You think you’re going fast at the local track and then you see clips of Conner and Brian riding it 😮 quick work guys and Brian can’t wait to see you back out there after the injury. ✌🏻
Thanks buddy, almost there!
You guys should note that the Forbidden has released the V2 Druid.
Why?
Agreed! I believe it may be disadvantage to the Druid because you’re reviewing the old one.
@@saams I know people and have ridden a bike with the Cascade link for the Druid V1. Thought, it’s feels amazing!
This was shot well before the V2 release, hence why there is no mention of it.
@@saams Druid + Cascade link + -1˚ angle set + 160mm fork = a killer bike
This series is the best. Thank you for putting in the work to make such great content.
i feel Connor's haircut gives him an unfair advantage
I think it’s the other way around my guy
Shoot rough way to finish up a test session. Heal up and keep up the content. Fun to hear the back-to-back frame comparisons - unless you're actively demo'ing or buying new bikes every few months, most of us don't get to really hear how different modern enduro/trail bikes can be.
Almost back in the bike! Will have more shootouts coming your way.
Cool video. Too bad about the injury. Can't wait for the next video.
I have a Druid V1 with a Cascade link and the bike just rips. It makes a lot of sense on east coast tech trails, great through the chunk, but a moderate enough wheelbase to get around our tight janky shit. Size L hard a 465 reach, so easy to move around and handle, jumps great as Brian noticed. Very fun bike.
How does the cascade link change the behavior of the bike?
@@cben86 well I got the bike second hand with the Cascade link in place, so I have no frame of reference, but it makes the leverage curve more progressive and increases overall suspension travel. Basically makes the bike harder to bottom out and increases the mid travel support. And you can run slightly lower pressure as a result. Even more bottomless feel :)
@@rstrakovsky Thanks for the thorough response. Sounds like an awesome bike
Thanks for this, hope you are back on the bike soon. The Druid (droo-uhd, two syllables) is definitely a cool bike. This test helps to confirm for me that the rider is way more important than the bike, at least when the bikes are comparable in tech level.
I stopped watching after the first Drood.
I like this series, keep it going!
I'd be interested in the difference between the 29'er Druid or the mullet set up which is what I have.
I've never ridden the 29'er, and while I find the mullet very stable, is also super playful.
God man, that looked brutal. Glad you healed up alright.
Neat seeing trails I grew up riding on Vital
Where is this? Looks awesome
@@cben86 It's in the Oakland hills. Don't want to reveal too much since its not a "legal" trail, but one of the names I've heard it called is College Dropout which could be a hint.
@@samfletcher4808 much appreciated
Purely hypothetical... It would be neat see you guys race against WC caliber xc racer on their wips. Sign up jolanda!
Would you say the high pivot is harder to manual? If so how would you compare it between the bikes?
AWESOME CONTENT!!
Have you considered putting a coil shock on the instinct?
Or even running the same air shock. Looked like they have a ttx2 on the Druid and a ttx1 on the instinct. I’ve ridden both shocks quite a bit and they have distinctively different feelings. The ttx1 is much much more progressive and “xc race bike” feeling, the ttx2 is much more coil like and feels like a more supportive fox x2.
story goes: you are faster on an oldschool 4-link system when you have a fast haircut
0:41 Looks like the instinct is running some sort of geo adjusting headset, but no mention of it.
Not an angleset, just a 10mm lower headset cup. Rocky specced most 2022 bikes with this taller lower cup due to supply issues last year. Slackens the angles ~0.5 degrees which is comparable to the druid which they have over-forked 10mm to 160mm.
Every.single.time.I've. injured.myself...It's the 80-100% rule.
What Trails is this?
There’s a 30mm gap on the Druid’s suspension?
@@MikeesTexas That’s definitely the only bike I’ve ever seen like this!
How do you mount your gopro on the front like that
It’s under the visor
@@briancahal ok thanks
Will there be a review of the new V2 Druid?
This setup is kinda outdated..
I'd love one of them Rocky Mountain's here in the UK.....Ha !
You can get them here!
Why choose the Druid over the dreadnought?
Because it’s being compared to the instinct another short travel bike. The dreadnought will be featured in an upcoming episode
@@briancahal ah ok
great video as always
but i really dont understand where forbidden positions there bikes on the market(regarding Travel(it seams a little short for the kind of bike they are).
but anyways i think the dreadnought is really cool(and might be my next bike)
Scapula or clavicle?
Scapula
@@briancahal Thats impressive. Its pretty hard to break a scapula.
How quiet, how... ?
Your hair is ridiculous guys 😂
This looks more like downhill than trail for me
first
👍👍👍
