Some interesting embellishments that I have used... Embedded LED lights, surface mounted LED lights, old computer circuit boards, electrical components, floppy discs (the ones that were 5" and still floppy). You can also add men's ties to manly quilts, pockets from recycled garments, zippers... Thanks for the great video and the opportunity to comment. Cheers,
@@CreatewithClaudia I made a quilt for my full size bed. Instead of traditional quilting, I tied off each corner of this multicolor log cabin with tiny pearls. It came out beautiful, except my 7 year old cat wouldn’t sleep with me when it was on the bed.
Another reason to embellish a quilt is to make it more tactile for the blind. Our daughter-in-law is legally blind. I'm making her a butterfly-panel quilt and using trapunto and thread painting to make the butterflies more tactile. I'm certainly giving a lot of thought to also using some of your ideas, but it will be used, so it needs to be washable. Also, my wedding dress was ruined by a roof leak, so I plan to take some unruined parts of the satin and lace and making a shadow box quilt out of them, perhaps adding the hairpiece I attached my veil to. I could use your idea of adding beads for the design too!
Oh what a lovely project. Thank you for sharing here. It sounds like the quilt will be beautiful. I’ve often thought of adding some of my wedding dress to a project but can’t get up the nerve to cut it up. Thanks for watching.
So many great ideas. You were showing a crazy quilt for the example of different stitches. Can you tell me the fabric you used in that quilt and a better picture of the quilt? Thanks
Thanks for watching. I looked back and can't find the crazy quilt you are asking about. The section on decorative stitches was with a quilt using 1930's reproductions. It is an older quilt and I'm not sure if I still have a photo of it. I'll have to check and if I do I will post it to my Instagram account.
Love this video. I did use fabric markers for a baby quilt at a baby shower. Messages and drawings were added by all that attended
Awe I love that idea! What a great heirloom and idea. Thanks for telling me about it!
I have used pin tucking, pleats, piping, and ruffles on a quilt top. I have seen quilts made from parts of old uniforms and Military patches.
Those are great ideas too! Thanks for those! Military patches are great for sentimental/memory quilts. Thanks for watching! 🤗

Awesome. I hope you give embellishments a try some time. Thanks for watching!
I am using tiny pearls for snow on a wallhanging. I LOVE your quilt with the 30's prints and the charms. That is alot of work.
Oh that’s a great idea for snow. I bet it will be beautiful. Thanks for stopping by!

a quilt is more than just a flat "object" ... adding to it does add interest and more texture to the quilt

Is your camera off kilter? Part of your picture doesn't show.
It's better now.
I don’t think there were any problems. Maybe just a glitch in RUclips??? Glad it got better. Thanks for watching.!
