Great review John I am re-watching this as I am on vacation this weekend and brought a bottle of the 10 year with me. It is delightful and I agree with your tasting notes. I think I will pick up a bottle of last year‘s as it is still available in my area, I will have tocompare the two I also have a couple back up bottles of this as I heard good reviews about it. I’m glad that I picked them up.
@@kirbycalgary2844 thanks 🙏 Yes I have one put aside as well… I have a feeling this might be sought after in the future. So far the 2023 is my favorite 🤩 Cheers 🥃
Great review John and nice to tell us about the comparison with the previous releases. This one sounds like a delicious one. I'll be looking out for it, cheers!
Hearing the Boston accent slip out made me smile. Surprised to hear the results. The 2023 is $110 by me and the 2024 is also that price. 2024 is selling out more. Sadly though 2023 is not being discounted by me. If it was $87 I’d spring for it. I didn’t buy any Cairdeas since 2020 value wasn’t there For me at over $100.
@@TheReal_DeanD very perceptive… born and raised an hour south of Boston. Cairdeas will always be a purchase for me…as long as it doesn’t get Ardbeg crazy! Cheers 🥃
@@justwhisky oh nice the pricing for Laphroaig is good there for you and not Ardbeg like. It is close to Ardbeg crazy around me. I keep hoping for sales though.
Great review John. Glad to hear you've enjoyed last year's as that's the bottle I managed to get hold of a few months ago. I have been on the fence for getting this year's as it's not available locally. I will have to source it from out of province so the additional cost of getting a bottle has kept me away. Maybe I will wait for a few months to see if it shows up to avoid the hassle. Cheers to the summer🍹
@@Faisalhossain-s5h challenging question… I would tuck away a Cairdeas 2024 for the future as I believe this will be in high demand and fondly remembered… however if you can find Redbreast PX for under $100 buy as many as you can to drink. Bottom line for me : Redbreast Px is more quaffable and enjoyable for any occasion! Cheers 🥃
Wow....I guess that's why so many different scotches are available. I am COMPLETELY "upside down cake" from your rankings. Excluding the 2024 (which I'm in the process of acquiring), my top to bottom is reversed from yours, which I find very interesting. I do enjoy them all though. Cheers All!
I agree with your review 100%: I like the '23 more than the '24. Maybe it's because sherry and peat are not my favorites (the '24), and maybe because wine finish/maturation and peat are some of my favorites (like the '23 and many Port Charlottes). The '24 is delicious and nicely balanced, don't get me wrong, but the '23 is extra special for me-it's like a Laphroaig take on the Port Charlotte formula.
@@KakoGuzmanMusic well said…. I saw your original comment via email but for some reason it didn’t appear on my post 🤷♂️couple days ago… That 2023 White Port/Madeira is something special. Cheers 🥃
Great review, I'm still waiting for the New Cairdeas to hit the shelves in my area. The PX Cairdeas just doesn't work for me, I think they went overboard on the PX. Always good to see Hazel. Cheers!
