Spend 100 dollars on the game and played it once bc it was almost impossible to play with a keyboard and the controller was virtually unusable.
Currently the Hotas X seems to be supported for me. The game detects the model perfectly and there’s an nice image with labeled buttons included for ease of use. Great video, very helpful for fine tuning little settings, which made a big difference.
@@Huddison maybe , I got it to work after hours yesterday it's alright and I use my Oculus rift s that was good . I didn't know they released a new driver with the hotas x with flight simulator mappings 😅

Today with the release of Flight Sim for Xbox Series X, I was struggling to use the Thrustmaster One HOTAS settings in the default profile on Xbox because some of their buttons were not functioning correctly. With the help of your video I was able to create a customized profile that fixed the problem.
@@AsitGamingOfficial yes both the 4 and the x work with msfs 2020. The difference between the 4 and the x is that the 4 is more PlayStation supported but also works on pc. The x is more pc supported and I don’t know if it works with PS. The layout and the buttons are almost identical just the 4 has PlayStation buttons.

I've been trying to get mine setup and the levers for the rudders don't work, nor does the throttle for increasing the engine speed. Also none of the buttons on the throttle control seem to work as they are assigned, and when I try to reassign them, it gives me Button + Joystick Z- or some silliness.
2:28 with my thrust master X instead of showing a bar it just simply shows button selection for roll left roll right and pitch down. Is there a specific option you have to press so that it shows the bar of input sensitivity?
I'm honestly not sure about the Hotas X, as I don't own one. Have you installed the latest driver for it? Maybe others who own the X and see your comment can help 😊.
On reflection: it sounds to me like you may have inadvertently choosen the wrong input/assignment for your roll & pitch (or the sim has incorrectly choosen these for you). Search through my 'FS 2020 guides and tutorials ' playlist: there you'll see a video on setting up unsupported controllers. I show you how to set the pitch and roll manually.
I have my Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas One plugged into my Xbox One and it is switched to the Xbox on the joystick, but when I go onto MSFS and into the controls options, it is not showing up as a controller. My Xbox does recognize it on the home screen and I can move around apps. But when I go into MSFS it doesn't get recognized. Can anyone help?
I used to have that problem before that latest msfs patch. It now shows up correctly. My saitek x52 still has problems with axis sensitivity almost unflyable. Whereas the Hotas 4 Skymaster edition works out of the box.
Huddison an update, interestingly if you don't install the saitek drivers the yoke is recognised with the graphic and button refer numbers. However for some reason the yaw left and right axis does not work so I've gone back to my manually assigned hotas with the drivers installed.

My hotas 4 works fine on my PS4 on ace combat but new to the xbox world so just wondering if if overlooked anything. The light comes on on the hotas when I plug it in but there is no input, are people using a converter to make there’s work? Thanks in advance for any help
Can I also ask about the other function on the throttle? As you rest your hand on the throttle, there is a rocker switch that goes from left to right and vice versa. What do you use this for and how do you set up this rocker switch? I am guessing for rudders, but can someone enlighten me about this rocker switch? how do you set it up??
Some use it as Rudders, others for trim. I tend to use the twist action as the Rudder and buttons for trim; but it's all personal preference (heck use them for flaps if you want ;).
I am using the HOTAS 4 and when I put my hand within 3 or 4 inches away, the rudder starts "twitching" and when flying the plane will go all over the place. Wondering if you or any viewer may be experiencing the same problem?? Thanks
@@Huddison Yes I uninstalled and reinstalled . Same problem. It's crazy, all of a sudden the plane goes crazy. When I calibrate the HOTAS, I put my hand about 3" away and the rudder starts to fluctuate back and forth. It reacts like it should be grounded some way?? What a crazy situarion.

I’ve had my 4-HOTAS-4 for as long as.MSFS 2029 came out, it worked fantastic until the latest update #5 was released, since then everything has gone down the proverbial Tube. None of my settings in side my canopy work as before,. I can’t look at the at the panels as before, the mouse does is zoom in/out, it won’t let me lmhhhhim my, bit, I was wondering if there is a way to repair it to the original setup so I’m not enjoying this magnificent program. I’ve tried most of your advice to return it to my internal settings to a useful viewing of all the panels, and there use, you could can presume this is desperate call for help, all of my aircraft are having the same problem. Mine is called the Hotas 4, but you can get the Hoptas X for PC. It cost me around £50 when I bought it, but prices seem to have risen a little by then - try and get it between £50-£70.

@@the-entertainment477 The Hotas 4/X are pretty much the same, the sim picks up the Axis and controls for the Hotas, you just need to adjust sensitivities (see my videos).

It's a confliction with MSFS and the latest firmware. To get mouse navigation, you will have to remove the bindings for H2 (right Hat); for now at least.
I watched your great video font to end, in hopes I could get mine back to the original setting I had, and unfortunately, I have no idea how I messed them up. I regress, at this point nothing looks and holds so I can adjust any of the buttons or radios knobs, unfortunately now nothing works inside the cockpit, and only a few work on eternal view. Is there anyway you can possibly steer me in a direction to repair this annoying problem. I did shut down the computer, removed the T.Fight HOTAS 4, removed the software, then followed the original directions, alas, no avail.

@@Huddison MFS2020 Pro Instructor...when I taxi to a very low speed, on my xbox Thrusmaster, my aircraft has a mind of its own, at first it turns as I direct but then off it goes, left or right, opposite what I would like. Any ideas? I should see if my rudder is on those throttle handle at the front...hmmm...
@@ellonysman The 'assistance options' settings, all pretty much reset to easy after the last update - check in there and change to what suits you best.
I just had the same issue rocker switch and twisting the yoke was not being picked up. I fixed it by downloading the drivers from website and installing it.
Installing a driver for it fixed that issue for me - also if you're using the Hotas 4, pressing the 'PS' button (whilst in the Sim) will bring the Rudder (on the Throttle) online
GREAT video. I have the X and the buttons do correspond to yours. Question, I have my rudder on the right "twist"/elevator handle. That way I can use the elevator and rudder in one fluid motion. What do you use the "twist" for?? MSFS 2020 takes quite a bit of research to get it "tweaked" to get a smooth flight both internal and external. Any more tutorial videos will be helpful and thanks again! !! !!!

I was so excited to start using this Hotas, however I am having trouble flying in fs2020. Anyone else, Keep in mind I come from FSX only with no updates or add-ons for 10-15 years! It also seems the Thrustmaster Airbus (backordered worldwide) will be the stick to get for fs2020 ??

When I moved from FSX to FS2020, (I bought a new gaming PC with an RTX 3080 by the way, plus the software and Hotas and 4K monitor, so its a big investment) I realized I don't know how to use the FMC. This was not required in FSX acceleration or steam versions. I cannot simple tune the radio to a NAV frequency and do an ILS landing. I can't control the autopilot. I don't understand VNAV or the FMC controlling a flight. There is no clickable map with frequencies. So I cabn go on and on, maybe FS2020 is still a work in progress but my skills that were honed on FSX, seem to not be adequate in FS2020. Perhaps whatever FSX-add-ons over the years which I have never used (ex: Pr3PRD, or others) leaves me behind in "flight school". Any thoughts?
@@Jasemtl My main suggestion would be to search for Airbus tutorials on RUclips - here is the best one I've come across so far: ruclips.net/video/rNEY23pN-q4/видео.html Next recommendation is to fly something simpler like a Cessna 172 (possibly my favourite aircraft currently in FS2020) and simply marvel at the visual delights of FS2020😊, whilst at the same time, slowly developing new skills needed for this fantastic Sim. Forgive me if I am wrong, but I was looking for a video that showed me which button does what. I am new to the Thrustmaster 4 HOTAS device. Despite the video's title, I did not feel that it lived up to what it advertised as being. I have flown to the Flight Simulator since the early days when it was a SubLogic project. I was very excited to see the advancement in the program's visuals and I was patient to find a computer that could manage the program with ease. I am frustrated that I cannot seem to find information that tells me exactly how to use the Thrustmaster 4. I would appreciate anyone's input on the layout of the buttons and joystick. sorry didn't finish - you can go into your Control Panel, View Devices and Printers, right click on the joystick in the list and select Game Controller Settings, then select Advanced, and it will show you whether all the buttons are working - they will light up when you press them. Broadly 1,2,3,4 are on the main joystick 5,6,7,8 are the XBox style buttons on the back of the thrust lever, 9,10, are on the front, and it seems to have designated the two 'share' and 'options' buttons as 11, 12. Is that what you meant? It helps with translating what's on the buttons into the mapping in FS2020 - this is the link which describes it - support.thrustmaster.com/en/product/tflighthotas4-en/

Hi there! I’m on Xbox series s and own the velocity one flight stick. I’m going to buy a rudder and I have a question for you. What do you think is the best choice. Buy a velocity on rudder or buy the whole thrustmaster flight full kit? With the kit I get a real throttle but lower quality at much lower price. With the velocity one rudder I get a better rudder for a higher price and no stand alone throttle.
The Velocity One Rudders are a massive improvement over the TM Rudders and probably the best in class, in that price range. I would opt for them personally and hope that Turtle Beach eventually develop a stand-alone throttle for the V1 Flightstick.

A flight controller is a must really, even just a simple Gamepad will get you by.

@@Huddison I think, rudder is used for yawing? For me, aircraft don't turn to the left. Maybe there is problem with aileron axis?

You can't use the Hotas 4 with Xbox consoles; that only works with Playstations or PCs - The Hotas _One_ works fine though.

I just bought this hota since I have a ps4. My dad has flight sim 2020 in his windows ten pc. Can I use the hotas on both, ps4 and pc without ruining the hotas 4?
Yes I used to use my Hotas 4 with my PS4 for playing Elite Dangerous and it still works fine on PC.

Great video. I bought the same joystick as you, but I am totally in the dark as to how to set up the throttle??? Can anyone give me a pointer with this? For some reason with mine I can’t get the throttle to work. None of the L axis controls work for the hotas thrust

Can the reverse throttle be mapped to the portion of the throttle from mid stop down?
Just to clarify your question for myself: trigger reverse from half throttle downwards (or beyond that point down)?

I have the HOTAS X and my "Hat Switch" is goofy.! I hit up and it looks right, so they are not what they should be doing.
There are a couple of issues with it
I’ve had my 4-HOTAS-4 for as long as.MSFS 2029 came out, it worked fantastic until the latest update #5 was released, since then everything has gone down the proverbial
Tube. None of my settings in side my canopy work as before,. I can’t look at the at the panels as before, the mouse does is zoom in/out, it won’t let me lmhhhhim my, bit, I was wondering if there is a way to repair it to the original setup so I’m not enjoying this magnificent program.
I’ve tried most of your advice to return it to my internal settings to a useful viewing of all the panels, and there use, you could can presume this is desperate call for help, all of my aircraft are having the same problem.

Mine is called the Hotas 4, but you can get the Hoptas X for PC. It cost me around £50 when I bought it, but prices seem to have risen a little by then - try and get it between £50-£70.

@@the-entertainment477 The Hotas 4/X are pretty much the same, the sim picks up the Axis and controls for the Hotas, you just need to adjust sensitivities (see my videos).

PLEASE… explain in detail how to use mouse for internal navigation while using the velocity one flightstick. Mouse is disabled for some reason. This is. Making me nuts,no info anywhere! Thanks.
It's a confliction with MSFS and the latest firmware. To get mouse navigation, you will have to remove the bindings for H2 (right Hat); for now at least.
I watched your great video font to end, in hopes I could get mine back to the original setting I had, and unfortunately, I have no idea how I messed them up.
I regress, at this point nothing looks and holds so I can adjust any of the buttons or radios knobs, unfortunately now nothing works inside the cockpit, and only a few work on eternal view.
Is there anyway you can possibly steer me in a direction to repair this annoying problem.
I did shut down the computer, removed the T.Fight HOTAS 4, removed the software, then followed the original directions, alas, no avail.

I have this controller and FS2020 doesn't see it at all. I have the October 2020 update so I guess MS must have removed support completely.

It still shows up on my FS2020 - try plugging it into a USB 2 port, instead of a USB 3 port; that works for me.
Also, be sure to download the latest driver for it on Windows. I don't think mine worked properly until I did!
Turns out I needed configure it in Steam before FS2020 could see it.

You need the Hotas 'One' for the Series S/X. The Hotas X is for PC only.

@@Huddison MFS2020 Pro Instructor...when I taxi to a very low speed, on my xbox Thrusmaster, my aircraft has a mind of its own, at first it turns as I direct but then off it goes, left or right, opposite what I would like. Any ideas? I should see if my rudder is on those throttle handle at the front...hmmm...

I just had the same issue rocker switch and twisting the yoke was not being picked up. I fixed it by downloading the drivers from website and installing it.
Still trying to figure it out it still wants to reset back wont hold on view
Re-watch from 7:58 - make sure you have 'Quick view Function' on Toggle rather than hold.
My throttle for some reason isn't connecting to flight simulator but my joystick is whys that?
Installing a driver for it fixed that issue for me - also if you're using the Hotas 4, pressing the 'PS' button (whilst in the Sim) will bring the Rudder (on the Throttle) online

GREAT video. I have the X and the buttons do correspond to yours. Question, I have my rudder on the right "twist"/elevator handle. That way I can use the elevator and rudder in one fluid motion. What do you use the "twist" for?? MSFS 2020 takes quite a bit of research to get it "tweaked" to get a smooth flight both internal and external. Any more tutorial videos will be helpful and thanks again! !! !!!

Yes, although the Hotas One already has default profiles setup, when you first use it with MSFS on the Series S/X.

I was so excited to start using this Hotas, however I am having trouble flying in fs2020. Anyone else, Keep in mind I come from FSX only with no updates or add-ons for 10-15 years! It also seems the Thrustmaster Airbus (backordered worldwide) will be the stick to get for fs2020 ??
What trouble are you having with it in FS2020? I'm working on a video over the next few days about setting sensitivities for various controllers - if it's connected with that?

When I moved from FSX to FS2020, (I bought a new gaming PC with an RTX 3080 by the way, plus the software and Hotas and 4K monitor, so its a big investment) I realized I don't know how to use the FMC. This was not required in FSX acceleration or steam versions. I cannot simple tune the radio to a NAV frequency and do an ILS landing. I can't control the autopilot. I don't understand VNAV or the FMC controlling a flight. There is no clickable map with frequencies. So I cabn go on and on, maybe FS2020 is still a work in progress but my skills that were honed on FSX, seem to not be adequate in FS2020. Perhaps whatever FSX-add-ons over the years which I have never used (ex: Pr3PRD, or others) leaves me behind in "flight school". Any thoughts?

Next recommendation is to fly something simpler like a Cessna 172 (possibly my favourite aircraft currently in FS2020) and simply marvel at the visual delights of FS2020😊, whilst at the same time, slowly developing new skills needed for this fantastic Sim.

Ensure you have the latest Hotas driver installed then the throttle should work.
Couldn't you just assign the Freelook button and then in that mode freelook? That way you still have the quick look right function.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I was looking for a video that showed me which button does what. I am new to the Thrustmaster 4 HOTAS device. Despite the video's title, I did not feel that it lived up to what it advertised as being. I have flown to the Flight Simulator since the early days when it was a SubLogic project. I was very excited to see the advancement in the program's visuals and I was patient to find a computer that could manage the program with ease. I am frustrated that I cannot seem to find information that tells me exactly how to use the Thrustmaster 4. I would appreciate anyone's input on the layout of the buttons and joystick.

I don't know if it's any help but if you go to the page I've linked,
sorry didn't finish - you can go into your Control Panel, View Devices and Printers, right click on the joystick in the list and select Game Controller Settings, then select Advanced, and it will show you whether all the buttons are working - they will light up when you press them. Broadly 1,2,3,4 are on the main joystick 5,6,7,8 are the XBox style buttons on the back of the thrust lever, 9,10, are on the front, and it seems to have designated the two 'share' and 'options' buttons as 11, 12. Is that what you meant? It helps with translating what's on the buttons into the mapping in FS2020 - this is the link which describes it - support.thrustmaster.com/en/product/tflighthotas4-en/

Hi there! I’m on Xbox series s and own the velocity one flight stick. I’m going to buy a rudder and I have a question for you. What do you think is the best choice. Buy a velocity on rudder or buy the whole thrustmaster flight full kit? With the kit I get a real throttle but lower quality at much lower price. With the velocity one rudder I get a better rudder for a higher price and no stand alone throttle.
The Velocity One Rudders are a massive improvement over the TM Rudders and probably the best in class, in that price range.
I would opt for them personally and hope that Turtle Beach eventually develop a stand-alone throttle for the V1 Flightstick.

It's something like 'toggle cockpit\external mode'.
Which Add on are you using to display instruments when your outside the aircraft?
It's part of the default Sim settings; in Assistance Options IIRC.
