Nice overview George and congratulations on the new kayak! It looks quite promising. As you noted, looks like quality footrests, and I can attest to all the pros of having a really light kayak handy in many situations. I must say I really like the layout - that's a really good-looking kayak. In some ways somewhat similar in looks to a SUP as you alluded to. Probably the carry handle in the middle that makes me think of a SUP. Bungees look good. It all looks really good simply. Hope the seat turns out to work well and that you like the kayak on the water! Welcome to the world of the light kayaks 🙂
It's funny in a way because I told myself I would never buy another small lite kayak again because the one I had before just couldn't handle the slightest breeze that's why I got rid and picked up the X500 however when I spotted this and noticed it was a hundred percent drop stitch I thought that will be great. As for the yak yes it looks like a SUP with a tube around the side of it lol But it does look beautiful and the colours really pop out.
@@THE-RIVER-RAT Indeed! I imagine as well that the full drop stitch should make a real difference. Hope it works well on the water! My guess is it will, within reasonable parameters.
The quality and details are levels above the x500. If only there were a sit in dropstitch kayak of that quality. I'll be interested to learn how it compares to the Pakayak. The seaeagle might suit you even better
Perhaps ! One of the reasons I wanted this is for its hard construction and travel ability But also for the rare days when the sun's out so I can put the seat back and lay down. To be honest, if she handles like she's meant to, and I can't see any reason why it shouldn't after watching Cliffs and Kens review, then I can see myself using this boat a lot more than the PakAyaK (But we will have to wait and see what happens on Saturday when I take it out for the first time) Also yes David the quality is excellent, and did impress me
Glad it was helpful! Found out today it handles strong winds very well But it was still a hard paddle (the weather forecast said 5mph all day and at times it was about 15+)
You must have missed it near the end when I talked about this. I got it from Spindrift UK but you must pre-order if you want one for September unless you're very lucky. Check out the last 15 minutes of the video 👍
@@THE-RIVER-RAT Thanks, look forward to the water test! I had a Tootega Hydrolite previously which I really liked but wanted to get away from having to lift a kayak onto the car roof all the time.
Ive been watching a ton of videos in preperation to getting an inflatabke and wish to compliment you on this one-in fact Im going to subsribe to your channek(the first kyak reveiwer Ive subscribed too).Incidently,Ive decided on this kyak-sure its expensive, but in the long run I think it will be worty it.What u think?
Firstly Thanks, and I'm happy you enjoyed the review. As for the kayak I have to say I think it's great, and very well made. This kayak is perfect for new paddles and more advanced paddlers too. So I'm sure you will love it. However, personally, I did find the seat a little uncomfortable (But that's not to say you will) But I did change the seat for the Aqua Marina High-Back Kayak Seat here's a link to the seat www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0849X6N6S/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Hope this helps. Also please feel free to ask if you have any questions.
Great vid very thorough with the review, look beautiful close up looks tough as nails too!
Cant wait to see it in action.
You and me both! Matey 👍
