  • We had legendary prop maker Evil Ted Smith on the show today to teach him something he'd never tried before... using a sewing machine! We've become great friends over the years and were happy to shoot a goofy but helpful beginner's sewing video for everyone.
Make sure to check out Evil Ted at eviltedsmith.com/ or at his RUclips channel ‪@EvilTedSmith‬ for tons of cosplay and prop making tutorials.

@@TockCustom Jumpcut to y'all unpicking a ******* sleeve seam because the ******* *** **** ***** grain line buckled and now it looks like you've got puffy ******* princess sleeves, all the while you're eyeing the needle and thread knowing that you would be done by now, and it would be perfect if you just ******* backstitched it by hand in the first place.

Great tutorial, I know it is not part of using a sewing machine but might have been nice to show how to rip out a seam that didn't go right, which will inevitably happen to sewists of all skill levels.

I was a seamstress making costumes long before Ted, but Ted's channel and mentorship with foam and fabrication has brought my costume game to a level that 12 year old me would think is the absolute coolest! I owe him. He says I don't but I've repeatedly said I do. I'm having the best time making exactly what I want to make.
