You are a super star .. I love your channel .. I have just started to learn how to sublimate ..
BEAUTIFUL!!!! Thank You!!! I have MANY items to do for our County Fair 4-H awards!!!
Have you ever tried this with a matte finish laminate sheet? I appreciate the tutorial - very helpful for someone just starting out. Keeps us from wasting money trying different methods!
Yes, but I prefer the gloss finish. Matte works just as well.
Thank you for making this easy to understand.
Really helpful Roger, I'm just starting with sublimation, waiting for my heat press to arrive!!😊Robbie🔔
Nice video.I will try your methods. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.
So glad I found your videos. Thank you.
Thank you for the video...it's such a great idea. I'm going to give it a go this weekend.
Thanks Roger :D
Thanks for sharing this knowledge. It’s indeed helpful 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you. I like laminate better as it’s also easier. I bought wood already laminated and ready to go but this way can buy sizes and shapes best fit me
Thank you for sharing. Have learned a lot from your videos. Can’t wait to try this method.
Thank you I appreciate what you do. I have been looking to do this.
Fantastic, thank you for sharing the knowledge
Would you decrease heating time for thinner wood? Thanks and your videos are really helpful and clear and easy to understand.
No. Time remains the same
@@rogersshop Thanks so much!!!
Cool vidoe. Thanks for sharing. For the laminate one I can see extra laminate on the edge. Is there a way to take that off so it can't be seen?
I trimmed it off with a craft knife (XACTO) later
Roger do you mind saying what printer you use for sublimation? Thanks and I like your videos and your detailed instructions!
Epson 2720 and Sawgrass SG 1000
Hello! Love this video. Will the laminate peel off? Is that ink permanent too?
The laminate will not peel off if kept indoors. I haven't tried this outdoors, but I would think that the UV from the sun would break it down over time. The ink is permanent once sublimated.
Roger, Can you tell me the time and temp for sublimating on acrylic ? Is 385 @ 60 seconds a good place to start?
Can you do the laminate with a home iron? I don't have access to a heat press.
It can also be done with a Cricut Easy Press if you keep firm pressure. Never tried it with an iron, but if attempting, make sure the project is small enough to fit under the iron.
For the polychrylic you said you applied, sand, applied again, sand again and apply again how do you know that you're not standing off the polycyclic
A light sanding with 220 grit paper to knock down any small "bumps" or air bubbles. Same method as when finishing furniture.
Would the lamination method work on canvas boards that are around 4mm thick? Thanks!
Yes. I'vew done this on canvas many times using Laminate.
@@rogersshop Thanks!
Does the laminate go blurry after 12 months
No. But it will fade if in direct sunlight.
hey i was wondering if you knew which 3m film you used on the wood?

Hi Roger.... will self stick laminate work or does it have to be thermal laminate..... I bought self stick but haven't tried it yet. Thank you!
Do you recommend using 3 Mil laminate or 5 Mil?
I use the 3 mil.
Great, because I ordered 200 of them LOL@@rogersshop
Are you using wax parchment paper?
No. I never use wax coated paper on any heat transfer project.
Do you do the printing yourself or have someone do it for you?
Done here. Either on a converted Epson 2720 or our Sawgrass SG1000, depending on size.
👏🏼👏🏼
