They had space for HDMI port back in 2011...today even headphone jack doesn't find its place!!
jack is nothing to do with the space ,its about making more money for crapple
@@freakipz5002 Actually, they make a lot of money from the dongles/adapters. There are facts that back this up but I can't be bothered to find it.
@@freakipz5002 back in the day manufacturers could somehow find the money to sell a flagship for half the price (compared to today), and could also find enough capital to include plenty of accessories like headphones or a case; compared to today you pay more than twice as much (in some cases) and you just get a charging brick and a cord.
Accessories cost them little to manufacture, yet they sell them separately for $20-$30 a piece. I mean how does a third party charging cord cost like $6 vs an apple cord that'll cost me $25? Does Apple use solid gold lines? It's the first party branding you're paying for.

Well I do think there is enough phones for 150€ that are better in so many ways than an iphone 4S, back in the day when we used normal cellphones I used a Nokia 3310 in school and (he is not my best friend anymore) shittalked me for having such a mobile. When actually the only difference was if it could play music and taking pictures. I told him if I want to take a picture, I use a camera. Maybe not true today, but back then a usual phone that most people could afford... if it had a camera... I think it had like 0.8MP sensors. Lol. What a waste, the pictures were absolute dogshit.

I still think around 5" is the sweet spot for screen size. I don't get the hype around huge displays.
Tbf though with the whole bezeless smartphone trend it has allowed phones to remain at a relatively small size despite the bigger screens. I mean for example an iphone xs is actually alot smaller then a iphone 6s despite a bigger screen. So its not all bad

'Uninteresting' but functional. Id rather a bezel-less phone myself. Whats on the screen is what I'm interested in. There's a reason so many phones look alike these days, and it's not just becasue they have no imagination. Except for the XZ3 Compact and the Pixel 3, this segment is pretty much empty.
I've been using Galaxy S3 for the last 6 years. Looking for a replacement, I focused on finding something with a comparable screen size/form factor and those two you've mentioned (+ iPhone 7/8) were the closest. In the end I settled for Pixel 2 (same form factor, smaller screen). I have pretty big hands, but still need to adjust this phone in my palm to reach the top corners of the screen. Absolutely agree. The Xperia Arc S was one of the most aesthetically good looking phones. This was my first Android phone, and while Android 4 was quite terrible, and the software experience was underwhelming even back then, the design was superb.
Wow, smartphone design has changed quite a lot since 2011.
Sadly in a wrong way
Using my 2016 lenovo k6 power in 2020
has everything I want
~5 inch fhd screen
~Dolby atmos(its sounds better than modern phones with same dolby software ...idk how)
~Dual speakers
~4000mah battery(still lasts a full day)
~still serviceable 8mp front cam, but bad back camera(hav to accept that)
....has more than wat u get from a 135$ (10000₹) phone
i hv k5 note.. 4/64 variant.. i still paying PUBG 😂🤣😅
Same phone here buddy k6 power
And those days I used to beg my parents for buying these. How time changes..
I never even dared to beg my parents to buy this...
Shit I still use my Sony Xperia z3 compact, still a pretty good phone
I still use my Xperia Z everyday. Lmao
Same here i use my z5 everyday and if it gets broken i will.buy a z5 aswell i love that phone
My phone is a Xperia Z1 xD it's great
"Things get obsolete fast". Smh watching this on iPhone 6.
P.S.
Im not being an apple fan boy, I'm just bothered why people upgrade every year or 2 like it is a requirment to do so.
Tbf though the iphone 6 is alot newer then this phone. Smartphone advances were alot bigger in the past then today. Nowadays the changes are rather minor. I reckon phones today will last longer then phones from 2011
Adrian Recamadas because after 2 years you’re device starts slowing down and it’s outdated tech.
Now I see where Sony got the inspiration for the PS5, lol
Good old times!
wow that is cool my very first Sony before is with Sony Ericsson and it is still alive there then I left at home and it was just keeped ehehehehehehhe...... I wanna buy a new battery for that sony of mine too. cause I miss it too you've reminded me like of this video 😁🤩😁
I still have a Galaxy S5 for work. It still works great.
i use galaxy s5 to :P
@@ovidel I'm still using a samsung galaxy S3 :)))), and it's doing a good job in two main functions :))
I have s 3 mini works great too
s5 one of the worst phones
@@MrWalker1000 So shit that's why they Needed Cristiano Ronaldo to sell it 😂😭
I think this was the last phone released under the flag of Sony Ericcson, and it has a lot of that Ericcson design language still in it. Definitely one of the most attractive of my previous phones and the "feel in the hand" was very high. The camera was also pretty decent, I seem to remember. But it really did lack performance and updates to the OS pushed by Sony really made it worse. But I stuck with Sony a little longer and went down their later Xperia phones.
1:12, I still own one of these phones ( the one in the middle (Sony Xperia C2305) ) I heard they stopped making them though how sad
it's still working perfectly fine with me as my second phone, sad that it only has 1Gb ram though
I still own Samsung Galaxy S2!!

I still have s2. Now im on note 9
Nik Šignjar Žilavec bet that was a massive change
@@thegenderfaerie no, i also had s5 and s7 edge. But its amazing how many things have changed from s2 to note 9.
I am here with the gs4 mini ..with miui custom rom 😂
I rmb my friend playing need for speed on his galaxy s2
This was actually my first Android phone and only god know how much I really loved it back in the days. Just unlocking the bootloader on my Arc / and flashing a optimized custom kernel (Doomkernel) on it for unleashing the full potential of the SOC it came with was a great experience all by itself honestly.
Every mobile back then had a unique style htc, sony, samsung. Now it's just a brick, plain and simple
Is it me or why you sound less exited than you used to? Great content anyway ✌🏻
I think I'd just pulled an all nighter haha!
@@Mrwhosetheboss haha, that's it! Thanks for replying :)
Back then there was so much scope in design, nowadays they r only focusing on providing notch or full display.
And that same old brick shaped phone is so redundant now.. Back then, every company had a unique factor that made us go for it than just ram and camera
You forgot camera... More and more cameras on the back.
@@waltwalters7600 so true. they just keep adding cameras and keep removing some inportant stuff like headphone jacks, external SD or sim 2 slots. not to mention most phones these days have non-removable batteries. 🤔
2:01 Notch Spotted!😁
Bitch please
I'm still using a 2013 alcatel one touch.
The original company doesn't exist anymore lol
Those were the days
Watching this in my Sony Xperia m c2005
I really want sony to make a good smartphone that I actually want to buy.
If you don't buy, you just don't. Saying pointless thing that implies you are pointless
It's not hard to hate something, but it's really hard to find reasons to love something
Amen
I actually agree with you, Sony Ericsson's design used to be so aesthetics, nowadays Sony phone just looks like a block of brick
No matter how good it actually is I wouldn't want to buy Sony's phone nowadays, it just looks bad
Correction (2:38) - The first mainstream mobile phone to use a dual core processor is the LG Optimus 2X
Wow that was my first phone. So cool to se it in a video. I was like seven and thought it was a usles phone compired to my parentes phones. Sry for bad English I am from sweden.
Sweden looks like a country with nice people
An Hdmi port in phones I didn't know if that even exist 🤓
Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc was my first phone in midnight blue color. It was so light and slim.My phone was the best smartphone among my friends.Until one of my korean friend came up with Galaxy S2 with front camera😂.
I had very nice time with that phone.
#makebeliev
11 year old Sony phone: 40 mins screen on time
My iPhone 6s (4-5 years old): 15 mins screen on time
Can't compare with my Siemens s35 ... .. ha ^^
yeah, that phone is quite the brick but still quite durable. Like it is virtually impossible to break the phones back then by dropping it. unlike them moderns phones who seems to be designed to break down so that the stores can perpetually charge money for repairs and additional accessories to the phone. accessories that once were parts of the phone like the removal of the audio jack.
Neither with my Nokia e51. The only way I managed to destroy it was in a motorcycle accident at 75mph. The thing was strapped to my belt and I rolled over it on the asphalt. After I recovered and got out of the hospital, the damn phone had it's screen broken, but was STILL WORKING! All keys were scraped but worked, making phone calls normally, even connecting to Bluetooth.
It reminds me of my Xperia Play... too bad that it didn't got the exposure it deserved even tho it had one of the greatest invention ever in a smartphone
It had a lot of potential with the PS function, but too bad that never took off.
I like buttons I never get used to touchscreen when typing. It's crap.

Heyyyy my mums first smartphone was an old xperia like this one! It also ended up being my first phone as a hand me down as well,
I remember that day when my friend's buyed new sony arc s and Motorola razor, i was just 16 back then with no phone. Today i have a job and buyed OnePlus 6T last month.
If only I had the money to buy a smartphone every two years. I'm lucky Sony devices last since I don't buy anything except the Xperia. My 7 year old Xperia T and 4 year old Xperia Z5 say hi 😥
I still use my Z5 and no problems. Why i should buy a new one when the Z5 works prrfectly. I always buy a new one when my old one gets destroyed like my arc s doesnt survive some falling damage and my z3 compact got overheat and the display gets out but my z3 get repaired for free so im lucky i think
@@TheReptain My Z5 suffered a virus/fall. It messed up the calling system, where I can't basically hangup unless I have headphones in. But other than that, the phone is great after a hard reset. But I have a need for a new one, you still have a limited 32gb internal memory, even if you add a 124gb sd

OMG; OMG; OMG; OMG.... God this video was so good. And it just came to me. I really think it was. Because Sony should really think about this. Nokia was gone for years, when Microsoft stoped using their NOKIA branding name. When HMD got the right to do phones under the NOKIA brand they didnt just release smartphones just like the rest. They release nostalgia first. Many says Sony should release less phones but Nokia release 10 phones during 2017, and they released 15 phones during 2018. And they still did do better than Sony who released 10 phones during 2017 and 7 Phones during 2018. And Despite Less Phones SONY is still sinking. Why? Nostalgia is why. SONY is not only a Premium brand but a Nostalgia brand. Just like NOKIA. They once were there fighting with Sony, Ericsson and NOKIA. SONY where never a big brand of their own, but They were big as Sony Ericsson. Sony should go Nostalgia. Look at NOkia, they release NOKIA 3310Dual SIM/3G/4, (three nostalgia looking phones) and Nokia 8110 4G called the matrix-phone because its a homage to that phone in the Matrix. People like it, and bought them. The reason NOKIA go good again, is because that people bought these phones in masses. And on the side they did Cheap Smartphones with android with good build qualty. Sony has also done this, but their phones arent cheap, they do not go nostalgia despite they actually could. They do have the right to use Sony Ericsson design. I even think they did go a little nostalgia with the Sony Xperia XA2 - modelseries, because its kinda close to that design, and to be honest it seemed to have been that years more popular Sony phones.
I think that is Sony made a Sony arc 2 with todays specsheet, they would get a hit. But instead of using that plastic that they used during that time, they should of course use a carbonite plastic. Or aluminium. Even though the bezels looks to be thin, they are actually bigger, but the design is so good, so you really dont care about them. So if you did this design, and put a bigger screen into it, it would definately have people looking at it. This is what SONY is missing. Nostalgia. Its just to look at this thread, most people do only talk about Sonys bezels, but no one really complaints about Sony Ericsson bezels. why, because they made it look good. They were in sense modern thanks to the design. I would really buy a Arc 2, or a Ray 2 (Wich would be the compact version. lol.
And one more thing. SONY really needs to do cheaper phones again. Why not making dumbphones for older people that dont really need smartphones. The T20e or why not T610 or K700 WALKMAN PHONES:... Goood... SONY got gold in their hands, and they cant see it.
I belong to the minority of people nowadays that are still searching for compact and small smartphones. They are so much more convenient!
I wonder how much of a minority we really are.
And sony still makes compact
@@IdExCS
I'm with you guys, been using SE for a while. GF says why don't you switch to bigger phone. I don't know why but I just like small compact phones anything above 5 inches is a big no no for me. Hope smartphone manufacturers make a beezeles and thin compact phone I'd even shell out 5 grand for that masterpiece.
Indeed, smartphones are becoming tablets, I also prefer compact phones... there's nothing like one-handed use, anything bigger than 4.7" is a no-go for me
@@andynaka
Yup exactly, I see people carrying these big 6.5 inch phones and I'm like what's the use of such big screens. Instead just buy a big TV for movie and gaming duh..

That phone is from late 2013, not 2011 :P in 2 years it will be useless.

Yep its a face, Sony Ericsson did know how to do phones, even though it wasnt the best your could get at that time, but the design were nice. To be honest I cant hear anyone argue here about the bezels. lol And I think that its because this is a good design. I think this is what Sony should have done for real. Go back and look at some of their more famous designs. The Arc, The neo or even Xperia S (wich I think they did revisit with XA2 devices)
