I'm glad you got a chance to attend and experience everything. It really was an amazing event. I was teaching and running panels most of the time, so I didn't get to check it all out, but even during my media room, bass management, and networked audio panels, it was great seeing all of the engagement and questions that everyone had. Can't wait for next year. Brett

They seemed pretty comparable. For comfort I think it comes down to personal taste and which one feels better for you. I am curious how they compare with regards to durability and longevity. Unfortunately I couldn’t really determine that in the short amount of time I checked them out.
Did u hear any atmos difference in the scendo vs jtr set ups. Jtr having them up high on the sides and scendo having up high but in the middle with 2 less atmos speakers??
I don’t think there was a major difference between the two in that regard. The two rooms showed different clips so it’s hard to say if there was any meaningful difference
The screen in the Grimani room was 220" wide, 240" diag. Seymour - Screen Excellence Enlighter Neo. We brought 13 screens to KC, that room was the biggest. We were in the JTR Cinemike, Projector comparison and Ascendo rooms as well.

I love my GoldenEar speakers. The sound is so clear and almost perfect. I’m driving them with crown amps. However, I recently picked up some new monoblock amps to drive my LCR speakers. Stay tuned for the video update…

Interesting. I was actually a bit disappointed with that room. Ascendo was the main reason I went to MWAVE, as I was considering them for my next speaker upgrade. Heading in a different direction now. I liked JTR, RBH, and Grimani better.
@@brucecarter6205 I wish Ascendo would have played at reference level. They went out of their way to say they were playing at "realistic" levels, but it wasn't loud enough for me. The SVS room pushed it to reference upon request and it was uncanny just how much that made it sound like the other rooms. I also heard JTR's room at +2 over reference and enjoyed every second of it.
@@bmac5971 For the most detail RBH hands down. Those AMT tweeters have incredible detail retrieval. Funny how different we all hear and perceive sound. You are right though, all 4 rooms were amazing in different ways. 1) JTR 2) RBH 3) Grimani 4) Ascendo. RBH and Grimani were pretty much a tie for me. Grimani may have been the best overall, but I found that system a touch bright and fatiguing during the louder passages. Also, it could have used a bit more infrasonic bass.

I loved the SVS room. They did a demo with their towers that have built-in subwoofers. I was impressed with the effectiveness of the bass despite being in such a large room. Put those towers in a living room or a dedicated home theater space and they would do just fine.

I need to update my surrounds, but I want an on wall solution, wanted to stay in the svs fam but they dont have a great optioon, you can out the booksheleves on a wall arm or something supposedly but maybe the ascendo's would be better, thanks
Sadly hardly any one spoke about svs this year. They need to pick up their game. Put more speakers and subs in there if they want to at least have a chance to compete.

What did you think of Rowone vs Valencia chairs?

what kind of screens were they and where can you get them? I'm looking to get a screen that is at least 14 feet wide and 7 feet tall.

They were sooo good. I went back to that room 3 times.

I love my GoldenEar speakers. The sound is so clear and almost perfect. I’m driving them with crown amps. However, I recently picked up some new monoblock amps to drive my LCR speakers. Stay tuned for the video update…

No doubt who plays loud and deep, but I thought the Ascendo was more detailed. They were all amazing.

Most theaters movie theaters are running JBL very high efficiency speakers, best is to snag them on the second hand market.
