Nice review, spot on tasting notes! This whisky is quite intense in the nose, falls out on the palate, and only garners an average score overall. I was able to grab it on sale at $72, which feels like the right price for this. Cheers! 🥃
Very interesting! I hadn't seen this one yet but I do love a good 'cut stick'! I'd certainly give this a go. I expect when price and availability are factored in I'm more likely to be buying this than that Springbank unobtainium 😉Cheers 🥃
I still can't get over the rebranding of the line. I'm still not sure if I like it better or not...time will tell. Glenmorangie is an easy pick up for us most of the time even though the last few Tales have been a bit boring. I appreciate the over 45% ABV and the unique sherry cask wood makes this very interesting. Cheers to ya!
Well bought the malaga and cognac before. Ordered this one as well for around 78 euro including delivery. It's not to expensive for the age and just nice to have the 3 combined. Not bad price compared to 12 year old macallan or some japanse whisky
Wow John you scored it really high. This one is really not for me. It's not a bad whisky but I think it's a lazy whisky. 2 years ago they released the Malaga cask which was absolutely delicious. 3 years finishing in Malaga casks on the classic 10 made for a gorgeous whisky. This one felt hot on the nose and diluted on the palate. Glad you liked it though, cheers!

Rebranding doesn’t bother me as long as the juice is good.

After the disastrous cognac barrel select, I'm skeptical of any Glenmorangie special release.
Understandable but consensus leans towards this release. Worth a shot IMO!

With all it’s faults I still enjoy it quite well as it reminds me of Madeira for some reason.
