I just bought one looking to get into flight sims. Thanks for the video! I haven't been in this genre before, so I think you sold the idea of this being a budget entry to see if I want to progress in this space.
Yea once you know your gonna enjoy it that's when you can start opening your wallet. Too many people jump in too quick and throw a lot of cash at it only for it to collect dust.
Six months later it broke. First the pitch registration started giving random signals. I opened it. Cleaned it. Got another month out of it. Then the twist function broke entirely sticking on a register of a severe left yaw. It's now in pieces in my bin. Sick to death of these shoddy peripherals for PS.
@@user-zv9zm9uy4e I know. But it is the only HOTAS aside from the atrocious HORI that will work on the console as Sony have DELIBERATELY gatekeeped which Third Parties can and cannot produce peripherals for the console.
@@BatZiei have the original red tflight hotas x for pc snd it works in war thunder (ps4). Im sure the logitech ones would also work, just only inside war thunder not to use like a controller for the consoles menu etc
Big question I have that I wish you went into more is how it performs when the throttle and stick are separated. You mentioned that it's quite light and only has the rubber feet on the bottom, which I wouldn't imagine being a huge issue if you're using it with both the throttle and stick attached, but I'm wondering if it might cause issues when separated which would be my personal ideal configuration.
@@g-locmedia PC, primarily thinking of getting this for Starfield and maybe Mech Warrior rather than flight sims or games like War Thunder. Will be using it at my desk tho
If your on PC there are better options but for PS5 really you e only got this or the HORI. Having the split definitely amplifies the small movement on the desk if your rough with it. An easy fix would be just sticking some extra rubber to the bottom.
I have one. It does feel average at best but it has recently started to fault. After maybe 15 mins the throttle starts to get unresponsive. Turning everything off & on again (taking all that time to load up!) solves the problem but after another while it does it again. Not great.
One additional con, if you separate the stick and throttle, the cable connecting the two is short. It's long enough to give you some separation if you're playing on a desk, but it won't work if you have some sort of cockpit setup with the stick and throttle on opposite sides. I got around this by cutting the cable and soldering in an extension using 2 cat 5 ethernet cables. It works great and I'm still using it 3 years later, but it's a really tedious process. There are 16 wires you have to solder, and you have to do it twice since you're adding in an extension. Anyway, if you want to use something with a cockpit I'd avoid this one. Just out of curiosity, what better options are there for the PC in this price range (Under $100)?
The cable is short and it is just long enough to fit on either side of my game chair..I used velcro on the hotas and game chair to easily remove frome the chair
@@brucecobbs1340 I use it with a Playseat Challenge (I just have stands on either side for the HOTAS), and it was way too short to do the job in my setup. Doing the mod was a pain in the ass with 32 wires that need to be soldered correctly, but it was really worth it. It's now long enough that the cable just wraps around the back of the chair, and I only move them when I have to pack up the chair for some reason. I use velcro to hold them in place on the stands also.
So the cable isn't long enough. I was looking to have the cable run under my seat and have the separated controllers placed comfortably off the armrests.
@@AntMan-b8l Yeah that's how I have it, but I had to mod it by cutting the cable and splicing in an extension using 2 cat 5 network cables. It was tedious as hell, but it all works great now. I wouldn't recommend buying one to do this, but I already had it, and it wasn't serving my purpose as is so I figured what the hell, it's worth a shot.😁
I have a good a year and still working but not many buttons or switches when come to Digital Combat Simulator (short for DCS) its super real looking inside cockpit but working perfectly in warthunder with keyboard combined or AC7 etc.
Thanks for an honest review, I'm looking to get one for PS4VR Ace combat. How long is the cable once the unit is separated? I'm looking to build an ergonomic chair with the yoke on one armrest and the throttle on the other.
my only question: I'm planning to buy one of the HOTAS but the Xbox/PC version due to a game i used to play. The game's name is Descent, a FPS flight 3D game that uses all 3 axis and such. I was wondering if this stick can be used for PC versions of the game and if so will they conflict when tryin to set it up? I seriously want to play that game with a stick but so far I'm struggling to figure WHICH to get
I use to play desent back in the day... lol I have T.Flight hotas and a X52 and X56. IMHO i think youll be fine with the t flight. You can twist the stick for YAW. I would try and get it for 40 or 50.
My Virpil Alpha Prime and CM3 base finally arrived. I can relate to this as I’m coming from a 15+ year old Saitek Cyborg Evo. I had CH Flightstick Pro back in the 90’s. The metal Prime feels fantastic.
It is a great entry point and something I should have mentioned in the video. These entry level products are so important for growing the flight sim space as a whole.
Great review! I'm not a PC gamer, but back in the day(like 1999), I had an old school sidewinder flight stick & the throttle was just a little lever on the side. 😂 I know they have much higher level stuff for PC with force feedback & all that, but I'm just getting into a PS5, so this should be plenty decent for me. I'm just glad they can be separated.
I bought my second one when i got my psvr2 for "Enlisted" but didn't work, i think it silly to make a flying game vr but not add joystick options. Go through ps menu no prob. For ps4 ace combat 7 it's magical except throttle and it doesn't take to long before it starts having prob. like turning on its own.
Sooooo, is this worth me paying 1 dollar for? Well, after fees and taxes, it'll be somewhere around 4-5$ if even that, lmao. Soooo, is it worth it? I do kinda play flight sims occasionally, but im more interested in grabbing it so i can resell it. Is there an okayish market for it? If i get it for brand new for 4-5$, id probably price it online for roughly anywhere between 40-60$. Unless i had to ship it, then the shipping price would be included. But, is it a good deal that will sell fairly quickly? Orrr is it gunna sit on a self for a while and take up space?
the rubber pads on the bottom, clean surface, put a bit of spit on each pad, let them rest for 5 mins, stick like glue, just dont over force them, fun fact !
In the eight and a half half minute video, the controller on the screen for 1 min, the rest seven and a half minutes the guy advertising his face. Just cut to the chase and do the review of yourself 😂😂😂😂
For ace combat high g turns where ur supposed to hit the throttle and brake, how would u do that with this? Is it even possible?
I believe you can do it by pressing the square button

Sound like you've had a bad experience there. Thanks for sharing. Its always good for people to get info from multiple perspectives.
Its not made by ps. Its made by thrustmaster. Its also not good.

I wanna use it on star wars podracer idk if compatible
Sorry, i'm really not sure how this would work on that game
Have you done the hori review I can’t find a video anywhere
I haven't sorry
thanks but i would love if there more options for ps5 only players
note: i planning to use it for only warthunder
Yea unfortunately Warthunder players on PS5 are a bit limited.
And do you have a Good experience with it? I have a ps5 to and i would use it for sim with my f14
there is a thither thing on bottom for the throttle btw

You cannot compare virpil to the goddamn t flight 😂😂
Well... I just bought used one for 12,28USD in Poland and it's looking better than I expected. Nice review!
does it work on pc
Yep
Works on PS5, PS4, and pc
Had mine since 2015, around 2000 hours used, still works.
Does it work on any game or does it only work on flying games
Did you do a review of the Other one I can't find it.
the standard edition?
The Hori….
This stick with psvr and ace combat is super cool
yea it does work with in that setup
How would you compare this product versus the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro?
I've never tried the Logitech 3D extreme pro much. I think the joystick is slightly better although you don't get a throttle with it
can you play msfs or dcs with it?
Yes it should show up as a controller
