you are one of the rare few who bother to show this done via hand.I am new to any sewing. keep showing anything by hand there are so many of us new to this and want to sew by hand.
I am so glad that I noticed your channel. My great grandmother sewed crazy quilts by hand using fabrics from suits and dresses of her ancestors. I inherited and eventually lost 2 of her quilts which caused me no end of regret. I often thought about making one, but had no idea of how they were done, except for a short explanation by my grandmother many years ago. I have some sewing projects on-going and am saving all the scraps. All I need now is the muslin. Thank you.
Thank you for your very clear explanations of everything you do to piece the scraps together. I can't wait to watch your next video about embroidery stitches.
Last year I learned slow stitching and had a review of embroidery stitches. I think I have found a new and fun interest. Thank you for your clear instructions. I’ll be back🙂.
Last year I found you on RUclips and I thought I subscribed, but I didn't and lost your video's. 🙁 I am so happy I found you again, I love your video's. 💜
Hi Lisa, I am new to crazy scrap quilting, so I was happy to find someone (you!) who so patiently took me step by painful step through this. Looking forward to learning the about the different embroidery stitches. Thank you for sharing 😍 x
I’ve been scrolling through RUclips searching for simple ideas to make a messy quilted blocks for days and your video wasn’t in any of my previous searches just popped up and I’m so glad it did. I love the concept but even more so you have just the right amount of explanation for me to understand without me feeling dumb so thank you for sharing. I am totally loving the hand stitching as well you’ve inspired me to to definitely hand stitch some panels.
This is the video I have been searching for, for a very long time....Thank you for sharing this. I am a total newbie and you have made this so simple that even I understand this process. I love to hand stitch so this is right up my alley. I can't wait to start my first project.
What a wonderful video! I enjoyed how you kept it simple as I am a newbie, the relaxing music and the the calmness in your voice. The material you choose was beautiful and I really appreciated you explaining your thought process. I will be watching more of your video's, thank you!
@@IvoryBlushRoses Hi there, I'm having trouble finding the rest of the episodes to follow on from this one. I have done quite a few blocks but need to see hoe you put it all together.
This is wonderful! My grandmother made beautiful quilts by hand when I was a little girl. I remember her at church, sitting around a HUGE table with a lot of other ladies and they would all work on the same quilt. It was amazing, some of the quilts she/they made. That was 50 years ago or so, so I don’t really remember the how of it all. Today everything is done by machine, so fast. Seems like some of the art is lost in the machine. This is a treasure, thank you! Sweet music also. 💕
Thank you for sharing. I’m wanting to do a crazy quilt and didn’t know how to start it now I know. I’m new to your channel God bless you and your family.
Absolutely love how you did your quilt square. Really liked how you hand stitched it together. I much prefer to sit in my easy chair and sew. Would live to see your finished quilt!
A wonderful tutorial on a simple quilting technique! I've been reading "Litttle House In The Big Woods" to my 8-year old granddaughter and she wants to try quilting . Now we can try it!
I love your choice of colors and your idea of the muslin backing. I love to hand stitch too. I belong to a small quilting group and this would be a good take along for me. I am 88 years young and try to keep busy with new ideas. You have me convinced.
That's so pretty. I have only just discovered your videos and love your gentle calming style. Crazy quilting is something that I have wanted to have a go at and you have made it so achievable.
Thank you, my friend gave me bags of her scraps leftover from sewing gowns, suits & dress. Mostly she gave me a lot of cottons materials. Now I know how to do a crazy quilts by hand. Don't get me wrong I do have sewing machines & a Serger that was given to me. You are a excellent teacher. I am happy I found your video. Thanks Again, Audrey Joyner, Pennsylvania, USA
Not a quilter, searching for ways to make slow stitching more enjoyable. I was actually looking to join fabric for slow stitching by machine ( for the base, them slow/embroider by hand). Arthritis has me looking for tips so I can continue enjoying handwork. Thank you.
thank you!! at 66 years of age,I am starting my sewing career by doing exactly this. by hand and scraps. I am loving it. although I have a bit of a problem. I start off random and haphazard, which I like, then I become symetrical and even. don't quite know how to stop myself forming a straight pattern. been too symetrical all my life.a little crooked will not hurt me.
Your fabric was so vibrant. Im learning a fast and dirty way to do a crazy quilt square on the machine just to get me going. I hope to refine the technique similar to yours.. You have such a great sense of color. Thank you for the video..
Very lovely video. Hand piecing making it so much more tranquil with almost meditative quality as compared to going back and forth to machine stitch. Also, I love to see the whole creative process behind the final fabric placement and design progress.
