I was on a plane in 1990. The passenger before me had left a Better Homes and Gardens in the pocket. There was an article and a photograph of sunflowers on the cover. They were claiming that this was the next up and coming, must have flower. Sunflowers were a trend that has lasted for 32 years. Now, there are dozens of varieties to choose, everything from white, solid brown, fuzzy petals without the center, teddy bears, all center without the petals. There are miniature ones only 3 inches in diameter and there are the giants measuring in more than a foot.
I do believe that this is one trend that is here to stay.
Great memory ya got there!

I was in the flower business for 43 years Somethings just stuck.
They are happy flowers and the are great for birds and squirrel! We like the artistic view and they get dinner. Win win.
Your next set of t-shirts should say "It has a bird on it".
Or cat! Lol
I do especially love the consistent phrase, “It has a bird on it” a humorous mantra almost and a fun T-shirt
The Blue Sky is the under plate of a 2 piece tea light house. Many of their items have a top and bottom piece. Thanks for sharing your knowledge. And congratulations on the new baby on the way! 🌸
The fabric covered box is a sewing box, my mother had one in green fabric and it had a plastic tray that sat under the lid that you lifted up to get to your sewing notions in the bottom of the box. I know she bought it in the 1970's.
Sewing basket
I know how exciting it is to find Fenton, jack in the pulpits and swung vases but I'm a weirdo....today,I found a set of 10 blue crab melamine plates for my outdoor tiki bar .......for $5!!!! I was like woohoo...I love finding cheap melamine and I cannot lie😂😂😂
That painting V.O. and Seltzer was cute the way they painted a gold frame right on the canvas.
LOVE IT… At a local thrift store, I found a WW2 soup ladle and sold it for $200… thats my kind of thrifting!
I think the floral case is either a sewing box, ice box. Or a home project purse out of a Breyers ice cream gallon
Yup.
I think it's a sewing box.
It's sewing box..I have several in this style.
70s sewing box
I absolutely detest what I'm about to say but I've got to because it's actually true. You are glowing!
@@SisterShirley She's second trimester so I thought, if I'm going to say it, say it now. LOL
I love watching all of the treasures you find. My heart skipped a beat with the Red Wing vase - when I lived in Minnesota, I collected Red Wing crocks. Thank you for all your inspiration and congrats on the new little one!
Seagrams VO is a blended Canadian whiskey. The VO is said to mean "Very Own" as Seagram's created it for their family.
I bought a fake Prada at my goodwill today thinking it was real and a Columbia sweater that ended up being stained! Such a fail! I feel awful! So glad I have your goodwill videos to watch everyday to cheer me up 😊
Just a learning opportunity!! Get rid of that f word!
Try some Dawn dish soap on the stain
I had to learn the different types of enamel work during my introduction to Art History class in university. It actually was a very helpful course as explained the different artistic movement eras i.e . art deco, art nouveau, the enlightenment. It actually comes in helpful when looking at treasures from the past.
You are fun to watch! I love that you find matching lids, and push items back on the shelf so they don’t fall.
I think the flowered piece is a sewing basket...missing an insert
That’s what Andrew said when I showed him! 😂
My grandmother used one for her active crocheting project
That trunk was amazing! I would have snapped that up quick! Worth at least 300.00.
The small box thing is a sewing box.
Omg a beautiful horse….
The placemat is one of four done by Pimperel and the floral is from Winterthur in Delaware.
The planter was awesome, my mom would love that! Taking her to the antique place nearby on Thursday, hope to find her a great birthday present! Oh, and you are absolutely beaming!! You really are wearing pregnancy well!
It’s a wonder anything that ends up in the GW survives!! They just throw things in bins and hope for the best. It makes me so crazy.
Hello Jocelyn. Another great show. Make sure you are getting enough rest! You look fantastic.
Oh that Daisy lamp was so beautiful ty for the ride along 🦋
I think the cloth-covered box is a vintage lunchbox to take to school or work. The sunflower tray is quite pretty for Fall. Good stuff :)
The flowered box is a sewing box from the 1970s. It came with a plastic tray that sat on pegs near the top. Mine is up in my attic.
The carousel 🎠 tea pot 🤩
My grandma had a bunch of those jasco bells . I looked them up they aren't worth much but the nastalgia!
The little teepee and figures were simple and nice. The floral box was cute and I think could be useful for many things.
Morning Joycelyn, love coming around with you every morning at six thirty ,that’s the start of my day ,I get my fix ha much love Ann uk 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧❤️❤️❤️
Hi 👋 Ann how are you doing?
Do you ever come across paper dolls? I have been collecting since I was a child, always looking for more. Great haul today. Thanks for sharing!
Oh my! I need that Longfellow plate!! Please grab it!🥺 I'm in Maine so I can't get it myself.
It’s a sewing /knitting kit box
Thank you looking forward to seeing you tomorrow!!!
@:31 it looks there is a Vintage Littonware microwave round cooker. I had seen a cute Christmas gnome made from bush/tree on Pinterest two years ago and needed something for the nose. I picked up this cooker out thrifting to use for the nose. Well like a lot of things on Pinterest I just couldn’t get my tree to cooperate. I ended up flipping my $3 Littonware (nose) for $30.
I enjoyed your shopping.Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your information about cloisonné. I learn something new every day!!😊
I really like the Daisy fairy light, so springy!
VO is seagrams vo whiskey. The vo stands for”very own”.
If I recall correctly, the atomic starry dishes may have been sold in supermarkets at a piece a week. I recall having some similar to those.
That is right, my mother in law has a set. They’re pretty cool looking!
I think the flowered box is a sewing box
You pick up the best fairy lights! I have yet to find one, even though I look for one every time I shop.
Woohoo! Clicked so fast!
Hi Joycelyn - That really unusual print that says V.O. & Seltzer. Seagrams V.O. Is whiskey 🥃🤗
If that yellow cookware said "COOKS", it's worth picking up! Their other colors sell well, too.
The duck is McCoy I think, had a pair, also with a chipped bum, lol!
I think the blue sky piece is an underplayed to something. Usually a little house or cottage or something.
The floral trivet is actually from the company pimpernel. I grew up with some of their placemats and we also had some pimpernel coasters with bunnies on them
Thr item you called a trivet, I think, is a placemat...my parents lived in England, and that is what they used them for, anyway...
You teach so much! Thank you!
You are having a baby! Congratulations!
They stick the glassy babies in bags too.. Some aren't marked on the bottom
Those glass canisters that have the tilted openings are actually Italian and can be quite spendym esp if you find the pink ones.
I benging you while getting through covid. THANK YOU for this awesome content
I like your channel, but I real miss you playing in the dirt too. 😊
The blue sky tea light is the base for what is most likely a house that sits on top.
VO is Canadian Blended Whiskey.
V.O. is not Brandy, it is a brand of whiskey. My mom used to like V.O. and 7-Up. My dad owned his own bar, so that is how I know. 😋
V.O. is a whiskey from Seagrams which is a Canadian liquor Company. Good call Beverly!
English trivet/placemat. Same company as the coasters that come up pretty often.
I immediately thought moorecroft on the flower vase
The large wooden things is a mortar and pestle my grandmother had one with one of the big wooden salad bowls
I glad to see you purchase more modern/contemporary goods. Many of them (even ones made in China) are now considered vintage.
You have the nicest complexion always looking pretty and fresh
V.O. is a Seagram's Canadian Whisky. The oral history says is stands for Very Own because it was first blended for the family.
The atomic dishes were plentiful in the blue/same pattern; glad you did not buy the gold ones; because you just knew it, the tape would pull the gold paint off, even with soaking. Thanks again Joselyn our special CLL!
And thank you for telling us about cloisonné and champleve..I didn’t know that either..😊
The artist Kevin McAlpin is quite well known. He made some beautiful things.
That trunk had the ol’ classic tole painting on it
Thank you for talking about champleve. We were at a home this weekend that had a lot of Asian decor. I had picked up some pieces but put them back down because I knew they were not cloisonné. I figured there was likely a term but we were buying a lot and I didn’t feel like searching for proper terminology when I had plenty to pick that I already knew the information. The estate company was asking a decent price on the pieces. They were probably really good pieces as this estate company generally prices items at a fair market value which does allow some room for profit.
Now I know! I appreciate the information
The voices in my head say:
NO MORE COFFEE MUGS 🤣
you make me laugh and I love you so!!! ☕
Star Glow. I love it.
I love watching your, have learned a lot. On this the little plate you couldn't figure out what it was it's a tealight holder saying "place tealight here"
Hi Jocelyn. Loved the hat box but I think it's a handbag instead. Loved the two fairy lights. Looking forward to seeing the next one.
I prefer your videos to most others( ok I have to ck Michael just to hear his laugh)and look forward to each new shopping trip but some how missed the news of your pregnancy, just wanted to send love to you and your little family, take good care, remain positive and keep us posted ❤️ 🙏🏼
That's alcohol picture is awesome
The cloisonne vases are very modern made by acid etching the metal then filled with enamel more like champlev'e.
Thanks for the new knowledge angle while i source. Very Interesting. I could watch for hours.
I'm pretty sure the black floral box with the top is a sewing basket.
I think the floral case might be a purse or lunch box. Super cute!
I thought lunch box too!
I was thinking it could be a sewing box.
@@sarahfernandez8444 me too
Sewing box
Love the fairy lamps❤️🙏🇨🇦🥰👍
I did enjoy your video and I wish you happy congratulations on your pregnancy. May it go well throughout. Great news…
That wood candle holder would be good for holding scissors ✂️ ☺️
Pretty sure that last find was an ice cream box decorated.
That Blue Sky tealight dish is the bottom piece to a two piece set. It's missing it's Ornate top cover that would rest on the plate. To be exact....It's the bottom plate to Pinky's laudromat... I recognize it because of those suds bubbles...I have one just like for sale that's been sitting not going anywhere...oddly enough, after watching this video yesterday someone bought mine this morning. So weird how that happens. 😲
Jocelyn - your skin is looking ridiculously beautiful 😭
Fyi collect holiday thru out the year!
you make me wanna go thrifting haha
The one thing my Ill Will gets rigt is using wide masking tape to keep plates together. You can't see throught it, but it's less likely to take paint off. That flowered trunk looked like a machinist's tool chest with a fancy paint job. I wouldn't have shelled out $80 on it either; those flowers didn't belong there.
That unknown box is a sewing kit lol your so young
I've had those lighthouse plates for over 20 years! 🤣 mine are very worn out. 😉
Cup and Saucer without the handles are bone broth cups
Champlevé enameling technique is pronounced "shomp leVAY" since the accent is on the last e. It translates literally to "raised field" (champ meaning background area in this case).
So fun thank you Jocelyn
I have that Starbucks mug in my ebay store. I just listed all my coffee mugs for 50% off. I just have so many!! But awesome ones!
Nice
I sure wished I lived closer to you. You always find alot of stamps but I'm in Tennessee
Oh no, you left the yellow Club pot 😢. I know you don’t do pots and whatnot, but that was a good one. VERYvintage, you would have probably even enjoyed using it
That crock purse looked like a Brighton in the bin
V.O. is a whiskey.
A sewing basket
Your necklace today is amazing!
Thank-you. I purchased it from a local artist. K.Olsonceramics.
The place t light here is the base for a piece that’s missing😉
