Putting a TNT block on a block and standing on those two does not count as standing on a block, it doesn't crack. And you can mine the TNT block with high end resources. You can stay out of reach for a very long time like that
a few things: tnt takes blocks which is fixed with you saying you can just mine the tnt, but when it has to explode you're in a pretty bad spot and your opponent could punish you trying to escape even if you use a minecart from all that iron you got. But what are you supposed to do when they start hitting you and the tnt with projectiles? You might have to stop mining and stuff so is it even worth it?
I noticed in the online battlefield training room stage if you hit the tnt switch with up tilt on a platform it won't hurt you but if you dont move and let it explode it'll hurt you Idk if that means anything
@@coldramen2638 you can stand on tnt an mine and when someone approaches just down smash then air dodge. The down smash should send the tnt upward a bit cause its a fire attack thus allowing a very small window to air dodge. Doing it right allows tnt to go boom with you being unscathed.
This character looks like melee all over again with just the sheer amount of unintentional tech he can do. Like, on FD you use your shovel to mine, right? Well, if you put TNT under you and mine that, you use your pickaxe instead, so if your shovel breaks, you get a second option. Who even thinks of stuff like that?! You can wavebounce your down-B's auto cancel animation with no materials for free fake-outs! This character, man. Limitless.
Something cool about steve is that if you have diamond and your sword breaks you can craft a new weaker sword while maintaining diamond for everything else. Therefore your non gold or diamond sword can work like a sour spot to lead into combos with diamond pickaxe
I did some labbing and I personally think some of his weakest matchups are going to be Isabelle/villager. On top of the potential offstage bullying they can do, pocket also grabs a BUNCH of Steve's moves. Some of them that I can remember are, Lava Minecart TNT Anvil Which are some of Steve's potential good moves for ledge trapping, or just straight up a whole powerful smash attack that they can use at any time (I am not sure if the power increases based on how long Steve had charged it for). This gives the AC duo a shield break option (anvil if positioned correctly), an extremely fast and strong 2nd d-smash (lava), ANOTHER ledge trap option (TNT), and a technically throwable grab/another projectile. Just my opinion though.
Minecart is insane. If you stay in it and hit shield, you can jump out and it will then continue forward with the grab hitbox. Super tough to deal with.
things I've found: 1. if you do a smash attack on a block the block breaking cancels the end lag (down smash is very good for this (crazy shield pressure)) 2. combo: jab, fair (spike) combo loops (can probably be DI'd away but can be ended with down smash (after spike) as a mixup), 35% ish start 3. combo: minecart, jump out, minecart hits again, fair (works better if started in the air), low %'s 4. placing blocks has low lag, ex: up-tilt, place block, up-tilt can combo (not very useful, but could be used for other stuff) 5. attacks activate pressure plates for down b: down smash, d-tilt, dair ...probably some more I'm forgetting...
I haven't seen anyone mention this (I haven't seen the other vid about neutral b), but if you keep holding b while standing on the block you created, you'll immediately replace the block when it breaks
Fun Fact: You don't have to hold shield to make the crafting table. All you have to do is hit Shield + B in an instant and it'll be right there and you aren't vulnerable for those 7 frames. You're welcome!
Great guide! Steve is such a fun and wacky character, I really wanna get good at him! Really gotta try some of those TNT tricks, hahaha. I wasn't aware the Powered up Side-B required Gold; I had always thought it required redstone! Good to know! 😄
Apparently Steve can also effectively Blank(Plank with Blocks) due to his Utilt and Upsmash. This character looks absurdly strong. His frame data is among the best in game, Diamonds are Arsense, and his combo game is really good. Low top tier is my prediction
Not sure if it's worth putting in to the next video but, there is a instant shield break done with neutral B and dair. Anvil has multiple versions on damage done. Putting it on the block activates both versions causing over 40% or shield break. Looking forward to seeing some Steve play from you bro!
I think Steve highlights an issue in smash the most. Look at Kirby the most advanced mechanic he has is his down b. Donkey Kong’s whole moveset is him flinging his body or arms in a direction. Meanwhile steve had all the stages redesigned for him. I say some of the simpler characters need an update in the next smash game. Cause the last couple characters when comparing characters like Mario to Terry is like comparing the wheel to the iPhone. I just say give them a fresh coat of paint and update the moves to reflect some of the new games. Cause Mario Pikachu Ness and Yoshi haven’t gotten a move update in so long. Not specifically those characters but you get the point.
If you flick the control stick down for half a second after the firework goes off you can get significtantly more vertical height. Try it in training room. If you do it normally you shouldn't be able to get higher then 10. If you flick the control stick down you can get up to 11.
After death if you lose diamond and since you get gold before diamond, couldn’t you respawn hurry and craft a gold weapon? Then block out with a ground block and then mine faster for materials?
Question, is it possible to place a block in the upper left or right corner of the grid in which blocks can be placed, then to double-jump before landing on it and using an anvil, then to mine the anvil from up there to get enough materials to repeat that indefinitely? And, if so, is there a character that can be made unable to ever reach Steve? It would need to be patched if so.
11:39 "a consequence that you do have to payHowever the move is still very good-" Said it so fast with contrasting energy that I thought it was an edit cut.
I'm not sure if it affects things since I've not done any testing myself, but the downsmash at ladge seems more complicated than specific hurtboxes. If you're far enough from ledge, the first hit will stay on the platform, and the "spreading" second hit stays level with the platform. However, if you're at the very edge, it looks like the initial hit falls for a moment, then the "spreading" hit is lower as well. It might be different for 2-framing since it's a difference between dropping lava right on them and hoping for it to spread to them, though I don't know the exact hitboxes and matchups.
"the steve guide is finally here" he is just out 2 days take your time it will probably be outdated and new stuff will be discovered like every few minutes
8:36 My goodness I can tell they are going to nerf that hitbox. His up smash is all about catching people in the air, not having it be nearly as long and big as all his other attacks. The kill power is godly inaccurate, too.
You can cancel your shield with placing a workbench and insta-fsmash, does someone know how many frames the benchplacing takes? Is it faster than the jump-placeblock- fsmash?
What I do when I have diamond late percent is do what I can without crafting anything until I die. I just keep racking up damage until I die even without tools, then I'll get diamond invincibility when I die
Did anyone else notice the easter egg? If you fall from a large enough height you can hear the fall damage sound effect from Minecraft
