rules pertaining to it such as solving that round's puzzle, never hitting bankrupt the rest of the game and making it all the way to the Bonus Round and even then, there's still only 1 envelope that has it and you still have to solve the Bonus Round puzzle.

    Great video, Ben. I agree with you on the fact that the million is impossible to get, but not unwinnable. It IS POSSIBLE. Also, thanks for using my reconstruction of the Season 39 theme I made.

    I think that Sarah Manchester is to blame for the six contestants that came and landed on the Million in the Bonus Round after her to all lose. Sarah put a curse on the $1,000,000 top prize to make sure it would never be given away in the syndicated version ever again!

    I agree with the points you made in this. The whole part about avoiding Bankrupt hasn't always made sense to me. Even if they do avoid it, what are the odds that they will actually advance to the bonus round? Personally, I take a viewpoint once expressed by Cyndi Seidelman at Game Show Garbage. If I were producing the show, I'd just up the top bonus round prize to $250,000 and scrap the million dollar prize.
    But it's not totally impossible for it to happen. I'm eager to see the direction Bellamie Blackstone and Steve Schwartz take the show this season. If we do see a million-dollar winner this season, it'll be nothing short of miraculous.

      Yeah, the odds are so long…maybe if they take the MDW to the Bonus Round they up the number of million dollar envelopes from 1 to 4? Or they could do a million dollar mission like Deal or No Deal to slowly increase the chances as the season goes on…who knows

    • @milesmorris9333
      @milesmorris9333 Год назад +2

      @@bcschneider53 Upping that quantity actually sounds like a good idea. It's not like anyone in the audience, at home or in-studio, would know which envelope is where. Also, funny you mention the Million Dollar Mission, since Bellamie Blackstone worked on Deal or No Deal years back. Who knows indeed? With what you suggested, she just might tap on that experience from Deal or No Deal and utilize it on Wheel.

    Coming here from the WWTBAM video makes it feel less ridiculous, because here's it's just....a wheel with a random chance. There you have 25% odds plus whatever hunches and logic you can work through. Still absolutely ridiculous questions but I'm not watching Wheel of Fortune expecting to see a jackpot....or at all because I don't like it, but at least this reminds me of the television context surrounding "Nostradamus's treatise on Jams and Jellies" Millionaire

    Ben, i think the producers of WOF or Sony have decided that it's been way too long since they've given away the million on the syndicated version of the show so i think they should do a Million Dollar Mission like Deal or No Deal in which every time the million wasn't won they add another million dollar envelope to the Bonus Round Wheel until somebody or someone wins it all.

    What you know one thing for certain I like the idea of a million dollar witch. And with wheel of Fortune be coming you know the next game show to reach the 40-year plateau? You never know what could happen. But they're going to be some big changes coming to wheel of Fortune this coming season. Although I don't know what it is but you never know. The other game show I like was the price is right when they gave away 3 million to three different people. Actually they gave away one million dollars three times and this was on the night time version of The Price is right. But what makes it so excited they've never giving away a million dollars during the day. But that all could change. Because I can tell you this much right now if somebody were doing a million dollars on a daytime game show like the price is right? This would set the game show industry on its ear. Basically you're going to see a lot of expansion going on. Because I can tell you this much right now. I couldn't even win the lottery on the lot you know what I'm trying to say is I couldn't win the lottery anyway for a million dollars. But people most likely would do this on game shows anyway since deal or no deal basically led the charge. But before that it was who wants to be A millionaire that really started this whole thing off. And since then you had the Price is Right you have wheel of Fortune and basically a whole lot of others. And basically there was also one other game shows that was around back in the '80s it was called the 1 million chance of a lifetime. And that went off beautifully. And that's set the benchmark. So basically the very first game showed ever gave away $1 million dollars was the one million chance of a lifetime which was hosted by Jim Lange at that time. And that's what everything got started. That's right everything got started!

    While I agree with you that we ARE well overdue for a fourth millionaire, I REALLY would like to see a man do it!
    It would be nice for that to happen one day, but now that'll never happen anymore with Pat Sajak as host since he announced his retirement and Ryan Seacrest officially replaced him.
    Let's see how Seacrest does and hopefully we'll have a male $1,000,000 winner.
