I sold marathons and mars bars when i was in thorn cross in 1985. There was a scouse guard called Barton. He found my list when he spun my pad looking for h@sh. When he never found it, he never bothered reporting me for the list.
As a first timer, I was already nervous about what to expect. But when the staff said "Best thing to do is not borrow anything, because it's double bubble and you'll need pay it back"!!
My initial thought was "Oh great, so you guys know what's up but you ain't gonna do fk all" 😳😂😂
I got through my time ok tbf. Showed respect, got involved via playing pool, table tennis, football, but didn't get close to anyone as such. Even my pad mate(s). I was like, as far as I'm concerned, watch what you want on tv but I'm watching match of the day and if we can catch a game (via a wire out the window) I'll watch that too, but anything else is yours (tv).
I'm just more than happy just kicking back and watching step toe n son knowing if I'm bored I can go out that's how my life is pretty boring but free, stay out of trouble it's never worth it.

When I worked in the DHL workshop in Stocken, I remember chatting to a heroin dealer who explained that he had deliberately got caught so that he would have something like an eight year sentence. In the four years that he would actually do, he would make so much money dealing that he could take several years off to do what he wanted. His dad dealt with all his cash on the out.
I know of people who have literally made hundreds of grand’s selling gear on the inside while serving sentences whilst also having people working for them on the outside selling gear also, come out of jail to a fortune waiting for them.

The most ridiculous is when it is deemed that a debt is on the pad. I saw a traveller hit the back doors on canteen day cos of debt and threats from Scouse mob. New occupant of pad got told debt was now his, refused to pay and got striped across the face with a triple bladed tooth brush! His cheek was hanging off and when he tried to speak just bubbles of blood came out. Outrageous.
That’s just nasty, I’m a scouser myself and I’d be ashamed to admit I’d done that to someone who had nothing to do with another guys debt. I was away in the 80s in Walton and a few other gaffs and that shit would never have happened back then.

Friend of mine who got life at her majesties pleasure as it was back then (he was 16) before they brought in tariffs was given a tariff of 10 years then released after serving 10 but is obviously on life licence and has had several recalls and i went to visit him in HMP Cardiff and he said inside a 50g tobacco goes for anything between £400 - £600. Is that true and if it is, that's got to be a massive temptation for the screws especially if they happen to be in debt or struggling. Pick up 2 for £50 outside and sell them on for a grand. £950 profit for ten mins work

Me and my mate had a shop in Featherstone 1 for 2 back 2 for 3 and 3 for 5 back tobacco munchies toiletries we had it for well over a year the screws knew but because no violence ever came to people who owed us and there was a scouser who started one he hit someone who owed him and straight away screws shut him down

When i went in STADELHEIM, PRISON MUNICH,Built in 1892 . I had nothing Aged 24 just my blue boiler suit toilet roll soap , But after a week others gave me bits backi matches Skins no pay back but it was gifted to me , But i was lucky the only English guy in 1200 inmates .They Called me MR ENGLISH ,Even the screws called me that . The old prison officer guys with white hair were horrible to me, but the young ones were OK .A scouser came to my cell for ten minutes im a manc .

How was German prison? What did you do to get banged up there? I lived in Osnabruck and Bielefeld when my dad was in the army. Germany in the 80s was a wild place. As a teenager I got in some scrapes over there.
